    Cannot get this lock to connect. The bio locks work, but this one is worthless. Takes 4 AA batteries vs a Lithium cell, and alsom won't connect to hub 2/

    Very nice for the price, however the sensor on the lock does nothing, on the product listing, it clearly states that the lock only locks when the door is closed. However, many times after calibration etc, the lock will still auto lock even if the door is open, which is super annoying.

    This lock has been nothing but trouble and a pain to deal with. It is hard to connect it WiFi and has given false statuses on occasion, but the worst part is the battery life. I am literally replacing batteries every two weeks. It requires 4 AA batteries and I have been trying different brands(including the “longest life available” brand) and types(throw away and rechargeable) and it makes no difference. On top of the pain and cost of changing batteries all the time, this lock ONLY tells you the battery status if you look in the app! There is no way to push a low battery notification!! Considering how often the drain, it is ridiculous you have to remember to look all the time. And when they die or you change them out you have to reconnect to your Wi-Fi all over again. My other smart lock does that automatically when I change the batteries (every 6 months or longer by the way). It’s like setting up your lock for the first time every two weeks. What a mess!! I highly advise consumers avoid this lock even on sale. It’s just not worth the hassle and ongoing expense of buying batteries. And the impact on the environment of that is bad too.

      1) If you have enabled the Auto-lock function?
      2) Please tell us more details about your daily usage scenario, such as do you keep the door open for more than 3 minutes after opening it; how many times per day of this?
      3) The number of times per day to open and close the lock.
      4) How long does it take for the smart lock to run out of the battery? The mode of your battery, such as Duracell Optimum AA Batteries .

    eufy's Solo Smart Lock D20 is a nice starter smartlock - easy installation, easy app, good integrations, and good hardware make it an easy upgrade to your home security. I wish it worked with Apple HomeKit. TL;DR: - installation is easy, instructions are well-written, there's even a video, all the parts are clearly labeled and shown to proper scale in the instructions - the software does what it says it does without much fuss - the lack of Apple HomeKit integration and the curved keys that cannot be duplicated (and therefore other non-eufy locks cannot match - although you could rekey multiple eufy devices) means 4 stars instead of 5. Longer review: Install process: - Installation is super easy with well-labeled parts, and an almost intuitive step-by-step process that is well-written and also includes a video in the app so you can see exactly what they mean. - eufy does a very smart thing in setting you up for success when you open the box: the acceptable dimensions for the door and allowances in the components are included in the setup, so you know if your door size/boring dimensions will work or if you should just rebox. - the video is almost as quick as the installation. - all told, installation on my door took about 20-30 minutes (and that includes disassembly and reassembly of other safety features I had in place). App/Software: - the App has a pretty standard setup sequence: create an account, set up 2FA (two factor authentication), and add your device via QR code scanning. Once that's completed, the lock connects with your phone via Bluetooth. The status of the lock can be checked and changed via the app (locked/unlocked) and there's even a log including manual events (awesome). - the app has 2FA as part of the initial setup. - the response time from the app to the activation of the lock was very quick (like 2 seconds at most). The update time was a smidge longer. - the lock updated on connection and took about 5 minutes, which isn't too terrible Hardware: - the components seem well constructed with a minimum of fuss (probably a good reason they acquired the BMHA grade 2 certification - grade 1 is the best, grade 3 is acceptable. Grade 2 should mean years of reliability for something that sees daily use and moderate impacts - like a door). - the big concern for most outdoor smart devices is weatherproofing, the IPX3 is a nice touch for Colorado winters, we'll see if it lives up to the hype. - the deadbolt mechanism itself is very smooth. There's no jiggle to the components and the pieces looked pretty standard compared to other deadbolt internals. - the rounded keys are kinda cool, but that they can't be duplicated is a feature better suited for short-term rentals (and an expensive one, eventually). To make your entire home lock kit match the keys included, you'd have to replace every lock with eufy lock, which is also expensive. Ultimately, depending on your use-case, the eufy D20 is a (relatively) inexpensive jaunt into the world of smart locks and one that is stout enough to withstand the daily jarring likely to occur on a high-use home door.
