Bought this to replace an older 12,000 BTU Frigidaire that was a real energy hog but blew really cold air. This one is more compact and energy efficient and lighter. Lighter means more plastic of course than older models, but it just sits in the window, so it doesn't need to be built like a tank. I love the energy save mode. It reaches cooling temperature, shuts of the fan and compressor then samples the air temp from the remote and kicks on automatically when it gets about 2 degrees above the setting. Or you have the choice of running it constant, full bore and just about everything in between. Lots of controllable settings and an air cleaner. I use it to cool the living room, kitchen, and dining room of the main floor of the house, about 600-700 sq feet. At night I blow a fan into the bedroom. I have a smallish older house, and it works great. It is quieter than my older model, but I think my older model pushed colder air. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 for that reason. Still, it was a great buy!

I love my new air-conditioner ! My last one was 4 yrs old and just wasn't doing a good job anymore for my studio apt - so I researched and decided on this model - was going to get the 10,000 btu like my last one but they were sold out so I went with the 12,000 btu - it was more expensive but it worked out great it keeps my whole apt comfortable - I think my apt is about 500 sq feet - I really don't like being hot ...so my window air conditioner was important to me ! I'm comfortably cool again all day in my apt :) also I worried the unit would be larger than my last one but it wasn't - and I liked the panels that came with it really improved the fit so that cool air doesn't get out . I'm glad I spent the extra dollars and ended up with a terrific air conditioner !

This is my 2nd 12,000 BTU Frigidaire air conditioner. I had one in 2015, but it started leaking into my home. Ruined my carpet and wooden floor, so I decided I was never going to buy another Frigidaire A/C, but I ended up buying 2 smaller A/C's and they're working perfectly fine. Now that summer is coming in NYC you need an A/C to survive, so I ordered this one online and picked it up and it works very well! I love how fast this A/C can cool a home. Literally! This thing cools my living room, kitchen and hallways in under 20 mins and I live in a large home. I can't say that I'm not mad at Frigidaire for offering to help pay for the damages caused by the older A/C and then NEVER contacting me again, but I needed another one and this one did the work really well.

Nice sturdy good looking inside and out. I'm glad I purchased the bracket because the unit is pretty heavy. Because of the location of my window, the AC is very close to the back and side of my couch, so the noise is a bit more than I would like. I had a handy man install as I could not pick it up, and he filled the top portion of the window with a piece of plexiglass and it looks great.

This Brand of product is being famous This is my 3rd ac it's good work great but it's too noisy fan even when is in low fan make a annoying noise like, it's fulll of water I replace this unit from a LG about the same size nice and quite even. That It was used and older I works fine I like frigidaire but they have to work on that issue is noise

Other than being extremely heavy, this unit was exactly what I was looking for. I don’t use the energy saver much, so I can’t comment on that. If I leave my bedroom door open with a circulation fan running to blow the cold air out during the day, it helps to keep much of our first floor cool. My wife likes it COLD when she sleeps and this got her approval. It’s now cold enough in our bedroom at night to harvest kidneys.

This unit cools the entire first floor of my house, and does a very good job cooling. It was easy to install, and easy to use. My only complaint is that it is fairly loud, so we have to bump the volume up on the TV a fair bit if we're watching TV while the air conditioner is on.

Shipping was free and I received it in 2 days!!!! It's pretty heavy, but the box was not damaged and in a good condition, 5 star experience for Best Buy. I researched the whole internet, read tons of reviews, and I picked this one for my apt. Based on the measurement of my apt, it's more than enough. Though my bedroom never gets cool with this AC on (installed in the living room). But the whole living room feels good enough. I live on the West side of LA. This summer I turned it on maybe 5 times. It does the job. It's pretty loud but that's how it is with every Window or wall AC unit. The thermostat doesn't really work. When you put it on the Econ mood; the remote shows it's 84f in the room, I set it on 74f, but the AC turns off!!! And when it gets back on, it's only for a minute or two, again it turns off. But that's not a big deal for me, as I don't need it at night, and during the day I put it on the cool mood.

This AC is very energy efficient and cools down my 500 SF studio very quickly. However, since the day we bought it, it has been leaking rusty water which is staining the concrete outside my window. I would recommend this only if you have dirt or concrete you don't mind staining underneath your window.

Find that this unit is sufficient to keep my living room and kitchen area cool during the summer time heat. Was easy to install, though should be a two person job for safety reasons, especially if putting in a non-ground floor window. Be sure to check out the recommended dimensions of the window to the unit before you purchase. My window is approximately 1" too wide so had to come up with creative solution for small gaps. Recommended for 550 sq ft and that would seem about right. This is almost a 5 star item; however, I find the noise level a bit much but rather have a bit more noise and be cool than hope small room fan can keep me cool.

I love all the features this unit has and it cools very nicely. It comes with a timer which I use a lot. I can set it to start cooling before I get home. The only criticism would be the economy mode. It runs for a few minutes, then stops and starts every few seconds, then cuts off for an hour or more even though it's nowhere near the set temperature in the room. Other than that I have been pleased. Installation was easy and the unit isn't too heavy, but I do recommend two people if you are using it to replace an old unit as I dropped my old one out the window when trying to remove it. The older ones are a bit heavier and hard to hang onto.

This replaced a larger, older AC that still worked, but was noisy. This is pretty quiet, but the best feature is the remote control! We have a sofa in front of the window, so no more climbing on the sofa to reach over to change the controls. Lots of different settings!

I found this unit to be a bit hard to install with the side curtains requiring assembly....Also a bit on the heavy side....really needs two to do...but once in and running it cooled a very hot smaller house down to a comfortable temp within a few hours.......

After suffering for many years without air conditioning, we finally broke down and bought this 12,000 BTU AC to cool our downstairs living area. We have a semi-open floor plan that was just smaller than the recommended maximum area. This AC helped us (and our 2 cats) survive this summer's record heat. Although a bit heavy, we managed to put it in our vinyl replacement window without much difficulty and were ever so glad we did. It is not particularly noisy and brought the temperature down into the low 70's when needed.

After reviewing several room air conditioners, I decided that for the physical size of this unit, it would be my best choice. It has a neat appearance and designed with easy learning steps to operating of the unit without having to review the instructions constantly. Yes, the fan is somewhat louder that I would like, but it does the job. I only gave it four stars as the packaging is not sufficient for shipping and I had to send the first shipment back as it was dented and had a crack on the front panel.

So pleased with the entire system. Easy to install, cools the three open areas in the apt great. Plus love the remote and all the installation brackets and window side screens and foam installation are a plus. The settings are amazing and offer more features than I'm usually accustomed to.

This thing cools down my entire 900 square feet house to 76 degrees in summer. All I can say is wow!! Not too loud and gets the job done!

This AC cools down a fairly large living room and open kitchen quickly, remote is useful and it has remote sensing. It provides a read out of the room temp so either you can manually adjust accordingly or turn on the sensing feature for the AC to do it itself. This unit is a little bit loud which takes some getting use to if it is used in a bedroom.
