I've tried two of these ultra-short throw projectors. The first was this Epson LS800B.
That one was significantly brighter than this LG HU915QB; 20-25% subjectively. Viewing the Epson in a day-lit room was great. However it would not focus on the top third of the projection screen. Also the UI, remote and app performance (non-loading, crashes, etc.) were all return worthy. Just a miserable experience. For either set of issues, it's return worthy. Both ... I couldn't return it fast enough.
Then enter the LG. The remote is 100 times better with backlighting and a host more quick access functions the Google/Epson UST failed to provide. The LG UST projector apps worked and came pre-installed. All were working on the first launch and did not require hours of setting up. The 3700 ANSI lumens is noticeably dimmer than the Epson/Google, but it is still viewable and enjoyable in a well-lit room with a light-rejecting screen. The focus need some fine tuning - easy to do on the LG model. Also, the keystone correction is 10 times more flexible than the other model and very intuitive. Perhaps too flexible? If so, you have the option to simplify how you adjust corners. and edges.
Then finally, the picture quality is great, but I would give the Epson/Google model a slight edge in its 4K upscaling, projection .... whatever it does. Watching HD TV (HDMI input) on the LG lacks some sharpness that the Epson demonstrated. Streaming UHD content is great to view on either, with a specialized UST screen.

This product was amazing and easy to hook up to a computer! It did exactly what I needed. It doesn't work the best outside in direct sunlight though. But does a fantastic job inside.

I have been using this product for 1 week now, I am just projecting on the wall, without any screens, and the wall is painted gray. However, the picture is still pretty bright and colorful!

Great quality for a projector! Slight blurry area around the top corners of the screen that dont seem to go away no matter how much i mess with the settings, but overall a great purchase!

The Epson LS 800 is an awesome UST projector! I was skeptical about Epson UST projectors in general but I was pleasantly surprised by the features this one has. The picture quality is awesome. I have a 120" screen and it feels like I'm watching a big TV. I don't use the Android TV that it comes with however, I like the Fire TV stick. I would suggest not going with the LS 500, that hood that sticks up on top of it is horrible. The app that helps with aligning the projector on the screen is top notch and easy to use. Over all this was an excellent investment.

I got this along with the 120” screen that is designed for it and it has been great. Very bright - good detail - nice motion. If you aee in the market for a UST projector - consider thia one.

I purchased this and the Epson 100 inch Silverflex ALR screen as a package. Great deal. I have this set up in the worst possible environment. Light from all angles, windows everywhere. Direct sunlight on the screen. It looks great. Sound is amazing too. My last UST projector was good but I cheaped out on the ALR screen and it only looked great in light controlled environments. The screen is important on these folks. Check reviews and get a good screen.

Best decision we made is to purchase this projector over all others. Family movie nights by the pool has been so special. Easy setup, even connected to my Sonos speakers which gives us complete surround sound.

Amazing projector. One of the best addition to the house and it works cool with EPSON screens and SONOS sound system . Kind of a theatrical feeling. I recommend this projector to anyone who is looking for a great deal at reasonable price.

The best laser short throw projector on the market, I have installed it about 10 feet away from my 150 inch projector screen and still it gives the best resolution and sharp crisp picture
Connected with HDMI the boss surround sound system and you have a wonderful sound with the best picture quality you can imagine getting it in the comfort of your own house , our home theatre is complete with this projector

Love the Epson LS800. Is very sharp even without the ALR screen. ALR screen makes it even better. Sounds is decent. Highly recommend a sound system or sound bar. I wished it had 3D, Atmos and eARC. I hooked my up to Apple TV 4k. Android TV is a little lacking (not as user friendly).
