Ford v Ferrari is a terrific film. Based on the true story, it features excellent performances by Matt Damon as the legendary car maker Carroll Shelby and especially Christian Bale as his great drive and mechanical genius Ken Miles. The supporting cast gets it done as well. The racing footage is very well done and very convincing. The HDR10 image may not be up there with the very best of the genre but it's a clear step up from the Blu-ray. The soundtrack, on the other hand, is up there with the best that Atmos can offer. There is an almost hour long feature that documents the real life rivalry between the two car makers and how the movie was made.

Excellent movie! I wanted to purchase a 4k movie that would allow me to hear the excellence of my 4k soundbar. And I found this movie. Not only was I pleased with the great movie that has Matt Damon and Christian Bale, but it was visually stunning and the sound of the race cars made us feel as if we were in the cars with them! Heart felt, funny and exciting movie, that is guaranteed to pull at your heart strings. Whether it be the action scenes or the emotional connection you make with the characters. This is a great movie and I fully recommended it!

I love this movie. Matt Damon and Christian Bale were great. As with all movies based on true stories, parts are modified to make the movie flow better. Ken Miles was a fantastic driver and developer, very sad his career started so late and ended so early. If you love racing or even if you don’t this is a great movie to see. As a teenager I spent many weekends at stock car races, Hudson Speedway and New England Drag Way. The roar of the engines and crowds cheering and the “60’s” music brought back so many great memories. Can’t say more than that, Thank You for the return to memory lane.

I knew about Shelby, but not his earlier earlier career. It was impressive to hear his winning over and over. I've always been into his Cobra line of cars, but to see and know what he went through, it's great history. That makes just want a Cobra that much more. I've always known, Ford was a screw up, and try to change anything that worked. Gutted up and tune it to their liking, just to suck. I see it now adays, recall after recall, and not just them, other car company. Like it says in the movie, Enzo wasn't going down in history for how many car they built, but the quality of the car. And that's what's missing now a days.

Director James Mangold takes us on a thrill ride suiting for the lifestyle of the film’s real-life subjects in Ford v. Ferrari. Extraordinary talent Christian Bale teams up with the fan favorite and skilled Matt Damon to paint the portrait of two racing legends, Ken Miles and Carrol Shelby. Fitting as an exhilarating sports film, a comedy AND a heartfelt drama, this movie really has something for everybody.

This was a great 4K disc, it almost looked equivalent to native 4K discs. I couldn't tell it was upscaled, I had to look it up and I am pretty blown away by the amount of detail and work put on this. HDR made it even better when all those vehicles looked vibrant. The sound is great, it puts you right into the POV of Ken Miles and never lets go. A very nice steelbook design as well, the extra $5 was worth it. Pick this one up if you love seeing fast cars in 4K goodness.

92 % Rotten Tomatoes and that may be low- this isn't just a race car movie, its based on the true story of Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles doing what seemed impossible- taking on Ferrari in the 24 hour Lemans race in 1966. It's not 100% factually accurate but it nails the fundamentals and sticks to the story line in an entertaining manner without being boring or confusing. Casting is very good, all played their characters believably and convincingly. I've watched it three times already, its going to be one of those movies that you never get tired of, no matter how many times you've seen it.

First of all, I'm not much of a Matt Damon fan but, he absolutely nails the role of Carroll Shelby. I am a Christian Bale fan and he absolutely steals the show with his performance as Ken Miles. Two of our best actors at their prime, working in gorgeous cinematography with an absolutely lush sound field, on a topic that involves what it means to be a man in America (the best and worst of it) what's not to like? Nothing. Pretty much a flawless film and a worthy add to a movie collection. I had to go outside and put the top down and drive the hell out of my Ford the next day.

I watched Ford v Ferrari on HBO when it came out and I wasn't expecting much, but I'm so glad I watched it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I was also surprised that my teenaged daughters enjoyed the movie, too. Afterwards, I read that this movie was reference grade material for a Dolby Atmos speaker set up, so I ended up purchasing this 4K disk. The sounds are amazing! It makes you feel like you're in the car and all the speakers fire with precision. The cinematography was excellent. A great movie experience in every sense.

This movie surprised me, in a good way. It's a deep look at commitment, at friendship, and at how to live your life despite injustice. Christian Bale is wonderful. Matt Damon does a fine job too, but it's Bale's show, and he turns in one of his finest performances ever. The disc looks great. It shows off the lovely 60s-homage cinematography, and the audio track during the races will set your heart pounding. (At least, it did mine!) Highly recommended, and a bargain at the price I paid.

This is one of my favorite all time movies. I buy maybe 1 hard copy movie every 2-3 years and this was a must have. As far as race movies go, this is in a class of it's own. If you like cars and racing, you will love this. If you don't, you will still like it, unless you hate good acting, interesting characters and great story lines. Side note: One of my favorite all time cars is the Shelby Daytona Coupe. There are a few in the background in the hangar where they're building the GT40.

An excellent movie based on fact but, of course, those facts are a bit stretched in the movie script. Nevertheless this movie is very entertaining and shows the early days of sports car racing, how intensely competitive these people were and how hard money was to find. The 4K video is excellent and the sound quality is outstanding with, depending on your system, Atmos, TrueHD, DTS-HD and Dolby Digital all available. This is a must for any race fans movie collection.

I had been dying to see this film in the theaters and while I'm saddened I didn't get that opportunity I still highly recommend this film to all. The sound effects from the engines, passing of cars, explosions, crashes and so much more invigorate the soul and bring you into the film. Bale and Damon both deliver solid performances and truly bring to life a true story that needs to be heard. Drama, action, comedy and great endearing moments make this film a wonder to enjoy and even more to own to pass on its powerful performance as strong as the cars Shelby created.

The Ford vs Ferrari Blu Ray disc was available the day I ordered it. It was well packaged and in prime condition. It was a Valentine’s Day gift for my husband; he was so pleased and surprised to have this movie. (Yes! Definitely a fine Valentine’s Day gift for my sweetheart.) Mart Damon as Caroll Shelby and Christian Bales as Ken Miles, were outstanding. The cinematography was superb in that I felt right there, driving those cars. Had no idea that LeMans was a 24 hour marathon. I loved this movie for its insight into both Enzo Ferrari and Henry Ford, II.

Though it may seem like a “Dad” movie, this movie has more to offer than the nuts and bolts of car fetishizing. There’s tons of heart and excellent acting from Matt Damon and, especially, Christian Bale who delivers a powerful and sympathetic performance of a man chasing glory in a world that doesn’t want to allow the little guy to take the center stage. Gripping and exciting as all hell once the cars start up, you’re going to want to power on the surround sound and blast it because you’ll feel the engines in your bones and the movie is all better for it!

The movie itself is already established, this is a great film. This review will speak more to the 4K UHD elements of the disc. I watched this with a dolby vision enabled player/tv and dolby true-audio sound system. Put simply, this film is stunning. The color and gradations/toning is fantastic. As for the sound? If you want to shake the house you're more than able... the sound design of this film is astounding and the surrounding elements this disc provides provide a wonderful experience.

I was very aware of this event and to see it in a movie made this (Automobile) history more palpable if one can say so. Clash of the TITANS is what I would call this; it is, after all a clash of egos if you will; Ford vs Ferrari and in the end, kudos to Mr. Enzo Ferrari for having the grace as a gentleman, to accept that one is never always the TOP DOG.

In September 2019 I learned that a movie about the corporate battle on the racetrack between Ford and Ferrari would premier in November. I saw the movie on the first showing on the first day of its release. The movie tells the back story of how Ford wanted to buy The Ferrari company, but when Enzo Ferrari refused to sell, Ford developed the GT40 to beat Ferrari on the track. After seeing Ford v Ferrari, I knew that I wanted to own it. As soon as it was available on BluRay, I rushed to Best Buy to get it.

This movie does a wonderful job of explaining one of the greatest gritty talented partnerships in the history of motorsports. As a person who has been behind the scenes in more than one division of auto racing, I was extremely impressed and you owe it to yourself to experience it on 4k on a loud revealing system. It gave me goosebumps. Damon and Bale were fresh characters and extremely close to who they were representing. Made you forget that they were Bourne and Batman, fresh good stuff.

While I’m am a bit of a Motorsport fan, I tend to only have the opportunity to follow the Formula 1 season, so I do not know much about the 24hrs of Le Mans, or of the rivalry this movie lays out. I enjoyed the story and the characters and was fascinated to get somewhat of a behind-the-scenes insight into how the management of the two large automakers handled their needs and desires to beat each other on the track. Also, I had read that the soundtrack on the 4K version of the movie was very well engineered and I found it did not disappoint.
