Really enjoying this games story me and my 6 year old son are laughing alot. I love seeing my nostalgia with my son it makes me proud to see him laugh at Kakarot's silliness. The gameplay is smooth and looks good we've been re watching Dragon Ball Super Tournament Of Power he loves the fights this is perfect.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is an open world RPG that covers the entire series story over its very long runtime. Admittedly the gameplay can be repetitive but there’s still fun to be had exploring and following the narrative, leveling up characters, definitely a game made for those who are already fans.

If you were a fan of the Game Boy Advance "Legacy of Goku" games, then you may enjoy this game. However, much like the GBA titles, the blend of RPG and brawler combat may not sit well with certain fans of the famous anime series.
While combat is fast and manages to feel just as intense as many of the fights from the franchise, the AI can sometimes be a little clueless, or downright ruthless as they pummel players into the dirt. The RPG side of things also means that players must grind for experience, which is strangely inconsistent with what it offers early on. With that said, the Dragon World is beautifully recreated, and the character models look as though they've leapt from the television screen into the 3D world. If you're itching for a chance to enjoy the entire DBZ storyline, then this may be the game for you.

Alright a lot of people have been saying this game is either a hit or miss and I've got to say I'm leaning more towards the hit side. The pros are great visuals, amazing retelling of the story, awesome voice acting and easy to use combat system. The cons are enemies seem to be too consistent or similar, the side quests are a drag, and the skipped out on the super trunks vs perfect cell fight. Overall I think the rpg aspect of the game could be even better with some minor tweaks, but for those who are die hard DragonBall fans I definitely recommend it. I am just entering the cell games and I'm still loving it! Overall I'd give it an 8/10 and who knows what the possibilities for expansions into the battle of the gods, resurrection of F and maybe even GT

I absolutely love this game. Any DBZ fan will love this. Its an RPG with an open world you can explore. There is so much to look at and so much to do that I forget about the actually storyline. You can fly around, shoot Ki blast, & fight against random bot enemies. The storyline in DBZ: Kakarot sheds more light and gives background on certain characters and relationships such as the beginning of the game with Gohan and Goku spending quality time together. Its definitely a great game. Definitely better than Xenoverse 2 if you still have it. I did and I'm glad I made the switch.

This goes through the CANON story of dragon ball z. This means it follows the MANGA. So dont expect stuff like pikkon or garlic jr, or filler episode.
Visually it looks great.
Music is the original music from the Japanese anime. To some that might not be good since they grew up with Funimation but in my case I can go with either. It's a plus for me.
Gameplay is mixed. There are 4 main combos. You can have teams and do combination moves. You might get bored of it or you might like it.
Story is the same as always. If you want to relive the story, then this is perfect. If this is your first time going into dragon ball z, then it's a good jumping point. If your are tired of the story then this is a pass.

For all the diehard dragon ball fans out there, this is a great game. The rpg like style mixed with the right amount of fighting does the storyline justice, especially those true to the comics. However, the game is plague with repetitive fighting sequences and long load time. I recall one of the chapter had 6 or 7 load times bc it was jumping from different places and characters.
Overall I still like the game a lot and I spent many hours playing it.

The animation is excellent! It’s the perfect game for fans of dragon ball and dragon ball Z.
It has lots of the same play qualities and features as some of the best final fantasy games. Side quests, party play, collectible story pieces and more. The battles are difficult and action packed!! Perfect amount of free realm and RPG. Some missions are cannon to the story and some take you away from the central story.

First DBZ RPG that has depth with good graphics. It is a fighting game so the mechanics would definitely feel familiar and old (if you played the tenkaichi games). However, the main attraction is the open world mechanic. I find it satisfying to just fly around cities as Goku. I wish they could make you interact with environmental objects where you could just kamekameha a building LOL

If you are a fan of dragon ball you should get this game, is based on all dragon ball z from Raditz to Majin buu. the open world section of the game is no that great as i was expecting, the world looks amazing, and there's a few things to do here and there and that's it but the main quest's those are the highlights of the game, they are awesome!!! over all i enjoyed this and hope to get a sequel

The graphics in this game are fantastic! The story line is pretty great. It goes from the beginning of the whole story. I’m not done with the game yet because I’m taking my time. Normally I can just blast through games quickly. But again. I’m taking my time. This game is worth it! It’s fairly easy.

You can tell the developers have much appreciation for the source material. From the biggest moments and down to the smallest details, it’s all there. This is an action rpg that’s a treat to play. With a season pass in the wings, who knows how they’ll expand on the rich world of Dragon Ball Z.

If you like Dragon Ball Z, you'll like this. It follows the story well and gives you plenty of optional things to do including exploring the world. There are a few quirky things about how they fill in things between story events, but nothing outrageous.

I appreciate the effort put into this game. The gameplay is satisfying, but very repetitive. I don't think it's exactly what people wanted when it was first announced, but it's a good first try for a 3D RPG in the DBZ universe. The fights are played in more of a real time final fantasy way instead of an action rpg, legacy of goku/buu's fury way. Graphics are good and the boss battles are really fun.
Each character has many unlockable abilities that give you incentive to keep playing. However, the side quests are all very much the same. Most of them are searching for a specific item, or fishing, which can be frustrating. The loading times are also very annoying on PS4, but improved if played on a ps5 ssd. Hopefully feedback is taken and improved upon for a similar sequel.

If you aren't a fan of fighting games and didn't play FighterZ (even if you aren't I would highly recommend that for anyone) this is a game clearly made for the fans. It still hits those highs that you remember from the anime. If you can get past the typical fetch quests and open world trappings, this is an open world DBZ game for you.

Graphics and artwork are great. Storyline is authentic and has been shortened to ,short moments. Authenticity of voice acting was a must needed feature. Would recommend to anyone looking to live through the DBZ sagas in a true RPG

I have been waiting to play this game since I was a kid. I grew up in a divorced household. So I only got to watch DBZ at my Mom’s. It was always poor timing when I went to see my Dad because it was always when something super important was about to happen in the show: Goku vs. Frieza. Since then I have always wanted a DBZ game that told the entire story. I am so happy with this game it connected all the dots that had been blank as a kid from the show. What a great game! Overall this game gets a 9/10 !
