We're glad that your computer is working for you for the most part. We'd recommend seeing if your BIOS needs to be updated in order to help with the fan noise:
An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer. You can also follow up with our Technical Support Team here - 1-800-624-9896.

Operation is straightforward. Initial configuration with Windows 10 very straightforward and accomplished in 10 -15 minutes time. Been using it daily, I find the battery duration to be quite adequate generally 4 hours of use before plugging in. I am happy with the purchase. I only use it as a normal laptop and I don't exercise any 2 in 1 features that were advertised. I am happy with the Dell offering.

Found this PC as an open box at my local store and the sales guy made me an offer I couldn't refuse. It is getting me through my bachelor's degree and also so far has been great for the start of my masters program. Screen is great and it interfaces perfectly with a Dell dock I bought.

The cut the size down by getting rid of wasted space along the sides of the screen. Only negative there is there is less to grab on to when moving the laptop so I've accidentally closed programs. I had to uninstall the Dell battery/power management software to stop it from shutting down the laptop when it goes into hybrid sleep. Otherwise it is a nice powerful laptop that meets my needs.

a lot of BIOS issues

Dell support has been working on the issue and supposedly is sending a new laptop. I believe when it is resolved, this laptop will be very good for everyday use - great picture, lightweight, keyboard is good.

Thanks for your review. We're glad that you're enjoying the picture, weight and keyboard on your new computer. If you notice your computer continuing to overheat in the future we'd recommend the following tips:
Tips for Proper Usage:
1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on a blanket, pillow, or other types of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.
