A story about friendship, building. Frame jutters a little. An annoying part is when the evil spirit dialogue comes up it's on skippable and stays on screen far too long and they still haven't patched that. I wish for part 3 to be more like minecraft survival mechanics but with this games visuals and gameplay. Combat like most of these games are basic, eat food to keep your strength up. Dialogue heavy. After beating the game the freedom starts and there are more unlockables.

This game is awesome. I spent more than 100+ hrs on it. Cute characters and story is not boring. The most enjoy moment on this game for me is after you finish the game and come back to your island to build whatever you want on it. NPC is smart enough to participate and interact with the room that you make. Try it and you will love it.

Wasn’t a fan of Minecraft, but this game went on sale so I had to buy it. I loved this game, and the characters were great (and cute). Had a pretty good story, and building was so much fun. The battles were on the easy side, I rarely got defeated. I did however die a few times, mostly due to my fault. I did finish the game, but I’m still playing it. You’ll put many hours into this one. I also plan on buying the first game, and I hope it’s just as good. Was there anything I didn’t like? I can only think of one, and that was having to eat. A lot of time I barely found enough eat. You can’t really build or fight when your energy is depleted. After awhile though you’ll be farming and have plenty of food. Do yourself a favor and buy this game!

Much like the series that inspired it, DQ Builders 2 is light hearted and whimsical fun. The artwork is gorgeous, the colors pop off of the screen and the animation is well done. The blocky nature of the game fits well with these characters as they navigate foreign lands on a journey to break, craft and build new and exciting items. The music fits the mood perfectly and the sound effects from crating and building are well done. The only issue I had were the sounds the characters make that are comparable to the old LEGO games but a lot less varied. As a result you’ll be hearing the same voices over and over again and it’s a bit disappointing. On the surface, Builders 2 looks like a shameless inspired knock off of Minecraft but with dragon quest characters. I can honestly say that despite the blocky similarities between the games they couldn’t be more different. Beneath the layers of Builders 2 lies a full length JRPG complete with side quests, a pretty decent story and wonderful gameplay. Don’t expect to finish this game inside 30+ hours as there’s a ton of content to explore. There’s also a co op feature that allows you to play with your friends! If you enjoy Dragon Quest or have never heard of it and enjoy building games where you forage materials and then craft them into new items then I’d highly recommend giving this a chance.

    It is Minecraft, but better!

Do you like cute dialog? Do you like cute enemies? Do you like a story with a plot? Do you like Minecraft? How about Dragon Quest? Do you like nostalgic call-backs in the form of music, sound effects and characters? If you said Yes to any of these, you'll love this game! Dragon Quest Builders 2 is the sequel to the beloved Dragon Quest Builders game. It improves on the original in almost every way. Much like Minecraft, you are thrown into a world that can be build and destroyed. Enemies abound as you search for valuable resources needed to build bigger and better things. What makes this game stand above Minecraft is the plot. You have to complete tasks in order to advance in the game, and learn more crafting recipes to overcome the challenges the game throws at you. There is a multiplayer part to the game that allows you to build with a friend online, if they also own the game. Your multiplayer level is a sandbox world that has no bearing on the main game story or plot line, so it is neither cooperative or competitive in the main game.

Basically, it's a better version of minecraft. Combat is simple, but addicting. I wish there was a dodge option, but it works as-is. The story is actually pretty decent. This time around, you don't lose all progress with every new location that you go to, which was a huge gripe for most fans. If you love the Dragon Quest universe and are interested in crafting or building, then you will love this game. It is so charming!

Zelda-like action, adventure, and an RPG storyline that follows an alternate universe of Dragon Quest. Low level learning curve, with a user-friendly building guide. If you enjoy exploration and combat of Zelda or the open world building blocks of Minecraft, but want a more immediate sense of purpose, progression and gratification, then this is an excellent choice.

Who would have thought taking one of the most timeless jrpgs series ans combining it with a simple form of Minecraft building could be so fun and relaxing. The first game was a great start but with the addition of coop this is a perfect game to play with friends and children if your looking to introducing your kids to the world of Dragon Quest this is the game to start with.

The first dragon quest builders was a pleasant surprise. The story and structure really worked well with the building aspects. Builders 2 is better in every way. More building options, better story, better quests and you can swim which was annoying in the first game. If you’re a fan of the first, I highly recommend it. Also any fans of dragon quest should play it.

A fun long rpg in the style of Minecraft but with a deep story and lots of fun ways to decorate your builds! On the surface it looks like minecraft but plays nothing like it, here we have an excellent action rpg that is focused on building certain things in order to further the story.

Minecraft like game with Dragon Quest RPG elements. This was a very fun game to play solo although the dialogue scenes are unbearable long and you can't skip them. The game is very fun to play solo or you can hop in with a friend to play multiplayer and build your dream world.

I am not typically one for these types of "minecraftish" games but I have to admit I had a blast with DQB2. The building is fun, the combat is not great but adds a little extra to the game, and the story is pretty fantastic! Give it a go, i am betting you will not regret it.

I played and enjoyed the first game, but DQB2 improves upon that one in every way. The building is fun and intuitive, and there is just enough story to give it a purpose. I'd highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a game with retro charm, but modern day mechanics.

I haven't stopped playing this game since I bought it. It's fun, charming, and funny. It has a full story like you would see in classic Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy titles. It's like a mix of Zelda, Dragon Quest, Animal Crossing, and Minecraft. It also has full RPG mechanics. Great game!

    A Surprisingly Deep Building Game

At first everyone seems to compare Dragon Quest Builders to Minecraft, and while both involve building a world out of square blocks I feel DQB offers so much more. First and foremost it offers goals and structure, which for me was always a big shortcoming of Minecraft, but I know some players prefer totally open play. DQB also features a *fantastic* and surprisingly deep story, while the character dialog is also hilariously funny and filled with some great puns. If your worried that you haven't played the first game, don't worry, this sequel is completely unrelated to the first, as it is set in an entirely different world with a brand new cast of characters. If your a fan of either the Dragon Quest series or builder style games like Minecraft I would highly recommend Dragon Quest Builders 2.

I liked Minecraft, so naturally I liked DragonQuest Builders 1. DragonQuest Builders 2 took everything I loved about the first game and made it better! The world map exploration adds more depth to the game. Can explore other islands to acquire additional crafting items, animals, and personnel and build your paradise. This time you have a sidekick. Although there's a lot of foreshadowing, you can kind of sense that not everything is black and white. Naturally, a lot of new tools have been added to what is an already amazing game. I only wish that they decide to make DragonQuest Builders 3.

Love this game. It’s so addictive. Help npcs with quest, build things on different islands, collect items from everywhere you go, and build what you want on own personal island. Can’t recommend this game enough.
