Frigidaire - Home Comfort 8,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner AND Frigidaire - 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner - White BOTH UNITS ARE AWESOME!!!!! I needed to replace a 10+yrs old 12,000 BTU AC with 2 smaller units. I researched 6000 BTU and 8000 BTU. I googled model numbers, read many reviews on other units from different sites and this guy kept coming up with favorable reviews... there are 2 different models, one has an air cleaner while the other doesnt.. I purchased the one with the air cleaner since they no longer build ACs with the option of opening a vent to allow clean air in.... My main concern was Low Amperage (due to wiring in home, circuit breaker trips easily) and then of course Price and EER. This guy covered all my criteria....and to top it off he runs quietly. I use the 8000 BTU in a 10'x26' room with a small kitchenette off to the side... I bought his little brother the 6000 BTU for a 10'x14' bedroom with an adjoining 6'x9' room. Please make sure your space is adequate for these units taking into consideration windows letting in sunlight which warms up the place; as well as doorways, I have 4 doors in then 10x26 room and 2 in in the 10x14 room etc... I am quite HAPPY with both units, they work well in our current space and I can run them at the same time without my circuit breaker tripping... Depending on outside temps I have felt the difference in temp within 15 mins of turning on.. once it gets going it kicks butt!!!! Both units have a lot of various options, sleep mode where it will drop the temp by 4 degrees 1 hour after you initiate this mode, eco mode, fan only, auto, timer etc... I was upset to learn that this model was only available through online purchase, while I prefer shopping online I was worried about the bouncing and jostling that would occur while in transit but I wanted this particular unit and BB had the best price and I am please to announce the unit arrived fine, box showed no signs of damage, we did wait before installing it, so it had time to settle .... it is an unwritten rule that ACs / refrigerators need to be in an upright position to allow the gases to settle... truth or myth IDK but it cant hurt... all in all I am pleased with my purchase on all levels, from ease of ordering, delivery and of course the actual the product... This AC will cool a small bedroom or similar area effectively. However, it is way too noisy. If you are sensitive to loud sounds, then this will not be best for the bedroom. The installation was easy.

I had previously used a different brand of 8000 BTU window A/C unit. This is much quieter, seems to cool better (runs less frequently), and has a higher EER. I would recommend it to anyone who needs high cooling with only 115VAC available. Only draws 6½ amps.

It took several attempts to get a unit that wasn't damaged (the back coils were bent), however, once we did, the unit has been working pretty well thus far. It seems to cool the room nicely and the remote is a nice added feature.

Can be a bit loud if you have the fan set to high, and the energy saver mode sometimes doest kick on until the room is almost 10 degrees hotter than the unit is set to.. Otherwise it does its job.

This air conditioner has all the features I wanted! It does the job and well! No complaints!
