When I decided to purchase this laptop, I was concerned about the overall build quality. After using several Dell laptops at work, I wasn't expecting a lot since those laptops have all had hinge issues. That was my first surprise. The build quality itself appears to be excellent. The hinges for the screen feel very solid. I was expecting there to be a little bloatware pre-installed. This was my next surprise. There was actually very little bloatware compared to what I've seen from HP, Toshiba, Acer and Asus laptops when you consider 3rd party software. However, there is considerably more Dell branded bloatware than what I've seen from HP, Toshiba, Acer and Asus. The Dell branded software heavily impacts performance, unlike the software from HP, Toshiba, Acer and Asus. As a result of the performance impact from the Dell branded software, the 6 year old Acer it was bought to replace is considerably faster. Aside from hinge issues, I've always found Dell laptops to be quite reliable. I work as a mechanic, so work laptops get heavily abused. This is where this particular laptop has been a let down. At the time or typing up this review, the laptop was trying to do a startup repair after a restart where Windows failed to load. The startup repair attempt has been going for almost 2 hours at this point and I'm doubtful that it will succeed. Very disappointed at this point. I know it's not Dell's fault but disappointing none-the-less. For the price, definitely worth a buy. Unfortunately, for me, facing a possibility of having to restore Windows after less than 7 days ownership and the possibility of hardware failure, I can't rate it any better at this point. No regrets on the purchase though. Definitely the best constructed laptop I've ever seen in it's price range. The laptop I'm typing this review on was in the same price range a year ago and feels extremely cheap in comparison.

We'd recommend running Dell's SupportAssist app during your setup process to make sure that you have all of the most up to date software and drivers. For troubleshooting the slowness of your laptop we'd recommend that you follow these steps:
Delete temporary files and directories
1. Click Start, then in the search bar type "disk". Disk Cleanup should appear on the menu above the search box.
2. Run disk cleanup and eliminate unneeded temporary files (Search results, Internet Cache and other windows temp files you may no longer need)
3. Select files you want to delete then click OK to start the cleanup process. Uninstall applications you no longer use 1. Open the Programs and Features application in Control Panel. 2. Scan the list of applications installed for ones that you no longer use. 3. Highlight any application you no longer use and then click the uninstall button at the top of the list. Follow the prompts to uninstall.
4. Repeat for each application you want to uninstall.
5. Move large files and/or seldom used files to backup media (Photos, Music you seldom listen to, application downloads after the application has been installed etc.).
6. Empty the Recycle Bin.

I have about 100GB currently stored and the computer still has a fast processing speed. At such a low price, it has exceeded my expectations.

(My last computer was Windows Vista, and I wasn't sure how well I would do with Windows 10. It has been a great learning experience!)
