The artbook honestly wasn't great, but the soundtrack CD was nice and the game is superb with a lot of improvements from the Millennium girl. However, I don't think you should spend $50 on it.

This is a remake of Etrian Odyssey II. With a plot. And characters. Chances are if you're looking at this then you probably played IV or Millennium Girl. Same stuff.
There are a few enhancements over the previous Untold, the story is a little stronger, the characters are a little better. At the core there's a First Person RPG world that is fun to explore; and a Map making component that is a treat (however you can automap if that's not your thing).
The music is fantastic.

This game is more of what makes the Etrian series great (exploration, map making, and challenging enemies). The grimoire system has been reworked to make it less annoying than in the first Untold game, and the characters in the story mode are more likeable. This game is an overall improvement over Untold and still a challenging game.

There is a decent amount of character customization in this game, allowing for the creation of numerous different party builds and multple strategies for any given challenge. The story is fairly straightforward and easy to follow, and as with all etiran games, gameply is superb. The learning curve is pretty small, so newcomers to the series won't feel overwhelmed.

Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold is another excellent dungeon crawler and it continues what was re-started in Untold 1. Having a story mode with a preset party is a nice option for beginners and having the traditional pick your own classes is great for vets.

If you love RPGs that are challenging and have a lot of content, then this is for you. Just don't expect to be blown away by some incredible battle system. It's pretty standard fare, and it offers strategic elements, but make sure you are into this kind of style RPG and you will love it. Great characters, great story.

If you have played Etrian Odyssey Untold 1, this game will be no surprise for you. If you haven't, this is a big game that will make you feel that you spent well. This is a well made strategy dungeon crawler rpg with great music.

This title is a remake of the DS title, Etrian Odyssey 2, with improved graphics, interface, and an all-new story mode. If you have never played the original, it's a fantastic entry; if you have played the original, it's worth a look for the new content.

Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold is a remake of the original EO2 with some interesting additions. It contains the original Classic Mode with updated map-making mechanics and graphics, as well as a Story Mode with new and fun set characters and an intriguing plot. set out with a band of adventurers of your own making and carve out your own story, or follow the Fafnir Knight and Princess Arianna through the labyrinth and the trials of Ginnungagap. Whichever you choose, or if you decide to give both a shot, you'll enjoy yourself. Either route can be a lengthy endeavor on their own. I'm playing both and loving every minute. :)

Atlus is doing a great job bringing these niche games to NA. If you've never played an EO games before, they're what is called a DRPG (dungeon role playing game), and the bulk of the game consists of exploring first person dungeons while building your characters and advancing the story. Graphics and sound/music are fantastic, but don't expect it to look like Skyrim or anything. It's not that type of game, but it's superb in its own right.

If you like EO games then you will like EO2, with the caveat that there are difficulty settings and it's a much more playable game now.

This is a fun RPG with a great story and lots of interesting characters, but you'll either going to love or hate the mapping part of the game. It's an interesting mechanic, and it's well implemented, but if you're like me you'll grow tired of it quickly. After a while I just really wanted to enjoy the combat and story, and not have to be constantly drawing a map. Still, even with that minor complaint, it's a solid JRPG. Well worth checking out if you like the genre!

I am all for RPG's and I was skeptical at first, but after playing the first one I was blown away. Fast paced, or slow paced, you can select your adventurers, give them names, and enjoy a dungeon crawler that you actually draw your own map. Truly fun, and challenging. Highly recommended!

Etrian games are known for drawing maps, which is a large draw to the series, but the varied character classes and added story mode (in the Untold games) have made them some of my recent favorites. If you like turn based RPGs (especially classic "dungeon crawlers"), exploration, drawing, or light-hearted adventure stories this game is definitely for you.

Fans of the EO series will appriciate this rerelease of EO 2. Features a story driven singleplayer as well as an optional form your own party mode. The game has all the classic thing from past EO games like mapping dungeons, unique classes, and of course FOE bosses.
The game doesnt do anything new apart from a new story, but is a great game to play through.

Atlus brings us yet another winner. Love the artwork, love the dungeon mapping. Etrian is a killer franchise with unique weapons, armor and monsters. Skill trees provide lots of character depth and I love the sound and music too. Some think the turn based rpg format is an old & tired genre but not me. And at this level, you get a real quality product.

Similar to the first 'untold' game this is a remake of Etrian Odyssey 2. A New story mode has been added fleshing out the events in the game. Thankfully it's entirely optional for fans looking to skip all that.
Definite must buy for Dungeon Crawler fans!

A great dungeon-crawling turn-based rpg with a nice range of difficulty options. Story mode is a definite a step up over its predecessor as well, with a more likable cast and better story. The three difficulties are very clear cut in what they are. Which is nice. Picnic makes the game so easy anyone can play it. Standard is your typical normal difficulty where loss is possible but fairly easy to avoid if you know what you are doing. Expert is just that. A difficulty for the expert. Its extremely easy to lose if you aren't very prepared and just 1 wrong action during a turn can lead to a game over. Definitely worth looking into if you like dungeon crawlers, and highly recommended if you like the EO games at all.
