Q: does this receiver has an arc output
A: Wondered the same thing, check here. It supports eARC https://www.denon.com/en-us/product/av-receivers/avr-x1700h The reason this is helpful is if you have a receiver with ARC you can go from your TV to your receiver then to your speakers. This is better otherwise you have to have a firestick, cable box, etc going to your receiver then to your TV. With ARC you can use the built-in features of the TV and still get your 7.1 speakers pumping.
Q: When in November exactly, will this receiver be available at BestBuy?
A: I had a Pre-Order with a very large and reputable Authorized Denon Retailer who sent me an email yesterday changing the ship date from 11/22/2021 to Unknown. The reason was that the Manufacturer (Denon) changed the ship date, and they could not get a specific ship date. Again, this wasn't a Best Buy order but from another retailer. Initially, the date was 11/22.
Q: I am a beginner is this a good buy for my first home theater and what speakers would you you suggest
A: Great buy If you want something somewhat future proof as it comes with 3 hdmi 2.1 inputs. This allows you to connect an XboxX or PS5 and take advantage of 4k/ 120hz. Depending on your budget, I would recommend the Kef Q series speakers. The bookshelfs are currently on sale and a great value.
Q: Does the amp have a power setting so you can lower to total watt output?
A: Hi DT, It does, although it isn't necessarily a matter of being able to assign a wattage number for the maximum output (most receivers never output their full power unless the user is trying hard to upset the people in the next village). The feature is called Eco Mode. In this mode, the AVR-X1700H (and our other receivers) will operate with a reduced overall power draw. The sound quality will still be very good, but there will be less emphasis on sonic dynamics. It will also reduce the brightness of the front panel display (the display brightness can also be adjusted manually).
A: SiriusXM is supported using the HEOS app. HEOS is included in the Denon AVR-X1700H.
Q: Will my Netflix, Amazon prime movies work with this sound system and not just tv speakers ?
A: So long as you connect speakers to this receiver, Netflix and Amazon will indeed work with this.
Q: Can I hook up a 7 channel amp up to this ? Thanks
A: Hello, The AVR-X1700H has a pre-out for Zone 2, but not a pre-out for a 7 channel external amplifier. For a 7 channel external power amplifier, the AVR-X3800H is the model to consider, as it has the necessary pre-outs.
A: I don't think you should have a problem doing that...go for it. I calibrated the speakers myself.
