Have only owned for 1 month. But, it is fast, and I appreciate the larger screen and capability to convert to tablet. Only thing I would change is the power plug in jack that goes into the computer. It sticks straight out and would much rather have one that sits flat (to help eliminate any stress on inside power plug) if cord is tugged or stretched.

Great security. For the camera face recognition, it is incredibly fast. Sometimes the camera doesn't turn on. Even though it is not I solid state it still runs pretty quick. There are times you do have to be patient.
Amazing tablet function!!! Great tablet recognition.

This laptop is fast and looks good is light weight to be 17"
Touch pad and camera work very well! The biggest cons are few USB ports and no Ethernet plug, wireless only. One port is 2.0 one is a 3.0 and then a new USB "c". You néed special plug for that one.
I have no trouble dealing with it fast wireless and fast start. The brushed stainless look is very nice to look at.

Completely enjoy using this Dell Inspiron 17. Has fast start up with face recognition, clear and beautiful display thanks to exceptional video card. It has plenty of storage. Windows 10 has many tutorial videos to get you working fast.

(After a month of use)
Pros:
Gorgeous finish.Very sleek and surprisingly light for a large laptop. I actually find myself using the touchscreen often because of the 360 bend. The display quality is great, the blacks are actually black and not an off shade of gray blue. Great for multitasking (i.e. chrome, krita, and a game or two plus skype can all be open and run smoothly all at once)Runs chrome smoothly. I can run games like gw2, witcher 3, overwatch, and outlast without a hitch thanks to the graphics card and processor reaching and staying at 56 to 60 fps even after playing for while.
Con's:
Does not have a DVD tray and only USB port ( but it includes a type C port). After an hour or two of intense use the fans tend to get loud enough to notice. It sounds as if there was a mini lawnmower powering up inside your laptop. To fix that just get a cooling tray so it doesn't have completely blocked vents.
Over all as a past inspiron user, this is a good bit of a step up and worth what you pay for. Definitely happy with this laptop.

This review is for the Dell - Inspiron 2-in-1 17.3" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce 940MX - 1TB Hard Drive - Gray
Not really a Dell fan but I think they did really well with this one. Depending on what your needs are. I use this one for my graphic/motion graphic designs. Holds up really well. It's also pretty thin for a 17 inch. The only complaint I had was that it doesn't have a disc drive because it acts as a notebook also. But how much is a disc drive used these days?
Wouldn't recommend for the hardcore gamer. Don't think that's the intention for these 2-in-1's. I'd say this is probably a mid-tier to high-tier computer. High for laptop needs, mid for heavier needs. It's actually faster than a pricier HP with the same specs I had a month prior.

I only used this laptop for 2 weeks when the hard drive died. I took it into Geek Squad right away and they were very helpful! It was still under warranty so they sent back to Dell to get a new hard drive and they allow you to track every step of the way including where it is at in transit as well as the repair process. I'm not super thrilled that I had to deal with this so soon but the staff has been very helpful. The laptop its self is great! Good speed, great picture, and I love the big screen. I use Microsoft office mainly and did some pretty heavy gaming for a few days and the laptop didn't even get that warm. I plan on running some more robust programs (AutoCAD and ArcGIS) but didn't get chance to install them and try it out.

I'm not a computer geek nor snob. My interests are simple whether there is a fruit emblem or lettering as the company logo: longevity and graphics. I game, not fanatically, but enough that I don't want glitching, stalling or lo-res. This computer runs an Nvidia card; not their top-of-the-line but more than enough to handle almost anything on the market at this point at half the price of a dedicated gaming computer. Beyond that it has seventh generation I-core i7 processing. No chip on the market is newer more powerful or faster, leading to some of the strongest longevity out there. I expect five years of keeping up with the Internet Joneses for both graphics processing and sheer power. Divided out that's about $200 a year or $17 a month, very reasonable given the capability of this machine. Beyond that it is very simple to use, quite slick. And, pound for pound, faster than any MacBook available today. So I understand the cachet and snobbery of Apple appeal, but in the end this unit just draws first blood. Beyond that when you look at the sheer capability of the machine given it's 1 TB hard drive and 16 gig of internal memory, it is easy to understand that the processor when paired with its memory processing capability can't be touched at any price. And for further consideration, the touchscreen and the flipability of the screen enhance its ease-of-use and overall family versatility. Highly recommended.

In general, I’ve been happy with it… Screen is wide, colors seems very sharp, processor is fast! More importantly, I have not run into problems with windows 10 as I did with my older laptop! The only downside is that battery life is not that great, and the laptop is heavier than I thought, so tablet mode is not that practical. But I personally prefer the bigger screen as I normally use it as a laptop, not tablet. If portability and battery life is important, go for the 15” or 13”.

I was very skeptical about initially buying this laptop because the spec's seem to good to be true for the price. I bought this laptop to do some light gaming for the price and it can surprisingly handle any mmorpg. Granted, you won't be playing on ultra settings. On low settings this machine can run a stable 62 fps. Screen looks great. Touchscreen is surprisingly fun didn't think I'd use tablet mode so often but it's nice for Web browsing and Netflix. This thing is awesome!

This is an overall really nice computer. I like the graphics, speed and the numerical settings on the right hand side. What I find kind of weird is that there isn't any disc drive. I really didn't notice until I got home and had to download some items. I'm not sure if i like this or not. I guess I should've checked it out more before I left the store. I'll have to find out if this is the future of all Laptops.

My laptop crashed and burned while deployed to Afghanistan. My wife found this one as replacement for me. I has most of the features I need and use; however, it did not come with a disc drive nor an Ethernet port and it only has two USB ports. Other than missing some hardware items, the operating system and start up have been better than expected and it performs better than my HP Envy did.

I decided to buy a Dell with all the latest upgrades I could get. This includes i7 intel processor 2.7 ghtz 16 gb RAM 1 tb hard drive and so on. My getting all of the above and more I now own one of the fastest up to date solid computer with high end graphics and the Ram to multi-task the graphics and actually form some wonderful displays all within one screen and print out some of the most beautiful Christmas cards that are much better than store bought Greetings card softwares a mere download away. This Computer never ceases to amaze me and I got a great deal on it from Best Buy and alsi purchased a set of ProMedia 2.0 BT Speakers that are the best Bluetooth computer speakers on the market They can easily double ss home stereo speakers. I know have a great computer with great speakers all at a unbelievable cost. Thank you Best Buy Kevin Stowell

It is a very good laptop. It is fast , light and good looking. So far I have not found any problems with it. The only thing I do not like is that it comes with a 1T hard drive which makes it very slow. After I replaced it with a SSD, it is perfect.

Having had a desk top and a tablet but in need of new ones, this laptop is like the best of both worlds. Very user friendly and adaptable to both devices. I needed a larger screen so I'm not as apt to use it as a tablet but the touchscreen capability makes usage as practical as if I were using my tablet. The speed is great. The amount of memory for all the programs I use is phenomenal. I would highly recommend it.

The screen is large gorgeous. 1080p movies are sharp with excellent colors. Lots of memory and a peppy processor tackle tasks easily. Yes there is no optical drive, but external optical drives are rather inexpensive. With the USB-C connector you can plug in a 4-port USB 3.0 hub for plenty of expansion. With the memory, CPU and display capabilities it seems a shame that Dell hobbled this with a slow 5400 rpm mechanical HDD. I know it is a 1TB and 1TB SSD are still a bit expensive, but it is so slow. Luckily I had a 1TB SSD waiting to be used. I imaged the HDD to the SSD before even turning on the PC so the setup and install has all been on the speedy SSD. I know that this might be a bit much for the average user, but if you have a computer nerd friend, do it, or have the GS do it for you. It makes this Big Beautiful guy fly like an eagle.
