I was trying to figure out what to buy and I asked the coustumer service guys for help. The person that helped knew exactly what to recommend me. I'm in love with my laptop. Easy to use and understand. I wasn't sure if I wanted a mini iPad or a laptop but with this wonderful laptop I have both.

Headache from the start 2nd Dell computer, 1st one couldn't activate Window 10( even Geek squad and Microsoft) couldn't figured it out! So I replaced it with this one, nothing but headaches since I got it. Taken to geek squad a couple of times and they couldn't find anything wrong with it! Screen/monitor flickers as if it going bad or may be going bad, when in typing and start typing in another program keyboard doesn't start typing right away, have to mess with it like go back into last program and back and forth, I've change the batteries in mouse and keyboard and switch out Logitech Unify toggle to see if that might help we'll see in couple days. While at Best Buy I've notice quite a few Dell returns in the open box section makes one wonder maybe Dell computer aren't what they use to be!

Bought this as a red tag item. I had hoped the people at Best Buy had truly run it though it's paces, but I think they blew this one. After getting home, we found that new apps where not showing in the right ratio faunt was all scrunched up and the splash pages were tiny. Tried to make many adjustments only to end up with the settings that were when we bought it. Talked to the Best Buy people by phone, and they couldnt help.
This might be a good product, but I feel like it's a pain to use it, with the display messed up on anything but Microsoft products.

Good Laptop (Note about WIFI Issues

I bought this to go along with my iPad Pro. Things I like:
1: Screen
2: Keyboard is comfortable
3: Decent battery life
4: Processor
I've seen several reviews complaining about wifi disconnects. This happens BECAUSE of 2 things:
1: You have a Wireless AC router
2: Buggy Intel Wireless Driver causes issues with wireless AC connectivity.
This laptop will connect to to A/B/G/N routers without a problem.
To fix it, just open Device Manager > Expand Network Adapters > right click the Intel WIFI AC adapter check for driver updates.
If the driver is dated July 2015 it will cause the issue. The updated driver should show August 2015.
Overall this is a good laptop. If you don't need the storage, spend 80 bucks and get an SSD drive. This baby will scream.

I did a lot of research and test driving this and other devices in the store before choosing this model because of price, storage space, RAM, and great ergonomic keyboard for typing. It also has 3 usb ports and an hdmi port. I wanted to buy the upgraded DELL model with more RAM but it was unavailable in my area.
Hard Drive Space: 1 TB
Excellent for my needs, plenty of space
RAM: 8 GB - OK, works just fine for business and my software development needs
Windows 10: Runs slow
I noticed on this device and my other desktop device Windows 10 runs slow. I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro for some improved performance
Battery Life New Out of Box: 3-4 hours
I noticed the battery life only being 3-4 hours, I would have liked to seen at least 6-8 hours
Weight: This weighs a little less than 5 lbs. The lightest laptop and DELL I've had. I would like to see Dell compete with the Microsoft surface model in weight and features.
Microphone: I would rate poor. Cortana (the windows help) seems to have some issue hearing my voice on this laptop device but not on my other desktop device with an external webcam/mic. I recorded my voice with the sound recorder. Even after boosting input, the hardware has some issues.
Sound: Adequate. The sound quality/speakers is not the best on the market, and I was aware of this before purchase but knew I would be using a headphone device. For a music lover, the speakers on the device could be improved, but I attach my headphones to the device and sound is just fine for my needs.
Overall, DELL is a great brand to buy for business and personal needs. I have been using DELL brands for work for many years and was impressed with the keyboard layout and features available.

I wanted to love it but in the end was a failure

I was looking for a 15 inch laptop to replace an older one. I purchased this laptop and HP Spectre X360 15 to compare the 2. I wanted a 15 inch 2 in 1 with 4K screen which already has a relatively low number laptops with these features. I wanted to love this laptop and keep it over the HP which is considerably more in cost. I was able to get the Dell sub $800. The Laptop was shipped with faulty driver that would not allow me to get on WIFI since I had an AC router (software bug from Intel). I also had the screen shakes that is a bug with the Intel HD driver. That was resolved with driver update.
What made me eventually return the laptop were the constant crashes of the Intel HD driver. I had the latest driver posted from dell yet it still occurred.I tried a fresh install of windows and downloaded all the drivers straight from Dells support page, same issue!
Lastly the battery life was 3 hours or less when the screen brightness was anywhere above 70%. The build quality was just OK. I liked the rubber top but felt it scratched easy. The inside was made of plastic and keys had little travel when you type. In the end the Spectre X360 was much more refined, had no crashes, extremly long battery life, thinner, lighter and overall better. Bottom line If you’re willing to spend a bit more I’d highly recommend the HP Spectre X360 15 as alternative.

Machine has a great screen and great keyboard. Lacks a "hard drive activity" light; sometimes we wonder if the machine is thinking or just locked up.
Windows 10 is not as good as Windows 7. It has its good points, but having to learn the changes in the interface are NOT compensated by true performance improvement. The good news is, it made me understand I do NOT want to upgrade my desktop to Windows 10 from Windows 7 Ultimate. There's just no point in doing it.

I got two of these laptops for the purpose of installing Microsoft office products, and remote connection software for my supervisors. I really enjoy how this product does not feel slow, it is responsive and works like a charm. This is not made for gaming, I do not need it for gaming. It does all normal functions well like reading emails, browsing the web, and looking at photos. The 4K screen looks really crystal clear. I love having the ability to completely flip the screen around and use the laptop like a tablet. If I were into drawing art, I would want something just like this, but maybe with a slightly better GPU like a nvidia. But, I don't need that to still be able to draw images using this computer.
It has a fast processor for being a laptop. The skylake series processors do a great job.
When I need a new personal laptop, I am going to look for a product like this.

I bought this computer to replace 4yo Dell notebook that was having problems. I was mostly impressed with the spec's though a little disappointed that they don't give you more than 8GB or ram or that they've cheapened up and are using 5400rpm HDD's in their systems instead of 7200rpm HDD's like they were just 4 years ago. On the whole I had no issues with the computer. It worked great and was much faster than my older Dell. For a 15" touch screen I found it pretty slim and light weight. The addition of a back lit keyboard is a nice touch. Other than that it would be nice if they used a keyboard that has the separate 10 key pad on the right or even incorporated the new USB C format on the system in an effort to future proof an already expensive system.
Ultimately I ended up returning the machine but due to any fault of the system itself. As it worked out we were able to recover my old system while also winning a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 so I didn't see a point in having an expensive third laying around.

What I like: This laptop is beautifully designed! It's one of the few 15-inch laptops without a numeric keypad (that I don't use), so the alphabetic keyboard and the track pad are centered, not way offset to the left like most laptops this size. The 4K display is nice! Overall performance is pretty good, but not exceptional.
What I don't like: I didn't do my homework properly, so I didn't know until too late that this laptop only has ONE memory module slot, and you can ONLY install 8MB of RAM. As a photographer using Lightroom and Photoshop, that's adequate, but 16MB would be so much better. For general office computing it's good, but if you need more than 8MB of RAM, look elsewhere.

I was planning to buy a new laptop. I already have a Dell inspiron. I am not a fan of Apple but I looked at the new mac it was alright and it coast $1780.00 which is ridiculous. Then I went back to dell. I Saw This Dell Inspiron 4k Ultra HD Touch Screen. It has everything double than what mac has with half a price. So I went on to buy this laptop. I really love this laptop and I'm really happy with it. I don't regret buying this at all.

Okay.. my last computer was using the OS Vista I had to finally upgrade and I waited until Windows 8 wasn't my only choice. Of course there are frustrations with any new OS, but my son and daughter have 8 and like mine better. I can use it like a iPad or the MS system I am used to. My only complaint is that I got the Office Program - but doesn't include MS Outlook. I didn't want 365, so I'm stuck with a mail program that I wish I could buy MS Outlook and use again. It's slower than my cell phone for uploading any email and I can't make new folders in the mail box. Otherwise. I love my computer. It's lightweight and there is no key pad to the right, so my right and left pad is in the center. Perfect when I am laying on the couch using the computer with the weight perfect from side to side...

I love this new laptop/tablet combo. The UHD screen is amazing and crystal clear. It has the i7 processor in it with 8Gb of RAM and is pretty fast. My only downsides are no easily removable battery to upgrade, no room for a second hard drive, and no CD/DVD drive. Upsides to this laptop is lightweight, blazing fast running Windows 10, and easily converts to tablet with no issue. I run this as a desktop unit plugging into a USB docking station to view on three monitors plus a TV all at the same time and it works great.

I liked it so much I bought a second one for my wife. Decent performance (even with a hard drive) for a sub-$1k system. I just replaced the HD with a Samsung EVO 500GB drive (VERY easy) and now it blazes. The screen is excellent and I really like the slim profile. The battery life is definitely usable. LOTS of BANG for the BUCK!

So far, Dell Inspiron is working well much quicker than my former Toshiba. An issue I have encountered is the cursor shakes sometimes. Called Geek Squad and touch pad drivers were reinstalled. The issue has resolved somewhat but still occurs sometimes, not sure why? After reading other reviews, its seems that this is an issue with Dell laptops. Besides this sporadic occurence, I am happy with my laptop thus far.

This is the second laptop I've purchased. The previous one was a HP Envy which I was not happy with the quality. This laptop has by far out shined the other. The speed is great, the display and resolution is unbelievable. As a college student the ability to flip it into tablet form has been extremely helpful, not to mention the money I saved not having to purchase a tablet. The only drawback on this laptop, is its lack of a dvd/cd drive. Otherwise, it's perfect.

Excellent computer for the money. The speed of applications opening, detecting, installing and fixing drivers are lightening fast. Updates take only a few seconds!! A minute at most.
I love the screen size, high resolution and touch display technique on laptop set up as well as tablet. Certainly quicker than a mouse as long as it works. Some older web pages may still have to use mouse to avoid frustration. In beginning I had a couple of instances where the touch display did not work but I think one of the updates took care of it.
Other issues:
*The set up for gmail on the main front line app does not work as well since you cannot get to contacts without setting up google +. Not thrilled about that.
*Font has to be set for web pages initially since it can be tiny as resolution is vast and gorgeous.
*No extra keys for calculator set up though as a tablet, you can set it up. Can get a separate calculator with USB connector.
*Sometimes the display driver doesn't work but talking milliseconds. It corrects itself by the time you read the message. Waiting for update on display driver.
I highly recommend Inspiron 15 7000 series. HP version is 400 dollars more for same performing laptop. I am Dell devoted now!!

I am not impressed with the mouse/touch pad. After using it for a bit I would prefer the older style touch pad with separate buttons. Otherwise a good overall laptop. My other issues are Windows 10 based so will try to not let that influence my judgment of the laptop. Coming from a Win7 environment to 10 is an adjustment.
