Poor battery replacement for my Sony camera

I do not know if this is an old battery, but I will not buy another replacement battery for my Sony from Best Buy. This battery did not keep a charge while I was on vacation. I had to charge it twice. I feel that is too many times for a brand new battery.
And I cannot return it as I do not believe I have the receipt. .
