OK USB DVD drive

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a new Dell Inspiron laptop with Windows 10, and as most new laptops it didn’t include a DVD drive. I purchased this external USB drive, plugged it in to a USP port and voila, the computer recognizes the DVD drive. Then I inserted the included DVD and installed its software, which just happens to include DVD player software. Installation went smoothly. Long story short... The external drive was able to read and run the included software DVD, but was unable to play a new out-of-the-box DVD movie. I was able to watch the movie on a Sony DVD player connected to a Sony TV; so the problem wasn’t the media. Who to blame? Maybe Windows 10, maybe the DVD drive.

Might be OK to download software only, but not good for a regular music cd player. Makes way too much whirling noise. I am very disappointed with this product from Dell.
