Looks are not worth the problems

I will list the positives on this unit..we bought this to match the rest of the Fridgidaire Gallery appliances we have & it matched beautifully, looks very stylish. The unit is quiet & has plenty of room on the racks for bigger items.
The cons.. we bought this in April 2015. We noticed our dishes were never completely dry so we would have to set them on the counter on towels before we could put them away. We were advised to use Jet Dry tablets & there was a sticker inside the unit that recommends this also. We noticed on a normal cycles that we had small & little spots all over everything on this cycle. We bumped the cycle up to "Power Plus" & this seemed to help but there were still spots. We had our water checked to make sure the problem was not due to hard water & that was not the case. We switched to liquid Cascade Complete which took care of most of the spotting issue. The cycles run pretty long 1-1/2 to over 2 hours which can be a pain. By January 28th 2016 (still under 1 yr warranty) the dishwasher dispenser was not longer opening so dishes were not coming out clean & once we realized that was the issue, we could not get any of the wash cycles to start on the dishwasher. Service tech came out under 1 year warranty & ordered a new control board. Part did not come in & get installed until February 29th, 2016. In October 2016 we started having all of these same issues again. Called the same company to come out that installed the new board. The new part is not under warranty we were advised. We were advised there is not a diagnostic tool to hook up & determine the exact problem. They said they would start with ordering & installing a new pressure switch for $390.00. If that didn't fix the problem, they would put a new board in along with the new pressure switch for an additional $215.00. So unless someone wants to pay for the longest warranty they possibly can to have these kind of issues with a product they use once a day, I would advise anyone against purchasing this product. At our previous house, we had a cheaper Whirlpool dishwasher that lasted us 13 years without any issues. The only difference was that it was white & you could hear it run a little more compared to this Frigidaire model. For a range of $390.00 to possibly $605.00 in repairs, we're better off buying a different dishwasher & adding the longest warranty we can. Sad when this is just over 1-1/2 years old.

We originally had a Frigidaire Gallery Dishwasher 5 years ago but when we updated our kitchen we went to Samsung. The Samsung dishwasher was the worst purchase we have ever made. Luckily we had taken out the extended warranty, well after 12 service calls in 4 years I was able to get BestBuy to declare it a Lemon and we were given the opportunity to get a new dishwasher. We choose the Frigidaire Gallery the second time around and could not be happier.
The third drawer is great for items that fit well on the second rack. After a little trial and error I was able to find the right combination to get the dishes almost completely dry. It has a longer wash cycle 182 mins but it gets everything very clean including coffee travel mugs which would never get clean in the Samsung. I am extremely happy with this purchase and would highly recommend this model.

Dear Frigidaire, I’m writing to inform you about the terrible experience I just had with your product and doubly so with your customer service. I recently bought a dishwasher, range, and microwave from the Frigidaire Gallery line. My dishwasher and range stand side-by-side in my kitchen and it was important for me that they match perfectly. I have waited for a long time to renovate my kitchen and was looking forward to this project very much. When the dishwasher and range were installed, it became clear that they did not match: they were both steel but of different shades.Call#1: I called customer service the day of installation to describe the problem, and the next day, a representative came to my house. He readily acknowledged that the appliances did not match and took photographs; he said that he will pass them on to the company and that, most likely, the company will send a new front panel for the dishwasher. He told me that the company will call me. Call #2: After no one contacted me for a week, I called customer service and was told that they will call me back soon. Call #3: I waited a few more days and the called again; this time, I was told that the images taken by the representative were sent to technical support and that they will be forwarded to customer service instead. Once again, I was told to wait a few days. Call #4: When I called again, I was assured that the problem was being “worked on” and to wait a few more days. Call #5: When I called for the 5th time, I was told that it would be impossible to fix the problem by changing the dishwasher panel, as the first rep suggested, because the dishwasher and range within the same line were made from different types of steel. They would never match. At this point, I felt deceived: neither the sales representative with whom I spoke nor the information on-line suggested that appliances form the EXACT SAME LINE would not match. The customer rep on the phone then assured me that they will see what they can do and to call later. Call #6: When I called the next (and 6th time!!) I was told that the company “cannot be sure that the pieces do not match” because they don’t have any proof. When I said that they sent a rep to take photos almost a month ago, I was told that those images were lost and that they will have to send another rep. At this point, I felt incredibly frustrated that this process has been dragging on for a month and, even more so, that the sales representatives have repeatedly lied to me about the case progressing, while the images were lost a long time ago. I asked the rep on the phone repeatedly to speak with a supervisor but I was told alternatively that: the supervisor was busy, not in that day, or unavailable. Instead I was being placed on hold over and over again. When I asked for the name of the supervisor, no name was provided and I was placed on hold again. I felt incredibly frustrated by the rude and ineffective customer service. I began wondering if this sort of disrespectful, dismissive treatment is actually a form of discrimination because English is not my first language and I do not speak it perfectly. After more than 1 hr, a supervisor came to the phone. When I explained the problem (as no notes existed from my previous FIVE phone calls and a rep visit), she said that I am free to return the appliances but that the company would not reimburse me for installation. Nor would they be open to discounting the appliances given that they do not match as was promised. I responded that I will write a review about my experience with the company because other potential customers should know what to expect from customer service and the product. I was particularly upset because Frigidaire explicitly promises excellent service. Thus, here is the summary:After 6 conversations with customer service, one home visit from the rep, hours of explanations, promises, or being placed on hold, and days of frustration, disrespect, and rudeness, my dream kitchen is ruined by mismatching side-by-side appliances, which I cannot return given how long this process took. I was deceived by the information about the appliance line and by the customer service who kept promising me that “it is being taken care of,” while in reality, the images were lost and no notes existed from our conversations. I will never buy from Frigidaire again.

Doesn't Clean or Dry very Well

Well, it looks nice. That's the only reason for 2 stars rather than 0 stars. We bought this new dishwasher to replace a 25 year old washer that was not energy efficient, but great at actually CLEANING dishes and DRYING them! This new Frigidaire dishwasher would be energy efficient IF it actually cleaned the dishes on the first try. Instead, we find ourselves having to re-run the washer to get specks and food particles off our glasses and bowls that normally would have been removed by our older and supposedly less efficient dishwasher. (and, no, we do not overload our dishwasher...). Not to mention that this new Frigidaire washer is TERRIBLE at drying - - again, probably in attempts to be energy efficient. I wish we could take this back and fix our old dishwasher. With the price we paid, we expected a lot better. This new dishwasher has really been a disappointment.

Doesn't dry the dishes - not even close

We had this dishwasher for about a week. If you like hand drying dishes this one is for you! It claims to have a heated dry option, but after the load was finished we could easily grab dishes without them being too hot to the touch. In fact they were barely warm. We are used to dishwashers that actually dry the dishes, so this was a problem for us. It seems that many manufactures seem to be making dishwashers without a heating element to dry the dishes. Some claim to heat the water to a high temp and that is all that is needed. Not sure why they think that - but I can tell you that there are really only a few good dishwashers out there that actually dry the dishes. We sent this one back and I went with the top pic from a leading review magazine and am very happy now. But please be aware - this one leaves tons of water on your dishes, and in the tub which will eventually be very stinky.

I did not make the purchase at Best Buy, I just want to warn others.- Frigidare products - DO NOT BUY
After two years of normal use my Frigidaire FGHD2465NF1A (similar) dishwasher broke. These products made by Frigidare are not meant to last. I believe the expression is “planned obsolesce”? I will never buy another one of their products again. An I urge you to do the same. They're products are junk! They refuse to properly back up their products. If by some chance Frigidaire makes things right by me I will modify this review. I would love to have the chance to say they did the right thing. Maybe they could send me a check for the repair parts.Let’s see...stay tuned.

Good washing, horrible drying!

This washer is nice and quiet, and it cleans well. Long cycle times, of course, but that is every dishwasher nowadays. The 3rd rack is a big perk and since I don't use the silverware basket in the lower rack, I now have more room for baking dishes and such. However, the "heated dry" is awful (and yes, using rinse aid). Everything is wet and needs to be towel dried, even after sitting in the dishwasher overnight. There isn't a traditional heating element on the bottom of the unit, so I don't know where the heat is supposed to be coming from. The product literature claims heated dry, which seems incredibly dishonest, and was a consideration in the purchase. Coming from the previous DW where the plates were so hot and dry that you couldn't touch them, this is a major disappointment.
