Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the touch screen, ease of use, and fast SSD as significant advantages. Many also appreciate its lightweight design and good performance for the price. However, some users find the keyboard too small, and a few have noted that the speakers could be better. Overall, the positive feedback outweighs the negative regarding this laptop.

I like the versatility of the computer e.g. multi mode hinge, the sleek design, the fast reacting hard drive, the touch and/or keyboard option. Due to the large display the wrists can rest below the keyboard. My purchase came at the right time and I got the computer with a discount which helped since it is a higher priced item. After looking at all the other computers available, this one was the only one I wanted to purchase. I just noticed it also has USB type C ports. I know nothing about that, but I think this is really fast. I almost forgot - the keys light up as soon as one is touched, totally cool especially when the lighting is dim. I am totally happy with my purchase.

The computer is sleek looking, it is quick, its a touch screen and you can write on the screen. You can turn it into a big tablet as you are sitting on the couch. I really love this computer.

    Excellent Product From Dell

I saw this laptop with price drop around $50. I went staight to the store and bought brand new Dell i5|256 SSD|8GB. It was on tag of $649 but I'd got student deal and cost me around $499. Such a nice deal...!! I never had an issue to do initial setup for Windows 10. I turned on the machine and done initial steps. Then had run live windows update, went to device manager and scan for new drivers for all hardware and boom...!! Once all done, I was surprised and could feel the powerful machine on my finger tips. Below are the reasons why I'm always a big fan of DELL: (1) My last dell laptop was lasted for 6 years and then it had just minor issue of fan replacement. No big issues in my old laptop as well. (2) This big guy has awesome touch. Feels super smooth and responsive. Never goes out of response. Tried in small places as well in web page but still detects accurately and does its job. (3) 256 SSD has totally changed my mind. Super quite and super duper high performance. You can clearly feel difference between HDD Vs. SSD. Applications runs, opens, installs so fast that you will feel like using power station. (4) Not heard fan noise. Super quite fan and I'd never heard fan kicking off even after using it straight for 3 hours. I watched YouTube, NetFlix, Amazon ordering, Ran Windows 10 Update by cancelling rebooting for a while, also installed Microsoft office etc but all these lengthy task which indeed required lot of memory consumption were completed in few minutes. (5) I'd tried to transfer 50GB data from my Nikon Camera for testing data transfer speed which includes Photos and HD recorded videos. It was completed just in 15 minutes. Imagine you got 3.33GB per minute transfer speed. Impressed.. (6) Battery backup for 7 Hrs on Power Saver with 50% brightness which I normally prefer... Excellent Job Dell.. (7) WiFi connectivity is undoubtedly good and recognizes easily my dual band modem. I have 105 mbps line at my home and got around 98 mbps in speed test. (8) One big feature is Project feature. You can directly project your Dell Laptop screen on your LG 4K Smart TV and watch NetFlix, do browsing on big screen, sometimes project slides in meetings and of course play games. CONS: If 256 SSD satisfies your storage needs then it's best else open an OneDrive 1TB account with Microsoft or just with other products from dell with higher storage capacity. But believe me guys don't look anywhere else just go and buy this one. I bet you never get disappointed. Due to SSD you will get more battery backup, Super quite experience and no heating of hardware/memory, long lasting product assurance from DELL brand as always. What else you want ? Overall, I love Dell. Keep it up and nice business with Best Buy..!! Cheers..!!

I was looking to replace my laptop with one with a bigger screen, I use the computer for business and for some photo editing, since I have a desktop that as ample storage I decided to go for this one because of the SSD, the computer is pretty fast even though it is an I5 processor, it still has 4 cores like the I7, the battery is ridiculous, i was worried about needing to charge it but I don't even carry the charger, after an 8 hour day I have 60 to 70% left, plus it charges in about 20 minutes to full charge, I use mine in the car all day, the aluminium does not get overly hot, I would buy this again in a heartbeat

From the flawless screen to the SSD it's been a rock solid performer. Purchased for my wife for school, the machine has performed great. It's literally taken everywhere we go, to do seminars and homework, and it hasn't skipped a beat. I am always leary of consumer grade laptops vs enterprise class laptops, but I think this one really hits the mark. The machine is thin, light, powerful, and elegant, no downsides.

Great screen, battery life. Physically lacking

The screen is really large and full HD, so everything looks really great, although really small on screen, but you can zoom in or adjust the resolution. I take notes in class with this laptop, so the battery life is really important and I try to maximize it. With my brightness turned to 0-20%, and power saving mode on, apparently there is about 11 hours of usage when I'm using word or powerpoint. One thing I dislike though is that the battery isn't removable, but it helps with portability. Now on to what I dislike about this laptop. This is probably specified already on the product page, but there is NO ethernet port, no CD drive, only 2 regular USB ports and 1 different type of USB port that I don't really know what fits into it, an HDMI port, and an SD card reader. The lack of ethernet port and CD drive is probably to improve portability, and you get used to not having them. Having only 2 USB ports is actually really annoying though. The keyboard on the laptop is another thing I dislike. It may not seem like a big deal but there's no number pad, The keyboard is centered and there's so much extra space on the sides that they definitely could've fit a numberpad. Another extremely annoying thing is with the touch/mouse pad. If you apply too much pressure on the empty space of the bottom part of the laptop, it will cause the touchpad to register a click. Sometimes when I am typing and resting my wrists on the space beneath the keyboard, my cursor will click causing me to type in between some random words. This is where the lack of USB ports gets really annoying. I bought a separate wireless mouse/keyboard set, which fortunately both function with just one USB, otherwise I would have needed to use both USB ports for the mouse and keyboard. This leaves me with only one free USB port, which makes it a real hassle if I wanted to transfer something from one flashdrive to another. Another bad design is the volume buttons on the side. You need to press it in a certain spot for the volume to actually change, Most of the time I have to press it a few times to get to that spot. Another big issue I have is the actual volume output. When the laptop isn't plugged in, there is a LOT of static noise that comes and goes. When plugged in, the sound is great though. I listed a lot of the things I found bad with the laptop, but for what I use it for, school work, those negatives are fairly tolerable.

I use it as a base replacing a CPU. I like how fast it is, and I use it with my Ultra Sharp monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse. Makes a very good system. I can disconnect it and put it in my briefcase and go anywhere with it. Works great

I purchased this laptop to replace my old toshiba (that had nothing but problems). I've owned it for 6 months and it's heavily used. I purchased it for work and have been extremely happy with it. It's lightweight so easy to take when I travel but still need to work. I wish there were more USB ports (there are 2) but speed was more important when I purchased the computer. I rarely use the touch screen feature since it's for work but it's nice to have that option to quickly open or enlarge something by touching the screen.

Purchased this laptop using one of BB's edu discounts for 500$. The performance for the price payed is very good. Touch responds very well and laptop does not come with a lot of junk SW installed. The SSD performance is fairly good although it is not one of the best out there. The switch between tablet and laptop mode is easy. However, the touchpad takes some getting used to as it does not respond very smoothly. The weight prevents holding the laptop in tablet mode in one had for a long time.

I needed a new laptop to replace my 3-year-old ASUS. I was in the middle of a job search and starting my own business and this Inspiron 15 hit the mark. Fast. Easy to use. Lot of nice features like the touch screen. I haven't even had the chance or need to try them all, but whatever you want in a laptop this has. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.

I had been searching for a long time for a laptop that would suit my needs. For a great part of my educational career I had used lower end/refurbished laptops. I wanted to invest in a machine that would meet my academic needs as well as my social needs (streaming TV online, picture storage, apps, etc). I was impressed with this machine, not only because of its capabilities but its solid state nature of its hard drive (which eliminates the computer crashing due to over heating) and my ability to convert it to a tablet without damaging the computer. Its solid, functional, sexy to look at and I cannot complain. Even my BF who is a MacBook user was HIGHLY impressed and wanted to switch computers with speaks volumes. I would buy again if I could.

I would recommend the 7000 series Dell laptop with a SSD to anyone who has a hard drive laptop. After having 2 hard drives crash in my previous laptops, a SSD is the only way to go and is definitely worth the additional cost. The 6th generation Intel i5 processor works faster than the i3 processor in my old 3000 series laptop and I love the hi def touch screen too!

Have used for a month or two now and it has been great. Touch screen is fast and accurate. Battery life so far has been better than ot states. Even though its the 15in it is easy to used on my lap and due to it being so thin its not bad to travel with or take to class.

My purchase wasn't the product I had chosen ahead of time but was convinced to buy this one because of longer battery life. No regrets there or on the choice of a Dell and especially no regrets on the solid state drive which is quick and responsive. I'm keeping this 2 in 1 but if I were to do it over I would have gone for a laptop with a disc drive and a numeric keypad, neither of which are commonly available on a 2 in 1. Love the light weight, like the tablet function but could have lived without it. Looking forward to using this purchase for note taking in class in the new semester , , ,right after I master some idiosyncrasies with the keyboard. Nothing major, just teaching the fingers some new patterns!

This was brought for college use. I've had it for about 1 mouth at this point and so far this laptop far exceeds expectations. First, the computer looks and feels like a high priced laptop. Keyboard types smooth and feels natural. As for the hardware, you can't beat the specs for the price. Not only can I easily multitask with multiple windows and programs open at once, the computer doesn't really heat up while doing so. The computer even runs the game smite at a high frame rate and smoothly. The only complaint is the location of the power button which I have hit accidentally multiple times, but if that's the biggest complaint I have, I'll take it.
