Customers appreciate the Inspiron 2-in-1's light weight, ease of use, compact size, and fast SSD. Positive feedback also highlights the responsive touch screen, good performance, and long battery life, with many considering it a great value for the price. The attractive design is also frequently praised. A minor drawback mentioned by some users is the fan noise under certain conditions.

Great laptop, sleek and beautiful looking. It is a fast laptop, nice screen size, and lightweight. SSD is great and smooth on operation. After three weeks of usage, I highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a portable 13.3 laptop. I rarely write a review; however, I do like reading reviews before buying a product. I think I owe other buyers this review. So decided to put a little time to write this review.

    Very fast i5 processor

This is a great computer for the price and I mean you get a lot for the money. The SSD hard drive is the way to go if you want speed at start up and while using the computer. The version 7 i5 processor is quick compared to the older versions of the i5 processor, and the 8GB memory is all I need for business and home use. Excellent buy! One negative I found was that the power and volume buttons are to close to the front of the computer where I shut down the computer by accident while I using it on my lap.

A good buy, but with some limitations

    Posted .

Pros: 1) Bang for the buck : You will not find a lot of 2 in 1 which provides an i5, 256 gb SSD and 8gb RAM for under 700. 2) Fast : I like the performance of this laptop. A tiny bit slow SSD but not a deal breaker. 3) Looks : Elegant and nice. After carrying a 15.6 for 3 years everywhere, having a classy 13.3 is real nice change. Cons: 1) Noticeably heavy: At 3.5 pounds, this 2 in 1 is a little heavy compared to other laptops in this category. 2) Display is bland: And yes, it is noticeable. 3) Battery life: I dont have a lot of issue with this as I am used to carrying a heavy gaming laptop everywhere which needed to charged every 2 hours, but I expected more from a 2 in 1. It is giving me around 4 to 5 hours with WiFi and multimedia on. At $800, it is pricey for what is provides. But at $650 (what i spent for this laptop), it is a decent investment. If you can get it for $500 ( including the student discount, then is an AWESOME investment).

    Good....when it works

Bought 2 of these for Christmas gifts for kids. The price was very good and the machine looked to have good capability. I did a fair amount of research and that showed that many people were happy with their purchase. When it works, we have been pleased. However, one has been back to the store twice already. The latest problem is the the touch screen display. All of a sudden, it stopped functioning (the laptop function still works). Tried troubleshooting on my own but was unsuccessful. I was not pleased with Geek Squad on line support so I went to the store. They were much more helpful but unable to determine or resolve the problem. My options were a) get it repaired (2-4 weeks) or b) replace it. Just what I want to do after getting it all configured etc! At the store, I was told that they have had a lot of problems with this model. An additional frustration is that my research indicates this may actually be a Windows 10 issue and not related to the computer. Would appreciate knowing if anyone else has experienced this and if so, what did you do?

    Great portable

Buy it on sale. It is a great portable system with very adequate power and performance. Some cons: The 8GB of memory limits memory throughput to single channel which can show as degraded performance in some apps. Populating the second memory slot ramps up performance in those apps as memory will run in dual channel mode. Touch pad. the L/R buttons at the bottom off the touch pad are touch sensitive and can be a pain at times. SSD is not the fastest out there. Adding a Samsung could up performance some, but probably not enough to justify unless installing one solely for more storage like a 500GB or 1TB drive. On the plus side, I have this dual booting Linux and it has had no issues with any of the hardware. For the price it was what I needed for dragging around for personal use and to also connect to Cisco and Juniper network devices on site. Battery life is quite good depending upon how you manage screen brightness as with any battery operated device with a screen. I think if this came with both memory slots populated it would deserve a higher score. I don't run games, so I cannot comment on that. In summation, it does everything I need it to do and does it well. Populate both memory slots and make this even better.

    Nice computer!

I did a lot of review reading before I bought this computer. After having it for a month now I can safely say that I am happy with my choice! It is lightweight and expensive looking for the price. The tablet feature is easy to use and switches well. The first week I had it the computer was hot on my lap and a little screwy but with a few automatic updates those issues seem to be gone now. I'm not crazy about the mousepad - it's a little sensitive and the "clicking" part of it on the bottom requires a harder push than I'm used to. I like that the keyboard is back lit. Overall, this was a good purchase and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an easy to use, quick handling, computer.

    Great computer but Intel graphics

I had purchased the Lenovo Yoga 710 with a Geforce 940mx graphics card, but returned it to purchase this one. Wow am I happy with that decision. This is a cheaper computer, but it feels and processes things a million times better. The only issue is the intel graphics card so I am giving 4 stars. Would have paid 200 bucks extra for a Geforce model.

The Wireless Card Is Beyond Terrible

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

OK, I SO wanted to love this computer. You see: I currently own a Yoga 11S. But i was outgrowing it. The 4 Gigs of memory and 128 SSD was becoming too small for me. I needed something bigger. I love my Yoga 11S except that the wireless card has been the worst of any computer i've ever owned. So i wait patiently for the 720 to go on sale. It did on Sunday at Best Buy. I buy it. i figure that in 4 years they MUST have improved the wireless card. Not only is it NOT improved, it isn't nearly as good as the yoga 11s. I put them side by side, and I'm able to get a weak signal on my 11S in my bedroom but absolutely nothing on the 720. A decent signal on the 11S in my study but nothing on the 720. Near the router they both work well. I called Lenovo support. After driver re-installs, updates, etc. they said "hardware limitations". I tried more updates on my own, on the Lenovo website. Still no better. Every laptop in my house: 1 Toshiba, 2 Dells, and 1 HP have no issue locating our wireless, connecting, and pulling up websites -- both in my study or bedroom. The Yoga 11S has issues with speed in my bedroom, as if the signal if very weak. The 720 can't even pick up the signal in the bedroom. Tomorrow I'm taking it back to Best Buy. I guess my relationship with Lenovo has finally ended. Too bad. I love Lenovo laptops but this is a deal breaker. I gotta get online. Weak connections just won't cut it.

Great laptop/ tablet! Love the fact that it is lightweight and easy to transport. This 7th generation laptop is lightening fast and love the fact that the screen has "gorilla protection" and do not need a case for it.

    Issues after 6 months

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I reviewed this item when I first bought it and gave it excellent reviews. However, after 6 months, I'm not so sure. The laptop had a very fast start up time in the beginning. Only 6 months later, it does not. And during start up it keeps saying it needs me to wait for it to "update my firmware" with a bar showing the update. However it never does update. But worse than that, twice I have had to call support because my sound goes away. It seems to be occurring during updates. The most recent technician said it's a Windows 10 issue. I have been pleased with the laptop otherwise, but the speed and the sound disappearing seems as though it may be an ongoing issue. I'm not happy about it. For the record, I am not using the laptop for much besides Facebook, e-mail, and general surfing of the internet. I do not download music, videos, games, movies, or anything really. The most I do is save recipes to my favorites.

    Great Computer... When It Works

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this computer about a month ago. I brought it home and the speakers didn't work at all. I tried everything to fix them including updating and reinstalling drivers but nothing work. I went back to Best Buy and they replaced it without any problems. The second one worked without any problems for about a month and then the touch screen stopped working. I have literally tried everything to fix it, but there is absolutely no response. I haven't ever brought it out of my house or put it in any situation where it could have been damaged. It just quit on me out of the blue. I plan on taking it back as soon as possible.

I read the reviews for this laptop and was excited because of the excellent reviews. I bought it in February and this was my first laptop I bought so i took great care of it. Not even four months later and it doesn't turn on. I thought maybe the battery was dead so i charged it all day and still nothing. I took it to geek squad and they said that they didnt know what was wrong with it and would have to send it to Dell for them to fix. But if you send it to Dell it will delete everything on the computer.
