Took this back after my Mirage S8 subwoofer was getting a low humming noise But you get what you pay for... I got something with gold plating contacts and built-in grounding wire No more annoying humming sound

Cheap 'RCA-like' cable, not for woofers

Its recommended to have a single-core, non-stranded cable, to transfer a clear sub signal. This cable is stranded and is very thin. It doesn't have any shielding as I was able to cut it open easily with a dull knife. I got this cable for free when I bought a floor model Denon/Boston Acoustics set up, as the employees were unwilling to give me the ziptied original cable. I was told this Dynex has a 'higher rating', lol, he is wrong...thus to save you all money, I cut it open to check its quality. As others state, there is a hum from the sub with this cable connected, at low volume never the less. Don't use normal RCA-like cables, or this cheap Dynex garbarge for a good set up. Maybe for a simple, low-end, under 100w subwoofer. I went back and grabbed the Rocketfish subwoofer cable just to see if Best Buy's brands are all garbage, but sure enough, the Rocketfish is thick, sturdy, and eliminates the humming 100%. If you need a quality cable, spend a tad bit more and get yourself a good, single-core, thick shielded cable! :)

Kept getting an annoying hum from my new sub woofer when the receiver was off and the sub would not go into stand by. Unplug the cable and humming would stop. The cable was getting interference from other wiring due to its lack of shielding. Changed to a better cable and the hum stopped and the sub goes into stand by as it should. Buy a different cable.

I have this cord hooked up to my Klipsch Sub which is connected to my Harman Kardon Receiver and I have ZERO issues. I am not experiencing the Humming noise like other posts have stated. I am not saying this wasn't the case for them, but for me everything sounds perfect.

Don't waste your money! Constant "buzz" in sub

I set up a cheap surround system for my family room recently and needed a subwoofer cable, which is basically just a single RCA cable. This was the only one they had at my local Best Buy that wasn't a ridiculously priced Monster cable, so I bought it. After getting everything set up, there was a constant buzz in the sub. I tried different settings on the sub and receiver but the buzz wouldn't go away. I then remembered I had an extra cable I bought last year when I was pre-wiring my basement. It was a much higher quality, heavier cable, very similar to a Monster cable in quality. I bought it along with a lot of other cables, plates, plugs, etc. from an online retailer. I paid less than two bucks for a 12 ft cable! I hooked up the new cable and no more buzz! Although you certainly don't need to go to the extreme of expensive Monster cable, quality cables do matter. And this unfortunately, is NOT a quality cable.
