Would have given a 5 star rating but my only issue is that it heats up and will shut off if you have it behind a glass door. Other than that is works wonderfully. I have in wall speakers with a sub. This has more than enough power for all! Also a lot of extra features that I like, like pandora.

This is great receiver and BestBuy price matched this item. I don't use bluetooth or wifi but I did use wifi once for firmware update. This receiver supports 4k HDR and 2k but not 2.5K or any resolutions in between. I would like a receiver without bluetooth or wifi in exchange for more watts or other audio feature, bluetooth sounds like it has to much bass in it. For music I use iTunes match and Tidal with receiver connected to HDMI of laptop for best sound. Two screens, one connected to laptop and other screen (1080p) connected to receiver. I will get 4k HDR computer screen in future when available for receiver. I have 7.1 speaker set-up or 5.1.2, same thing.

Now, I am biased as this is my 3rd Denon receiver in 20-25 years but I found myself in the market for a new one recently when a storm took out the HDMI functionality of my 8 year old AVR 789. The remote is great (much better than the 789), setup was easy, and of course it is plenty powerful for my 7.1 + Zone 2 home theater system. Three year warranty awesome too. I did use the auto calibration but was not happy with the results. I could have spent the time to recalibrate but decided to trust my own ears. I do wish that at this price point, Denon (and other manufacturers) would include digital out to Zone 2 but they don't so I once again have to find a workaround via converters. At least now I have the option of using Bluetooth to Zone 2 and network connectivity (wired and wifi), options that weren't readily available when I bought my last one. Looking forward to many more years with this great receiver.

This Receiver is loaded with options and programability. It was very easy to setup, complete with and onscreen wizard that walks you through everything. I have setup about a dozen theatre and family room systems over the years and this was the easiest one yet. There is a self tuning capability complete with mic (and a cheesy but effective card board tri-pod to hold the mic) that works quite well. It drives my speakers hard and creates a good sound. There are lots of movie sound options as well, so you don't have to keep the encoding of the movie if you don't like the way the DTS or Dolby digital sounds. Love that there is 6 HDMI input, the network connectivity, and the blue tooth connectivity. The wife and kids are constantly connecting their iphones to the reciever and streaming their music. You can even web into the reciever and change more settings, such as display text for inputs, etc. Great piece of equipment for the price, I highly recommend it.

One can consider me to be a junior-varsity level audiophile. After moving into my new house, I just had to purchase a decent receiver for a den that had been professionally wired for surround sound and an outdoor deck with weather-resistant speakers. This system sounds great, was easy enough for me to hook-up and start-up (junior-varsity level tech-and-gadget guy). It seamlessly integrates with my home network so I can easily play iTunes from my laptop to either of the two potential zones. This system was a bit over the budget I set, but I went for it anyway. So glad that I did!! Dual zones. Seamless internet and home-network integration. Great quality even with Bluetooth connections.

I went to the Magnolia store having a general idea on what I wanted. When I left, I was happy with what I got. When I got everything working, however...boy was I in for a surprise!
A ton of HDMI connections, easy set up, great power to all channels....a receiver I recommend for those who are on a budget, but want the latest and greatest in codecs. I've enjoyed Atmos and DTS:X since purchase.

My speakers have never sounded better. The front is ugly but user friendly. Works flawlessly with my Harmony remote and other components. I do wish there was a SS card slot. Our Panasonic TV has one and we use it regularly to play back videos of kids events from sports, cheer, orchestra,,,.

This is my second Denon receiver. We are waiting on Geek Squad to trouble shoot this one because we've experience some intermittent problems within a week or two of installation. When it's working fine (which is most of the time) it meets our needs perfectly.
Hopefully GS will replace this one....might be defective.

Solid build quality, good power. Very descriptive detailed 8 step automated setup via the TV with included mic. Includes a cardboard stand you assemble. But I used my tripod. DTS X is a nice feature. Remote is nice. Has quick source selections. Can use up and down buttons to cycle back and forth thru GUI menu such as choosing DTS, Dolby Surround or DTS X easily instead of having to press a button over and over to cycle thru settings one way. Has enough inputs for what we need.

Best Denon Receiver Yet

This is my third Denon Receiver. The first was an entry level many years ago. Then later I purchased a top of the line when Circuit City went out of business. That one served me well and is now in use upstairs in the exercise room. The current one was a necessary purchase since I needed the receivers capabilities to handle 4K and HDR on a new television. This is doing a great job of being the center of my home theater system. Everything runs through the receiver: 4K LG TV (ARC connection), Roku, Cable Box, DVD player. There are enough HDMI slots to handle all of my needs. Additionally this is the easiest receiver to learn and use. Having said that there is a learning curve. To get the full benefit of this receiver it is a must that you read the manual. Just plugging it in and using it will certainly work, but there are many features that require user input to activate. I down loaded the manual to my iPad and then each day read one or two sections and applied what I learned. I purchased this on sale but would have paid full price. One note: this review is for Denon AVR X1300.

Purchased as an upgrade to the Onkyo TX-NR626 7.2 for native 4k. I absolutely loved the audio that came from my Onkyo and was frankly nervous about moving to Denon. After setting up through audyssey, I can tell you the audio is just as brilliant, if not more refined. I also appreciate the Bluetooth function allowing you to connect to any HDMI input while listening to your music. I've also had zero connectivity issues in pairing 4k 60fps on my PC or using the PS4 Pro. My 2 gripes are with the outdated remote (my $200 Yamaha receiver remote handles better than this) that feels very cheap & the lack of Dolby Pro Logic II. It has now been replaced with Dolby Surround which effectively removes my center channel from a stereo upmix. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this receiver & highly recommend it.

Sound and video quality is outstanding, setup was easy and logical. Easy to use remote. Love watching star wars and Star Trek movies, the sound is awesome. Only reason I only gave i 4 stars is because it doesn't have the ability to upscale hd picture to 4K quality. Would have bought the more expensive model if I had known that.

Bought this receiver to replace 8 year old one in my home theater. It was easy to install and set up including all the wireless connectivity. The sound is excellent and it has a lot of great features that my old one lacked. Calibrating the system to my room was very easy and only took about 15 minutes using the Audyssey capability. My only problem has been an intermittent connection to SirriusXM which I believe is a problem with SirriusXM and not the receiver.

Bought to replace an Onkyo unit that stopped working after about 12 years. It was an open box item, but no issues with it either cosmetically or in its workings. Now all of our devices hooked up through the hdmi ports, the sound is far superior to what we thought to be great before, and has many capabilities we are still figuring out. It was the display unit from what I gather, but it enabled us to get a great deal on a unit for our needs.

Bought this receiver because my Harmon Kardon gave up. It's a little more than I wanted to pay, but worth it. All my HDMI equipment connected easily, but had to call tech support to get my analogue cassette deck working. They answered fairly quickly, were pleasant and patient and got my deck working, but it took awhile. Great sound and good power with my Polk 5.1 surround sound speakers. I really liked the bluetooth which let me use my Spotify playlists. One annoying thing was it downloaded an update right while playing my music on New Year's without warning! Great receiver if everything is digital.

I had an old Denon and upgraded my whole system for 4K technology. I'm running Definitive Technology BP8040ST towers and matching center across the front with a 12" Klipsch sub and two Polk 8" rear surrounds. I used the microphone set up to calibrate the system. SOUNDS AMAZING. I hope I can use the Atmos technology but when I wired my
basement I didn't take that into account. I do have two wire drops above my towers but not sure if they are too far forward or not. Anyway, this was a great buy and I love it has HDMI 2.2 and many USB connections!

My wife and I purchased a 4k ultra TV and found that our 13 year old Denon surround sound system would not provide the signal needed to get the true 4k experience. After speaking with the Best Buy sound specialist we decided on this receiver. Set up at home was straight forward with all installation instructions shown on our TV screen. We calibrated it with the microphone and Mic stand that was included and we obtained what we believe to be an awesome surround sound experience in our home. The receiver has our blue ray, cable, ps4, iPod, and pc running through it and all sound great. The remote included is super easy to learn and use. If you don't want to use a remote you can just download a free app for your phone to control it. Our last Denon system was great and lasted 13 years before technological advances caused us to upgrade. That old Denon is now rocking my daughter's living room. Her husband has already been eye balling this receiver. I told him perhaps in 13 years they may get this Denon. High quality, easy to use, and a very trusted brand.

The set up on this receiver was remarkably easy. Clear, step-by-stop, on screen instructions (even told you how to properly strip the speaker wire). I was impressed.
I purchased this receiver to replace a 6-year old Denon that had stopped working. My previous Denon was a bear to set up and change. The manual was so poorly written, that it took forever to make a change. I am happy to say that with this model, that has all changed.
As far as the quality goes, it does the job perfectly.
