This is an incredibly sharp lens with fantastic face detection. It's very lightweight and compact so it makes it awesome for travel photography. There are a couple of issues I have with it. One, the zoom ring is a little firm. That makes it a little difficult to smoothly zoom in and out when shooting video. If you only plan to shoot stills then this is not an issue. In fact, people who shoot stills prefer the zoom ring to be firm because they want the lens to be precise and to stay where they left it. Two, the zoom happens outside of the body instead of an internal zoom. That does put this lens at risk of dirt, dust, etc to get into the lens. It does require a 77mm UV filter thread which I found for very cheap on other websites. Overall, I love this lens but it is not a good lens for dusty dirty places or if you want to shoot video. If you want to shoot stills then this is a great photo. It does everything from group shots at 24mm, portraits at 50mm, and almost macro at 105. So it's a great lens that covers such a wide range that it can take the place of 3 lenses in your bag. And that makes this a perfect lens for travel.

I've just begun taking photos with my Sony a7iii camera and this G24-105 lens. I've been quite impressed so far by the images it's captured. The range is good for travel photography, although in some situations I've needed a wider angle - but, overall, wouldn't want to lose the 105mm range which I found more helpful than what I would have gained at the other end.

I bought this 24-105 f4 for a 4th time and all are in use as "main" lens in run and gun video production unit. Tested it and saw the sharpness and said wow. Focal length covers most of our needs. I also use a 16-35 f4. And, have a couple of 70-200mm 2.8's that are amazing.

Simply wonderful lens. Covers most lengths while still producing sharp pictures and it's become the lens I use the most. It's versatile, capable and also is weather sealed! This lens is a great addition to my gear. If you are considering this lens, don't think about it and just get it. You won't regret it.

I pair this lens with my Sony A7Rii. I like the versatility of the lens and the constant F4. This is my all around lens when I am doing street photography. All I can say is...It does the job. But dont expected an F2.8 GM results. But if you are creative and have ample light. You can achieve the F2.8 result. I highly recommend it.

Great lens. This is the lens that is pretty much always on my camera. Before this I was using the Sigma 24-70 F2.8 for my daily shooting, however the Sigma 24-70 is much more heavy and bulky than this Sony 24-105 f/4. Because of its weight and versatility, I never take my camera anywhere without this lens.

Pick up this lens and you will notice the heft of the glass. Outstanding photos with ultra fast autofocus when combined with the A7c Focal length of 24-105 covers 85% of my needs. Wish is was a little wider at 15. Only downside would be the weight of this lens. Not easy to travel with as it's bulky and heavy.

I recently purchased the G 24-105 lens, and it has exceeded all my expectations. This lens is absolutely beautiful and delivers exceptional performance. Great Lens! Super versatile and very clean images.

I thought that 105 on the long end would not be much, but I was wrong. Having the programmable button reconfigured to eye focus helps me take great portraits. The manual and auto focus button is a great addition. This is great first lens for anybody entering into the alpha full frame systems.

Great for value. Auto focus is fast and oss lenses are really stable. Build quality is good sharp and nice image quality

I bought this lens because I was looking for a one lens solution; I wanted something that took great landscapes and portraits without having to swap. This lens is sharp corner to corner at both ends of the focal range and produces some high quality photos. I was originally scared of buying an F4 lens and not going 2.8, but even indoors with ambient light, I can take excellent portraits due to the IBIS + OSS on my Sony A7III. If you're only looking to buy one full frame lens, this is it!

Excellent lens for this zoom range. As sharp as I expect a zoom lens to be and the f4 aperture is great, especially on a mirrorless camera. Great do everything/walk around lens for an A series mirrorless camera. I use it on an A73.

For a full frame zoom lens toy really can’t beat this one. Unless it’s a G-master and then your talking $1000 more. Even though this lease is expensive it offers allot of flexibility when it comes to the different shots you can get.

Hands down, my favorite lens. It is heavy, but takes amazingly beautiful images, and love the focal length range. Getting a uv/cpl Hoya filter makes the images even crispier.

Do the job, good lens to walk around… mechanics and optical performance are good…construction is average, I won’t risk this lens on rain or challenging conditions.. overpriced compared to the competitors…for example the regular 24-205 rf from canon is under 500.. the RF L is over 1000 but support challenging conditions ..this lens is not grand master and cost over 1000..

Have been using these for birding photos. Works great when up close to the object.
