i bougth this unit about a month ago and returned it for a various reasons. But i do want to commend for constructing on the basics such as no drifts good scratching , sound qaulity, compact nice screen size and for quick all in one true setup . But what would be a nice option to zoom in on titles especially if use in club or party where low lighting . However the number one reason i returned because im constantly updating files on the go and the anylising process is just to slow for me. Fader feels real flimsy . And if broken no replacible so one would have to return to bestbuy and wait for who knows how long that will take to get to stanton and returnd. No hot cues or eq for mic come on we are in 2011.A slight fast start that only a good ear dj would notice and yes i tried the settings. But not with all songs and just in scratch mode. i also think ther should be some type of tension or resistance knob for jog wheel plate .However if they fix and update i would pay extra to have thisunit. hopefully scs 5 the successor will have all! Curently i use denon 1200 with a mackie d2pro mixer and coffin has some wieght. I was just so hype about this unit and try to ignore common functions but prevail not.

Went out of my way to get my hands on this unti because it seemed to be exactly what I need. Being a DJ for 8 years or so, most times I show up at a gig, the gear is there for me. For the times when its not, all I have to do is throw this in a bag and I'm on my way. Functionality is great. Effects are fun. Screen is clear and bright. Jog wheels are sturdy. Cue buttons are responsive. I recommend this product to any DJs that need a mobile unit for any occasion.

Difficult to Beat this for the Price

After researching this product and consulting with a professional DJ friend of mine, who uses this model much of the time, my choice was actually quite easy. At first blush I was impressed by the feel of the machine. Quite obviously some serious engineering went into making it have the feel of a dual turn-table unit. The next observation was the many modes of input afforded by the Stanton Digital DJ Mixstation. Thirdly, I was impressed by the intuitive operation. Not only does the mixstation allow the DJ to create and even record mixes for later burning to a CD of other means of transfer, but it also has an auto-pilot mode that comes in great when the DJ needs a brief break. Since no computer is needed, setup can be accomplished in literally 60 seconds or less. A computer can be brought alone and songs transferred quickly from the computer to the mixstation with a simple jumpdrive. Since the device supports multiple modes of input from a hard drive to any other USB device, accessing a vast library of music is a breeze. Overall, I am impressed with the unit and delighted that I followed the advice of my friend and took the leap to the Stanton. With BestBuy's liberal return policy, it is a no-brainer to give this unit a try. Whether for professional use or just to entertain yourself and your friends, this unit will not disappoint.

The processor is very slow navigating through different songs and options. Screen is very small. Other than that, everything works perfect. It's very light which is good if your a portable. If you need dj equipment for business, get something that requires a laptop or desktop because you get a big screen and a faster processor.

I got this product right when it came out and i loved it from the get go. Not having to use a computer and the simplicity of it is amazing! literally just plug and play. The screen is super clear and easy to read and it feels like im scratching with turntables. i have never been one for the controllers but this year has been huge for me turning over to them its crazy! i have hada chance to use all of the controllers out on the market right now and THIS one has been my favorite! i am a dj yes i play in clubs and from time to time i do smaller intimate gigs and this is perfect for it! being able to jump folders or see the wave forms is great. Having the cue point to start is sick and the effects oh man the effects! Built in effects that YOU can control is awesome! How much you want to use or how less you want or might need. super clear and fun! It took me a few days to learn the SCS 4 Dj but im a super fan of it! Def buy this if you are looking to learn how to dj on a budget or as a new cool controller ot add to your set up! Whatever it may be get it!

For the money, it is pretty hard to beat. Purchased as a backup system for my Traktor rig, and it provides 80% of the functions, with the added bonus of not having to bring my work computer with me. Sync works really well, and the FX sound great.

After months and months of researching different dj controllers, I decided to purchase the Stanton Mixstation. I've had it now for about 6 weeks and so far it has turned out to be a great choice. I am not a professional dj, I mainly like to mix and scratch in my spare time. And scratching on the Mixstation exceeded my expectations. The sound, feel of the platters, and control are all great. I know that it isn't exactly that vinyl sound, but seems pretty close compared to other products I have researched. It takes time to analyze your songs, but with the new software update, it has gotten quicker. Very portable, since you don't need a laptop, and has great sound. From beginner djs to more experienced ones, I think this is a nice controller to purchase.

I picked up one these today and immediately returned it. Everything abou tit is cheap and gimmicky. The software that comes with it won't read all of your file sor put them into wave form (e.i so you can loop, etc) The effects on the mixer are also cheesy and barely do anything. Better to just get a Kaos Pad instead. This mixer is a joke.

Dont buy this, if you want a good mixer go with the Numark N4, it is actually good, and the same price, I would not recommend this.
