I don't think it has been Beta tested

I got it for my son in January (2017) and had to return it next day. It was previously used and was sold as new. It was locked on someone else's account and was already password locked. After returned it got a new one and had to return it in a month. Locked on the PBS KIDS! opening screen (annoying for sure) going in a loop. Resetting button did not do anything to solve the problem (which is almost impossible to find anything thin, but strong enough to use on it). Can not connect to your PC and even tho PC recognize it, you can not put your data on it even if it has a SD card. You have to take SD card out and connect it to your PC. If you add your own videos and put the SD card back, you have to restart several times for it to recognize the SD card. They claim 6 hours of use time, but lucky if you get 3, even with max battery saver settings. Takes long time to charge also. The kids play mode wont allow me to run 3rd party app. Only positive thing is the screen not being glass, thus a bit more durable. The blue cover should be permanent, my kid keeps taking it off and have to remind him to put it back on. Many of the pre installed PBS apps are demos. Make sure you buy warranty if you buy it.

    Great idea, terrible execution

We were vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC and I wanted to get something to keep my 7-year old twin boys busy during the long drive home. These tablets seemed to fit the bill as I appreciated the educational aspect AND the parental controls. Unfortunately, the first tablet would randomly display error messages and freeze up regularly. The second was not even properly configured out of the box and it took some know how to get the PBS Android skin working properly. Then unfortunately it displayed the same symptoms as the first tablet. Back to the store with both. I think the idea of the PBS tablets is great, especially the parental controls. Too bad they were so cheaply made (software), lacking any quality control.

The tablet was extremely buggy--often stating that apps that I'd already approved had to be approved in Playtime Safe Mode, but not indicating how in any documentation. Called tech support and they wanted to reset tablet but couldn't say that would fix it. As a workaround, I found you could just use the tablet outside of kid mode and everything worked fine. When the battery died, the tablet wouldn't charge at all. Also, the parental controls don't work if Internet is not available. I returned it and bought something else.

The overall construction of the tablet is good. I like the removable grip. The preloaded apps were good. That ends the good. For the bad. The tablet is slow. It barely runs some of the apps. It takes forever to load. The jobs app randomly closes and my child can purchase thing without my consent. It is supposed to be password protected to get away from the children's section but it randomly takes you back anyway no password needed. Some of the apps you download disappear randomly from the approved kids apps that the parent approves.

I have a son with Aspburgers. I bought this tablet without review because I trusted the PBS name. I'm so disappointed in the battery life of this tablet. Because of my sons learning disabilities it takes him alot longer to get through a educational game. I've even exchanged it, and the battery life is the same. The PBS games are great, but it so frustrating to get a game accomplished when it shuts down. PBS should definitely take their name off this tablet.

My 2 year old thinks this is the greatest thing ever! But, I think it has a lot of issues that need to be addressed. I constantly get errors on it from the first time I started it up. It tells me it needs to be validated but I have done this multiple times and still get the message. The screen is very poor but I figured that it would be considering the price. It does offer some decent preloaded activities for my 2 year old but I have to work through the bugs to get to it.

The physical design is good. The programs are hard to navigate and very buggy. It keeps telling me I need to validate, which I've done multiple times. It's hard to get from one screen to another and it goes back and forth out of playtime mode. I have kids age 1, 3, 5 and 6 and it's frustrating for all of them to try to use. Also, when charging it makes a loud buzzing noise. Wish I hadn't wasted the money.

In less than a year it wont stay on. Comes up so far and then shuts off. I read about other similar products (kids tablets) and all the negative reviews say the samething - that it just stops working or shuts off. I am leary about replacing - its for a 3 year old so I certainly am not going to get them a kindle or ipad. Wish it worked better because she really liked it.

The tablet was ok, but not as good quality as I expected. It is a cheaper made tablet. The screen is a cheaper plastic kind that has a very grainy and difficult to look at resolution. The apps were nice, but they are available on the Play Store for free through the PBS kids Game app, as well as the videos are available through the video app. Returned for a Nabi and much happier.

This tablet is not that easy for young Children. Going back to home screen should have a Manuel button. Instead it has to be swiped in a small area to bring up options to home, back step or all previous open screens. Not well designed for young children. Spend the extra $20 and get samsung kids tablet or buy the cheapest tablet and let them learn how to use a tablet

The screen of this tablet has plastic on the outside and scratches easily. On top of the there is glass under the plastic and that can break. So you get the worst of both worlds. I would recommend a screen protector if you can find on. The tablet itself is pretty sluggish as well.

I purchased this tablet 11 months ago for my 3 year old grandson. Battery life is terrible, display isn't bad, user interface is a bit confusing and the tablet stopped charging after 10 months of use. I would not recommend this tablet. Waste of money. Spend the xtra $20 and get a Kindle Fire for Kids.

Had to replace 3 times due to malfunctions. The first due to stop working. The second due to not charging. Did not even get the third one. They didn’t fix it had to keep getting a new one and still had problems all within a few months of having.

I bought this tablet for my 4 years old daughter. The battery doesn't last, we have to charge it multiple times during the day. The play time mode was is a mess, I have reset my password multiple time, but I couldn't get it to work. Some of the apps do not open.

It's a good idea. But the tablet just runs to slow for my children. They would get frustrated and ask for our cheap Amazon tablet. Ended up returning it. You can get all the apps on a regular tablet and they run better.

You get what you pay for. This tablet is very fragile (without the bumper on it). It feels really cheap, and the hardware is very slow. Kids get frustrated when the apps crash (which happens fairly regularly).

My child loves it when i can get it to work. 85% of the time it gets stuck on loading screens or just freezes completely. Bad thing is that it is only a couple of months old and has never been online or downloaded anything.

I had to return the first one I bought. It kept crashing and was very frustrating to my little grandson and to me. I am not certain about the longevity of this product. Perhaps I should have bought another product!
