Lumens aren't quite enough for daytime use outdoors. Amazing quality though! Best bang for buck on the high lumens (if that's your biggest must-have).

This projector is similar to most other projectors. Being a previous owner of a projector for my home garage and setting one up for my company, I have some experience with them. To be honest, this one doesn’t have any fancy bells or whistles that really make it stick out, but its an Epson and I have yet to be disappointed in any Epson I’ve owned or used before. The first thing I noticed about unpacking this was it came with a carrying case, very convenient. The projector is a medium size compared to other projectors, but the case makes it much more portable especially since I’d like to have this on-hand when going out to clients places, doing sales presentations and videos, something I wish I had at my last job where we show-cased our company and product line on a very regular basis. Its quick setup and fires my laptop screen anywhere easily, even on a blank wall. It is exceptionally bright at 4000 lumens with a clear picture. I’ve tested out different scenarios and backdrops around my house so that I can get comfortable with it before taking it out. I’ve attached a picture of me testing it out at 140” in my living room. Also impressive, is its capability of reaching 320” maximum screen size, even though I don’t really have anywhere ideal to test this out yet, I plan on doing so the first chance I get. I’ve played videos, Powerpoints, AutoCAD demo’s, different types of office documents on it with everything looking great on it. Some things look a little blurry at first depending on how its setup, but the quick access to the manual zoom and focus make it easy to tune keeping it crystal clear, even without a white backdrop that’s made for projectors and using a plain wall (see my pic). Colors are good too, even at 140”. Again, this projector seems to have all the basic features and functionality you find in most projectors. This does have the appearance of a more professional projector than one the smaller home-designed ones. In that regard, some parts of it including the remote and menu seem pretty outdated. Feels like something from early 90s. Power cord is on the shorter side for portable device, its about 5-6ft which limits your positioning unless you carry an extension with you. The built-in speakers are pretty good considering what they are, it was plenty loud listening to my videos in my living room. Depending the size of the room and crowd you are using for your audience, you may want to plan on having an additional source for audio. Overall, it’s a pretty good projector, versatile for both home and the office, but a bit pricey for what it offers. Again, its an Epson which I’m a big fan of when it comes to projectors. The bulb has a rating of 6000-12000 hours depending if you’re in ECO mode or not, so unless you’re using all day every day, you won’t have to worry about changing it out anytime soon.

Whether for the boardroom, meeting room or home office, the Epson Pro EX7280 WXGA Business Projector is a versatile performer, on sale today at Best Buy for $650. Though NOT designed for movie watching at home, it does this well, too, though not in HD. Features 3-chip, 3LCD technology, it may be used for Zoom video conferencing and can accept 4K content from streaming devices from the likes of Apple TV, Roku and Chromecast through the HDMI port for sharing a wide range of content. Again, the projector is NOT 4K or even High Def, though the image looks great! **WHAT’S IN THE BOX** • EX7280 • Power cord • Wireless remote control with batteries (2AA) • Soft carrying case with outside pocket and shoulder strap • Documentation, including quick setup guide and warranty **THE SETUP** Following the Quick Setup guide, it was up and running in almost no time. Ports on the back of the unit assure virtually universal connectivity. USB (the square end of typical printer cable in, the other end, USB-A, to a computer), HDMI, VGA, composite audio and video. Ceiling mount holes are on the bottom. Send images from connected devices to the projector. These can include slide shows, videos, spreadsheets and other documents, and much more. Using the smartphone app and the settings in the built-in manual, find and control content on a smartphone sent to the projector. Projecting up to a 320-inch diagonal image, users can control the content source from the smartphone app and from the wireless remote control. With brightness pegged at 4,000 lumens and native resolution of 1280×800pixels (WXGA), the projected content promises to be a good fit for business meeting environments. A height-adjustable front foot tips the image to the desired place on the wall or screen ahead while keystone adjustment buttons help square off the image from what would otherwise be a trapezoid when the projector is aimed up at an angle or off to one side. The rear feet may be adjusted to compensate for a slightly tilted image. Atop the unit is a control panel with a series of buttons for manual access and navigation through settings and menus. The downloadable manual specifies ideal distance and height settings. **PUT TO THE TEST** Aimed at a large, blank space high on a living room wall, the image loomed with surprising brightness in daylight. Later, when darkness had set in, the brightness was even more pleasing. Tested with a variety of content in the HDMI port sent by a connected Mac with screen mirroring enabled, we were wowed by the clarity and sharpness of photos, PowerPoint files and videos from online streaming services. Sound sent through the single onboard speaker was loud and clear. I tried the E-Zoom buttons to resize the image as well as the Freeze button. A second press unfreezes the image. An option through the smartphone app may come in handy. It is possible to send the camera’s live image to the projector. What could you do with this? All who watched the demo were pleased, and with the image size of which this projector is capable, we agreed that the results were surprisingly satisfying. Users may experience better audio, stereo or surround sound, by sending the audio from the source through better speakers instead of to the projector’s single speaker. The VGA port was not tested nor was connectivity through composite A/V ports. Put through its paces, I was pleased with the ease of use and the versatility offered in projecting images and in the many options through the menus. Wi-Fi connectivity using the app was a plus, adding value. If you are still not convinced, search online for “Epson Pro EX7280 manual” that is on the Epson Website to see all the settings and specifications. I’m pretty sure you, too, will like what you read and what you see. **CONCLUSION** Well done, Epson! Bright, sharp, 3-LCD technology is a good value. **WARRANTY** Epson provides a standard 1-year limited warranty, full-unit replacement, along with free technical phone support for the life of the product.

Bright My first impression upon powering up this projector was bright. No need to turn off the lights. It throws an image with exceptional clarity in broad daylight. Versatile Professional enough for presentations in the office. Solid enough for the family at home. Connectivity This thing will connect to just about anything. HDMI, USB, VGA, Composite, RCA, and Wireless. Quick and Easy It does most of the work for you. Plug in your source and the projector will find it. Intuitive Menu options are intuitive and simple to follow. Small Footprint and Light It requires minimal space and lightweight. No more than a typical laptop. Sturdy Solid and well built. Functional Comes with a remote control that is responsive and easy to use. Compatibility Laptops, Desktops, Windows, Mac, Flash Drives, iPhones, and Androids (I even connected a Linux machine without issues). More Compatibility I have connected Roku, FireTV, and Dish Network with absolutely no problems. Audio Has a built in speaker. It is audible but not this products strongest feature and is its most disappointing feature. Overall this is a fine piece of equipment. I would recommend it to my family and friends. You can get a lot of use in many ways from this projector. This is a review for the Epson Pro EX-7280 Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I purchased the Epson Pro EX7280 3LCD WXGA Projector with Built-in Speaker, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. As someone who uses projectors frequently for both professional presentations and home entertainment, this model stands out for its outstanding performance and versatility. Picture Quality: The picture quality is excellent, with vibrant colors and sharp details. The 3LCD technology ensures that the colors are true to life, and the WXGA resolution provides a clear and crisp image even in larger rooms. Brightness: One of the most impressive features is the brightness. With 4,000 lumens, this projector performs exceptionally well even in well-lit environments. Whether it's a sunny day or a dimly lit room, the image remains bright and vivid. Built-in Speaker: The built-in speaker is surprisingly good. While it may not replace a dedicated sound system for a home theater, it's more than adequate for presentations and casual movie nights. The audio is clear and can fill a medium-sized room without issue. Ease of Use: Setting up the projector is a breeze. The intuitive menu and remote control make it easy to navigate through settings and adjustments. The multiple connectivity options, including HDMI and USB, allow for seamless integration with various devices. Portability: The projector is lightweight and portable, making it easy to transport between different locations. This is a great feature for those who need to use it in multiple settings, such as different conference rooms or at home and the office. Value: Considering the quality and features, the Epson Pro EX7280 offers excellent value for money. It's a reliable and high-performing projector that caters to a wide range of needs. Overall: I highly recommend the Epson Pro EX7280 3LCD WXGA Projector to anyone in need of a high-quality, versatile projector. Its exceptional picture quality, brightness, ease of use, and portability make it a fantastic choice for both professional and personal use.

As with every Epson projector I have had, they just keep getting better. This EX7280 is ready to go wherever you need a presentation, especially with its own included carrying bag. At 4000 lumens, it is super bright, enough to see in a space that still has ambient lighting. You’re not going to overpower direct overhead lighting or direct sunlight, but you don’t need to have a blacked out room to see a clear picture. The WXGA resolution is plenty detailed for typical presentations and video. Depending on the size you stretch the screen, from 33” to 320”, will depend on the fine details you may notice, but only small fonts are really noticeable. For connections you have VGA, HDMI, RCA and USB Type A and B. You can connect just about anything, to include something like an HDMI streaming device. There is automatic vertical skewing depending on the tilt of the projector, but can still be manually corrected in the menu. While there is physical adjustment for horizontal skew, zoom and focus. The zoom makes it easy to fill a screen without having to relocate the projector, should space be limited. With the built in speaker, it is enough to hear a presentation without external equipment, but not the best quality sound. Overall this is a really bright and capable projector for presentations or video. It’s not a cinema resolution projector, but very capable for watching movies or playing games just about anywhere, to include the side of the house at about 300” at night.

This is a review for the Epson Pro EX-7280 Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. It is a great projector. The best things about this projector is it's combination of performance and portability. Picture quality is excellent and it has built in speakers so that you do not need to tote around a pair of speakers for presentations on the go. There are various ways to connect, whether you use the wireless feature, USB, HDMI, this projector gives you plenty of options. A couple of days ago I used it to watch a movie in our friends backyard. It worked great. I just hooked it up to a DVD player with an HDMI cable and everything went smoothly. There were no issues of any kind. And, most importantly, the picture was very bright and crisp. Of course, with that said, please don’t expect the picture to look as good as your 4K TV. It is compact and lightweight, and includes a nifty little carry bag too, so it is utterly and completely portable. This will be great for outdoor movies. It works beautifully with my laptops too - I have an new model MacBook and a more recent Dell computer and both work well. Presentations and slide shows look great. This will work well for lectures or concert settings. Especially for business purposes. Which, of course, is what it is designed for. But, I do think it does a really good job when you want to use it at home too. Overall really quality projector and the price makes sense to me. BRIGHT – LIGHT – 1280x800 RESOLUTION

REVIEW: EPSON PRO EX7280 3LCD WXGA PROJECTOR WITH BUILT-IN SPEAKER - WHITE BRIGHT – LIGHT – 1280x800 RESOLUTION The EX7280 is very bright (4000 lumens) and relatively small, with a good variety of inputs (this thing even has analog COMPOSIT INPUTS). It has a zoom lens, and nice short throw which means you don’t have to mount it 30 feet away from the wall. It will work perfectly fine in the middle of a conference room table. It is important to note that although it will downscale 4K or HD images, the native resolution is only WXGA, which in projector speak is 1280x800. While it does connect to your network over WIFI it has too much lag to be of any practical use for wireless presenting, so you will want to have a physical cable like HDMI or VGA. If you need something bright, more than you need super high resolution, then the EX7280 is worth a look. It is well built, high quality, small, bright, powerful. SETUP and UNBOXING As you would expect from EPSON, they make great stuff, it was well packaged, and well protected, and everything is clearly labeled and easy to understand / use. The user interface (from the remote) is a little dated feeling, but easy enough to use right away. One nice feature they do have is that once you connect it to your network you can control all of the settings from your PC or phone. Just type in the IP address on your web browser of the projector. The sound is perfectly fine for a business projector. NOTE: It does not support windows (wireless remote) screen mirroring built into Windows 10 or Chromecast on Windows. You have to download and install I-PROJECT for windows, from EPSON which would have to be loaded on all your PC’s that you want to present. Though I don’t recommend using this for remote mirroring, just use a cable. TIP: You will get the best picture by changing your PC resolution to 1280x800, otherwise, the downscaling (especially from 4K) is not very smooth and makes any text hard to read. SUMMARY / CONCLUSION / RECOMMENDATION Figure out what you really need for both brightness, portability and resolution. You can get a pocket HD projector, with only 200 lumens. Or, you can get a GIANT 4K Projector that you can’t easily move around. At 4000 lumens you won’t have to dim the lights or close the blinds in your conference room. I have one conference room with windows on 3 sides and the light washes out all our projectors and TV’s we have tried. We are not allowed back in the office yet due to COVID restrictions, but I am confident this projector will work just fine there. It is a fine projector of high quality and if brightness and affordability are your 2 biggest drivers, then take a close look at the EX7280.

    Exceeds My Expectation and Vision

From the company who has perfected precision of color or hues in printed material comes a new business projector with color so bright and accurate in visual acuity that it totally exceeds the performance of any other projector that I have used in the past. Built on 3LCD 3-Chip technology, 100 percent of the RGB color signal comes through clear and precise on every frame throughout the presentation; and the XGA resolution combined with the 4,000 lumens of white and color brightness makes this a perfect projector for group presentations in either a well-lite or dark room. My first impression of the Epson Pro EX7280 3LCD WXGA Projector was a pleasant surprise in how light the unit is. As I reached in the box to unpack the projector, I was expecting something that weighed much more than 5.7 lbs. At 11-9” x 9.3” x 3.6, this projector offers (1280 x 800) x 3 or 1,024,000 dpi and can project an image in size from 33” to almost 27 feet with a contrast ratio of up to 16,000:1 and an aspect ratio of 16:10. The Epson Pro EX7280 has a considerable amount of built-in technology which allows its presentation use to only be limited by one’s lack of creativity. It has several interface options that make it very versatile. They include an HDMI, a USB for Plug and Play and another for PC related functions, e.g., flash drive, digital camera, etc., one Computer/Component video, one Composite Video (RCA) and one Audio In (RCA) connections. It has a built-in speaker and can be controlled with a handheld remote or a remote through the Epson iProjection mobile app. Streaming devices can easily be connected through the HDMI port and the projector is compatible with both Macs and PCs which makes it perfect for presentations through Zoom. One of its very best features is that it can connect up to four (4) images in separate projected panels when using the Epson iProjection software. This can be controlled by use of a computer or by downloading the mobile app to either android or iOS devices. The app allows for projection from multiple devices as long as each mobile device has downloaded the Epson iProjection app and all are connected through the network. From a split screen to quadrants, various images can be shown for comparison and discussion. The projector projects its images either front, or rear and upside down when mounted on the ceiling. It allows zooming in on various frames, has a manual focus, a built-in picture skew sensor, and a throw ratio range of 1.30 – 1.56. The Epson Pro EX7280 model has built-in Wi-Fi capabilities that allows for a very quick setup. Its fan is even fairly quite when operating in normal mode and only measures at 37 decibels. Epson stands behind all of their products and with this projector there is a full 12-month limited warranty on all parts and labor. There are throw distant calculators on the website as well as driver downloads, firmware updates, etc. I did have a little trouble updating the firmware on this projector. Epson has software that you can download and use to update the firmware, but for whatever reason, this did not work well for me like it does with Epson’s similar software for printers. Fortunately, there are two ways to update the firmware and one is a direct contact with the computer and use of this software. The other is downloading to a USB drive and installing the firmware with the USB flash drive. This method worked best for me, but it is important to read all of the directions before attempting this and follow them exactly as written. Epson does have a support service and 800 number that can be reached Monday through Saturday if you feel more comfortable discussing the firmware update methods before you give either a try, or if you encounter any other problems in setup or use. Like none other than I have ever used, the Epson Pro EX7280 is a very interactive projector. During our meeting we were able to project from multiple devices in the room, four at a time and discuss the contents of each. This allowed us to be much more productive than if we had not been able to have had this interaction and discussion during the length of the whole presentation. Being lightweight and under 6 lbs. makes this a perfect travel projector. It comes with the remote (batteries included), power cord, and soft case. So far, I cannot find a flaw or shortcoming in either the design or function of the product. If you need a new business projector, you should take a look at this one. I think you will be very surprised at all the options the EX7280 presents, and I highly recommend its purchase.

Don't fall for PICO--go BIGGER w/stellar Epson PQ!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

As an adjunct member of faculty for more than one undergraduate institution, I have often had to teach my classes in conditions that were...less than ideal. After one painfully awkward weekend when I had to teach a course in a defunct "education center" where none of the on-hand AV support was actually functional, I took matters into my own hands with the purchase of a fairly popular and very well-reviewed pico protector. The convenience was undeniable--a little square box that fit in my palm simply hooked into my laptop and I was back in business--no matter where the job would take me. The problem was that I was sacrificing picture quality and projection performance for portability and convenience, something that the Epson Pro EX7280 would throw into sharp relief this past weekend when I prepared for an upcoming class in one of my institution's multi-purpose rooms. These side-by-side images of one of my old PowerPoint decks were captured at a throw distance of approximately 9 feet onto identical white boards after 15 minutes of lamp warm-up in full ambient room lighting. The results speak for themselves...compared to my pico projector, the Epson is able to render a much larger, well-focused image at the same distance with greater pop, color accuracy, and brightness--PERIOD. In fact, the Epson's color reproduction, brightness, and high-contrast capabilities made the projected image look identical to the slide deck I was editing on my laptop, which helped take the guesswork out of any image rendering or visibility concerns I might have to factor into my presentation before actually throwing it up on the screen. For grins, I also ran a high definition movie stream from my laptop; again, the image quality was exceptional, even with the reduced WXGA resolution hiding a bit of detail on screen. Usability was also excellent, especially if you're purchasing this projector to use for travel rather than in stationary, board/meeting room-style or permanent ceiling-mount scenarios. A full-featured remote control is provided, but all controls are also accessible from the unit itself (especially useful in case the projector is hanging upside-down from the ceiling). Handily, there is a horizontal keystone correction slider that is just as intuitive as the nearby zoom and focus adjustment rings for those times when your screen isn't precisely centered in front of the projector bulb; horizontal and vertical keystone correction is also available through the projector's menus and can be customized based on any combination of elevation and tilt I could manage. Along with the effortless, push-button release of the front elevation support rod, I particularly appreciated the 'A/V Mute' slider at the front of the projector housing--this physical slider cuts and covers the projector bulb and mutes any running audio without having to fully turn off the projector so it will still be ready to project an image on a moment's notice. Additional discrete controls on the remote thoughtfully cover the gamut of quick-change settings like volume (as well as AV Mute) and zoom, source selection, aspect ratio, color mode, split screen and screen freeze. With so much going for it, what's not to like? For starters, the Epson Pro EX7280 is billed as a "compact" projector, which is maybe being a bit generous. It's not overly bulky or heavy, and it *is* easily transportable in the provided carrying case, but there's no getting around the fact that this projector is simply not going to stow in your backpack or overnight bag the way a sexy little pico projector might. But again, the tradeoff is that you're actually getting far more usable and useful projection performance for your audience. The included speaker is serviceable, but only just--anything more than a few tables away and your listeners will probably still be struggling to hear anything save for non-complex soundtracks (think: spoken word) in a perfectly silent room. Like any high-power projector, fan noise is audible though not unreasonable for a projector of this size. Finally, even though input resolution can run all the way up to 4K, the biggest Achilles heel of the EX7280 is the native WXGA resolution of the LCD displays...the Epson simply cannot render anything at greater than 1280x800. This 16:10 aspect ratio is actually well-suited to many modern business/professional environments as it's far more friendly to navigating taller webpages and office documents than a 16:9 display. Furthermore, complex images and videos will actually look wonderful because the sources are being down-rezed to a lower resolution where scaling errors, ringing, and other types of image enhancement/video processing are more difficult to spot. However, a quick comparison between even the 1080p screen on my laptop and the image projected on the screen in my classroom revealed a loss of detail in multimedia streams that may be a factor for you if this projector is to serve double duty for both productivity and leisure (i.e. home) projection needs. Very dense areas of text can also look noticeably jaggy simply because the projector has reached the limit of its resolution and has no more pixels left to render the crisp/sharp edges of onscreen text. Again, however, this issue was really only a concern for dense areas of very text-heavy content; a typical PowerPoint or other mixed-media presentation would likely not reveal this shortcoming so readily. Overall, the EX7280 is a very capable, professional-caliber multimedia projector with outstanding color, contrast, and imaging performance even in very well-lit rooms. The fact that you COULD also add a Roku or Chromecast device to the back end and run a movie or two from the projector is a bonus; but the real draw here is the premier image quality that is every bit as engaging and effective on the road as it would be suspended from the ceiling in a professional conference room-style installation. Definitely recommended!

This is a great choice if you need a professional, portable (or permanent) presentation projector. Inside the box you will find: *Projector *Soft-side carry case *Power chord *Remote control *Battery Once unboxed, set up was a breeze. I don't have any pictures of the machine in use since we are have to check our phones at security. But suffice it to say, the picture is crisp, clean and handles very well in daylight even with lights on. Certainly bright enough for most environments. On the back you have the usual suspects: *Power *USB A *USB B *Audio *Video *Computer *HDMI The audio was adequate. Not outstanding, but certainly functional. The remote offers easy operation from your hand so most adjustments can be made from anywhere in the room. I really like the portability as I often need to present across campus and it's just easier to carry this than to rely on in-house. This is an excellent choice. End of the day I would wholeheartedly recommend it to a friend.

I got this projector for my wife to use in her classroom and she loves it. It is much sharper and easier to use than her smart board. She has received lots of comments from her students on how clear her lessons look. She was also able to use it to play video examples of problems from YouTube, which also look great. Pros - Great picture quality. Images are sharp and bright. - Easy to setup (MacBook Pro recognized it immediately) - Image needs minimal adjustment and controls are straight forward. - Included remote and built-in speaker are convenient - Very quiet and no temperature issues running all day - Includes a carrying case with a shoulder strap and a side pocket (with enough room for cables, the instruction manual, and the remote). - Built in lens cover Things to Consider - Speaker is convenient for a quick video as part of a presentation, but depending on the size of the room/noise level you may need a more powerful sound system. - No audio/video cables are included. - The carrying case is padded, but it appears to be for lite use. You should be careful when transporting it and you may want a hard case or one with thicker padding to protect the projector if you are taking it on a plane trip or the like. I would recommend. This projector is easy to transport and set up with great results. It is holding up great so far under moderate daily use and frequent trips between home and school.

After our trusty projector started nearing the end of its usefulness at work, I started to look for a replacement. I use this in a classroom setting for both my students, and for when I need to hold trainings for other teachers. We needed something that would be clear, even with all of the lights on in the room. Build quality is what you would expect from your typical Epson projector. Sturdy and easy to use with the included remote or buttons on the unit. It has all of your common adjustments, including the little leg at the front of the unit to tilt it up, zoom image, and focus dials. As a bonus, it also comes with a handy, padded carrying case which is very convenient for my use case. My last projector did not have this case, and I was left to carry it in a backpack. Image quality is great for trainings / lessons. Text and images are very easy to read, and it is plenty bright to be easily seen in a well lit class, conference room, or library. Our last projector would require that we lowered the lights to be seen clearly, that is not the case with this one. You have your typical connections to project images; HDMI, VGA, etc. I had no problem connecting this to my windows desktop, MacBook, and iPad. I can easily recommend this to anyone looking for a bright, clear projector to use for meetings.

I’ve got two roles one is my day job leading a large team and the other is supporting a small family business! This projector has come in handy for both! You’ll notice from the pictures that there are insects (day care lesson planning). The colors are so vibrant and the picture quality is supremely crisp! Having had Epson products I expected something great and they delivered. I love that this new projector has built-in wifi! I had a previous model with the USB adapter and I was always afraid I’d lose it. The wow-factor for me was how true the blacks came out on the screen! While reviewing a Ted Talk video I sat and was astonished how great the colors splashed on my wall (work from home currently). Then I noticed I hadn’t even closed the blinds in the area room. So if you’re looking to display your work and run meetings while letting some sun in you’ll be pleased to know this projector will display the colors you want. Others have failed at doing this well. The remote wasn’t upgraded but it suffices and you only need an HDMI cable to jump start your next project!

I bought it for the superbowl. We were able to watch it in a shop garage with the lights on and still see the picture. We connected the sound to 2 large speakers and it was amazing!! I'm so glad I bought this
