A great movie to add to any unique movie collection! A must have film for Halloween!

I'll admit, I love all things Evil Dead. I know a lot of fans don't like the remake at all, but I love it. It takes a more "realistic" approach to the whole story of the first movie. Out is the camp, most of the dark humor and of course Bruce Campbell's character, Ash (although there is something after the credits, it kinda seems forced, but hey, fan service am I right?) In is unrelenting horror, tons of gore and well, probably a better paced movie than the original. If it wasn't called Evil Dead I bet more fans would like it. But if you haven't seen it and are a fan of horror movies check it out.

A decent remake. It could of been a lot better. The intro was the best part. I hope they do a follow up to this one. I hope they have Shiloh Fernandez survive the house explosion and team up with Mia (Jane Levy), he would be perfect to carry on where the now bitter Bruce Campbell fails to succeed in, and that`s to carry the franchise to higher level. he horror movie category has been dying for years, Evil Dead can revive it.

I have been meaning to pick this up for quite awhile now. Was waiting for the right price but that doesn't mean it's a bad movie. This is a remake I liked even though I am a huge evil dead OG fan. This movie was scary and gory and made good use of the source material.

Having not been a fan of the original trilogy, this movie stands on its own. Love the casting, location, story arch and of course gore. So this is not for the faint of heart at all! But blood and gore hounds, fans of the original and newcomers will find this movie to be a treat indeed!

It seems like this is a hard movie to get but I think it is worth supporting this movie! We need an Evil Dead with this female lead and Bruce Campbell. But...this makes me wonder what pushes the MPAA over the edge...

I enjoyed the remake of Evil Dead. Had to watch it alone since my wife doesn't like these types of movies. Overall I would say if you have seen the original you should check it out.

Such a great movie. Not exactly a remake of the original but much scarier.

I thought this remake was really good. It calls back to the originals and has some really great scenes. The ending turns into a wild ride and it finishes excellently in my opinion.

This includes both the Theatrical and Unrated Versions. This is a 2 disc set. Good movie. Well worth the $12.

This was my first taste into the Evil Dead movies and it made me go out and buy the originals and tv series! Well worth it. Will buy on 4k eventually.

did not try to redo the classic line for line but a new take on it still has a nice creepy feel the end is cool

I have to say that I really enjoyed this movie. It is a remake so clearly if you have seen the original it will be may be difficult to enjoy this film. If you are at all accepting of remakes I think that you will enjoy this. This movie takes the 80's version and does try to update it. This movie has non of the suspense of the original but it definitely has a really fun amount of gore. I am hesitating to use the word creative here but there is definitely a but more to the bloodiness of this than the original. There are many cringe-inducing moments that come along with the buckets of blood. The characters start out a bit wooden but some of them do shine a bit more than you would expect. One thing I have to say about this movie is that I really feel that it did a good job of keeping me guessing as to who would be the new Ash. We know there will be a survivor in the end, and without having watched any of the trailers I really felt the suspense as to who would be crowned the King Baby. It is extremely difficult to separate Ash from the Evil Dead Series, but I do think that this movie is as successful as you are going to get. They didn't try to just have a new zany character that acts just like him, attempting to do such a thing would have felt as natural as Ted McKinleys presence in the final seasons of Happy Days. I would also love to argue that people mainly love the evil dead series due to the comedy aspects of parts 2 and 3 but I am very affraid of the backlack I might receive. This movie attempts to do what the original did in its own way and I think it was successful. Help other customers find the most helpf

I wasn't convinced that this remake would be anything worth watching but I'm so glad my boyfriend talked me into getting it. So worth it!

I'm glad this was a good remake because I think the darkness adds another side to a great classic.

Not on the same level as the original classic. However the gore and horror will please the fans.

Really bloody remake of the classic. The humor is gone and replaced by ultra realistic gore
