    A classic redone

I am a final fantasy fan of 20 years. Whenever the original Dissidia came out, I saved up everything I could to buy a PSP to play it on release day and then played it's sequel. When I bought a Vita, the first thing that I did was download these digitally from the store. While I wasn't sure about the incorporation of a 3 vs 3 model for this new installation to the series, it slowly grew on me during the Beta and I was fully in love by release. Note that if you are not used to fast paced, 3D brawlers like this game there is a tutorial system to teach you all the basics you will need to know. I go back in regularly to redo these to freshen up my skills since the games release. Beautiful game, great story, easy-to-learn handling. If you are a Final Fantasy fan, you need to pick this up. My roommates have even gotten enjoyment out of just watching me play the matches and I have walked in multiple times to them picking up the controller to give it a try themselves. Even better, the development team is wanting to expand the roster to include 40 characters so there is variety and more to learn and love!

After playing hundreds of hours of the previous games and then anticipating this game for many years, I can safely say I'm disappointed. The option for 1v1s (standard in nearly every fighting game, at least more recent ones) is completely overshadowed by a forced 3v3 mode which becomes incredibly chaotic and any team synergy almost seems nonexistent unless you have a few friends that play it, making practice very tough. Another disappointing thing is the removal of of the assist system that originally came from Duodecim (the second game) and just like Marvel/Fighterz it helped set up stronger combos but in this game you have to rely on a team which just 1v1 each other anyway so it doesn't matter. Another huge, (and I mean this was a really REALLY big feature in the previous games) is customizable bravery attacks which you usually had an option of approximately 8 per character (maybe more, maybe less) which you could attach to certain button combos like circle and up or just circle. The story mode albeit good so far is annoying to finish because you need this in-game currency known as Memoria which unlock sections of the story which either contain cutscenes or a battle but if you want to see the whole thing you'll need to do a LOT of grinding so have fun with that. Those are just a few complaints of many that I have and as for the positives, I can say that the music is phenomenal still and the remixes are all metal/rock based, making them more intense. Another great thing apart from music and the obvious graphics is the increase amount of skins per character, with each character containing 6 (I believe) as opposed to the 2-3 in the previous games. All in all if you don't mind 3v3s (or as I like to refer to it 3 simultaneous 1v1s) then this game could be for you but if not play Duodecim on the PSP (don't play the first one because duodecim is literally the definitive game because it has the story of the first one plus its other content), much better in the gameplay and story aspect.

    Fun game, but lacking.

This is a great game if you're a fan of all things Final Fantasy. It's a 3v3 arena "fighter" featuring many characters from the franchise. I would not liken it to Smash Bros featuring FF, because that's not quite what this is. The game is fun, if not a little simplistic, and has some net connectivity issues, though hard to tell if this is because of playerbase (or a lack thereof) or just bad netcode. Definitely worth playing, but the game is admittedly missing some things that other Dissida entries enjoyed.

I managed to keep my expectations for this game fairly low considering how much flack it was receiving for its new 3 person team combat style. I kind of enjoy this because it forces you to choose multiple characters (even if you only choose the same 3 person team), instead of only playing one character as I am prone to find one I like and stick with him/her. The story is about what you expect and the 3 person team can drastically change the fighting style to make it much more interesting. The gameplay is smooth and the graphics are great if not quite exceptional.

    Great Game Not Popular Enough

The game is super fun, though there are some things that are missing. Like a better story and how you play that story. Everything evolves around the Multiplayer in this game or Offline Gauntlet. You get unlock tokens for the story which take some time to get. The story is good just not long enough or doesn't FEEL long enough since most parts are just cinematic to show off the graphics of Dissidia. The Online play is fun but not anything to get excited about. it had a good launch and whether or not it runs on servers is completely up for debate you do lag on occasion since the game doesn't seem to look in your region first before extending the search. I have fun playing it. I will give it 5 stars because I feel like this game was overwhelmed and out sold because of Square's bad business practices, because a week prior Lost Sphear came out and so anyone looking forward to that game didn't get dissidia at that moment. So Square I think hurt their own sales when it came to Dissidia.

Play style is very similar with different objectives and is great as a 3v3 and especially with a competitive mode that’s very fun. Every character is different and they’re all fun to play. Noctis is super fun to play and almost feels like FFXV!

The game is fun once you get the hang of it but gets frustrating when you reach higher ranks or have bad team mates. It can get repetitive, but the music keeps you entertained. Not many modes to choose from either just online fighting or npcs, always 3v3. Fun if you like competitive online

I love Final Fantasy, but fighters are hit or miss for me, no pun intended. It didn't win me over. No real story mode beside cutscenes you grind through battles to see. Looks great though. I have to imagine if you're into both though, you could thoroughly enjoy this.

Dissidia NT is mostly for multiplayer gaming. Don't expect a single player experience. There is a story mode, but in order to progress through it you must do matches to earn points which unlock story segments.

Great Game for any Final Fantasy Fan! I Would reccommend this game to anyone that has played any of the past final fantasies! Plenty of fan service, nostalgia and fun gameplay. Although there isnt a 2 player mode, The campaign was fun and has plenty of cool interactions between the main characters of each Final Fantasy.

I knew what I was getting when I bought this. But even knowing I still hoped there was a better single player story...NOPE.. If you loved the story of the other ones and that was your favorite part this might be a watch and not buy. If your wanting to do pvp with final fantasy characters then look more into this game.

this is not the dissidia from the psp. this is a cash grab, lazy, generic 3v3 game with none of the awesome that was in previous games. its also dead online and square has stopped supporting it. dont bother with it.

This is a very niche fighting game. While i would absolutely recommend the older games, this one is harder to. I like the story mode but it is complicated and the bosses seem unfair, hindering your progress and taking up your time in a way that is wasteful. The game feel seems off as well, you kind of need to plan out what you are going to do, it feels like the controls are delayed compared to the old ones. While I have a real good time with this game it feels like its all a little off and it makes the experience of the game very bittersweet, because we have been waiting a long time for this game to arrive.
