I thought AVR S970H would be more powerful. I had an AVR 3313 for the last 9-10 years. Loved it. Thought newer models would be substantially better, new technology and all. Not the case for me. IMO. Easy setup, The Audyssey isn't good. I had to turn the volume up 65 in order to get decent power. I ended up doing a manual speaker set up. WHich was better. Still turn it up to high 60's low 70's for decent sound. My AVR-3313 volume at 50 was enough. Although the S970H sounds decent it's not as powerful as the 3313. Maybe because I had the same receiver for 10 years. Not used to the new one yet. We'll see. I can always take it back. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this. But i'm finicky.

This receiver rocks! I own one of its big brothers and you can link them together in your house via wireless and have audio playing everywhere. This is awesome if you’re having a party and want to play the same tunes everywhere. The value is great and the feature set is awesome. You can even configure the receiver from a PC once you configure the wireless on it. It’s like programming a printer via its built-in web interface. Denon receivers have more balls than Sony receivers.

Absolutely this sound system. The Wifi and Bluetooth capability allows us to connect to our wifi for radio and to our Smart TV for sound. All our devices from TV to gaming systems can connect to it and the sound is perfecf and clear. It also allows us to customize the title to the different connections to make it easy to switch.

Replaced an older Denon. Easy to set up. Sounds great.

Excellent receiver puts out a clear clean sound with crisp and dynamic bass I have had mine for a couple of weeks surround sound is in credible receiver is connected to BOSE surround speakers along with an extra sub woofer easy connections and easy wifi connection.

I did a lot of research when I bought this and decided this was the one for me. I am so glad I purchased this because it makes my whole surround sound so much better than my previous receiver. It was easy to hook up and adjust and it looks great to. I got it on sale and it is worth every penny i paid. I would definitely recommend this and I would buy it again if the situation arises

First time trying a Denon, I love it. A decent price for a very nice av, so easy to set up and tune to your room. I would do it agin.

Good sound quality and a lot option on Heos app easy setup

The value of this was clear. I have a Denon running my video set up, and when my old Nakamichi died that ran extra speakers through the house and outside deck, I knew this would be the solution. I spoke to Danny @Danbury who was pretty young, but super knowledgable. He taught me to look at the back of the receiver and you will see the true power thats delivered per channel. This was double what a 100 watt yamaha at same price point delivers. And then it went on sale a week later, I started an online chat, and kinda instantly, they told me how to claim competitor pricing on the site, and poof, a $150 credit came my way. Lastly, I made a joke telling him Im only interested in McIntosh. He took me to the magnolia room and played an $80k set up. WOW that was a different level, but it demonstrated the quality of sound you get when you look at it per channel, because with McIntosh, thats what the gauges are for!. For the price, the S970h is a no brainer.

It's been close to a month and really liking this receiver . My 12 year old Onkyo 7.1 Home Theater receiver went so I chose this one. Set up and operation are straight forward and no issues so far!!

This is my first Denon receiver and it exceeded all of my expectations. The sound and video quality is awesome. I even use it for karaoke ;)

Easy to install. Sounds great hooked up to the surround sound. We did have to download the dennon app. Bluetooth links easily

Great sound and plenty of sound options including upgraded Bluetooth connectivity. I am using the full potential of the receiver with front, surround and rear surround speakers plus subwoofer. Plenty of power. This is an upgrade from my previous Denon A/V receiver and have been pleased with both.

Great sound system works well with my lg hdr tv and all my components

I replaced a Pioneer with a low end Yamaha. As I was buying a new 4K TV, DVD player, speakers I went low end with the 4K Yamaha. Big mistake. Keeps dropping surround sound settings constantly. I researched new receivers for a few weeks before buying this Denon and it is miles above my last one. Set it and forget it. Easy set up. Good manual. Many sound modes, maybe every surround sound choice there is. Good buy.

Great head unit plenty of power and has the ability to use a second monitor separate from the main.

I couldn't be happier. There's a bit of a learning curve but their tech support is fantastic. I needed tech support because the setup assumes it for TV and HDMI. I bought it for whole-house, built-in stereo. The tech walked me through the setup. 5 stars because I can turn it on ( Blue Tooth + WIFI) from my phone by selecting the music I wish to play ( Apple Music or YouTube Music). It turns off at 15,30, or 60 minutes of inactivity.

Excellent sound quality and easy to setup. Paired with Klipsch speakers with amazing results.

No issues at all with this unit out of the box. Very easy to setup and it was a great price with the BB plus membership.
