Like the title says, this movie is a very good add on to the DragonBall collection. Its not your typical nothing but pure action scenes and monologues. I enjoyed this alot because it had comedy in it. For sure its a must have and at the very Low price bestbuy has it for, you definitely dont want to miss out on this purchase. Trust me its definitely cheaper then shopping direct with Funimation. Every movie i own including the DragonBall series has been purchased at bestbuy.com because of their lower prices.

Dragon Ball Z has been revamped and is bigger and better then ever! With the return of DBZ. This film is the beginning of layout for Dragon Ball Super! You will thoroughly enjoy it if you're already a DBZ fan

As a huge Dragon Ball Z fan, Battle of Gods was everything I could have asked for and more! It was like stepping back into my childhood and reliving all those epic battles. The animation is insane, the fights are intense, and there's humor sprinkled in that will have you cracking up. If you're a DBZ fan, this is a must-watch!

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods marks a triumphant return of the DBZ franchise with not just new characters introduced to the universe, but also the establishment of new power for Son Goku. And it's an absolute pleasure to see all the DB characters back together for this momentous occasion. Now, Dragon Ball Super have done their own arc on this movie spanning across 14 episodes. But this one I find more enjoyable. Unless you wanna see Vegeta shouting, "What did YOU do...TO MY BULMAAAA???!!!", then watch the Super arc. Also I have to admit one of my favorite moments is when Goku first meets Beerus, the God of Destruction. He approaches him like an excited little puppy! I highly recommend picking up a copy!

Having seen Battle of Gods in the theaters (both in Japan and the US), it was a must own for me. To put it simply, the movie is good. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to someone unfamiliar with the property, but if you're a fan of Dragon Ball, you'll enjoy the film. The home video release boasts some extra footage that was cut out of the original US showing (more for time than content.) A must own for your DBZ collection!

This was the movie that basically was a response to show Hollywood how to do a real Dragonball Z movie, and not the terrible excuse that somehow got greenlit and shown in theaters years ago. So, while the animation was good here--it lacked the charm of a traditional Dragonball Z movie/episode, as the main bad guy was just too powerful, and couldn't really be defeated in any form. Goku, as always--has to be THE guy to save the world. Vegeta, as always--has to play second fiddle and becomes the joke. The animation here varies from being top-notch, to being lazy in certain scenes. You'll know too, especially when characters body proportions start looking weird. Was the story great? No. Was it good enough and serviceable for the length of time to watch it? Absolutely. It's not ground-breaking by any means, but as previously stated, way better than the live action movie. If you're a fan of Dragonball Z or the other arcs, pick this up or borrow to see what all the fuss is about.

After seventeen years of waiting the next dragonball movie is here. Packed with plenty of intense action and the most dangerous villain the Z fighters have faced yet Battle of God is a great watch from start to finish.

Firstly, I'd like to address some common questions. 1. Yes, this movie is dubbed in English with the original TV cast of Dragon Ball Z. 2. Yes, if you prefer the original subbed Japanese version it's also included in this release. 3. The extended "uncut" version adds a whole 20 minutes of footage to the film and runs 1 hour and 45 minutes. Now for the actual review; I saw this film twice in theaters during it's theatrical run and bought the Blu-ray day one. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is the first new Dragon Ball Z film in over 17 years. The story and characters within the film were created by the creator of the series, Akira Toriyama. This is by far the best Dragon Ball Z film yet and is honestly a love letter to fans. I won't spoil the story, but I will say this film takes place a few months after the Buu saga of DBZ. The main antagonist of the film is named Lord Beerus and he's the God of Destruction. The film is canon with the series, so you can take everything as a whole when watching the movie. It's obvious that Mr. Toriyama wrote this film, because it surprisingly has a lot of humor in it, which I absolutely loved. While there are subtle nods to the series' history, charming humor, and overall great pacing in the film there are only a few fights, which is a good thing. The fights that are in the film are spectacular, fast paced, accompanied with great music, and last as long as you'd want them to be. Especially the finale confrontation at the end of the film. Funimation did a great job translating the original Japanese script as well as the actual dubbing. Everyone's voice is top notch and represents each character perfectly. I'm glad to see Toriyama adding more to the Dragon Ball mythology with this film and the up in coming new Dragon Ball 2015 movie for next year. If you love Dragon Ball don't hesitate to purchase this movie. It's pure fan service to the highest degree with amazing production value. The animation is amazing, the English dub is the best Funimation has done yet, a good chunk of the soundtrack gets your blood flowing for the action, the fight scenes are some of the most developmental in the series, and it's just an overall great movie for old and new Dragon Ball fans to enjoy.

Spectacular movie to have in your collection. Great story, action, graphics. Awesome to see Vegeta & Kakarot (Goku) back at it again.

This film is the 1st of the new dbz films. It's basically season 1 but in movie form. Puts all the action without the filler episodes. It's great to watch even if you've seen season 1 already.

Definitely worth watching. The story line is really good. It introduces new characters, the battle is very good. If you have followed the series this is a good one to watch.

Have to put this up there with my top 5. Battle scenes are epic, the story is good and seeing all the DBZ characters fight is one for the ages and it's a steal of a deal.

My brother is a huge Dragonball Z fan, and this was the one film he was missing. The picture quality is great, and the box art is fantastic.
