Posted .In order for the unit to work in a region other than the one its sold in you do need to purchase and install the optional mapping for where you are traveling. All North American units come preloaded with U.S., Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and Bahamas.

Completely useless

Picked up a signal no more than once, after maybe 30 minutes outside. Failed to find addresses, slow to charge, touchscreen difficult to use. Unusable garbage, returned.

I ran an experiment with factory car navigation, Google Maps, and this Garmin on the same trip and running simultaneously and 2 of 3 always agreed. Returned unit for taking me on a completely different route on a trip I have been making for 17 years. Routing algorithm not accurate at all. Kudos for a smooth Best Buy return of the item.
