    A Must Have

I had the Fenix 3HR before I decided to purchase the Fenix 5X. The Fenix 5X is a bit heavier than my old Fenix three HR. The new silicone strap is super comfortable so the extra few grams of the 5X is not noticeable. I actually wear this watch all day without having to take it off. I couldn’t do that with the 3HR. The amount of features this 5X has is more than the average person will use. I highly recommend this Garmin Fenix 5x, you will not be disappointed. The price is a little hefty but once you start using it you will forget about the cost.

Nice Fitness Tracker with a Classic Durable Look

I've owned about a half a dozen fitness trackers, my last one being the Garmin Fenix 3. The Fenix 5X is loaded with more sensors and capabilities than I would ever use, but they're nice to have just in case; I like options. Heart rate sensor is probably the best I've used, GPS tracking is about average, but what puts this device over the top are the TOPO maps built into the watch, it's awesome. Fortunately for me my F3 came with a titanium band that actually fits the F5X, it's easier to take off and on and change wrist if needed, plus it's very light. The watchface options are a little thin right now, but that will change with time, since the F5X has just been released. I've been looking for the perfect smart/fitness tracker watch to replace my 30 year old Jules Jergenson (gold) everyday watch and I think I found it. Of course with technology advancing as fast as it is, the F5X might be obsolete in just a few years and probably won't last as long as my JJ watch, lol. Garmin has finally released a nice fitness watch that actually is worth the investment and it looks like it will be durable and flexible enough to last several years and still be useful. If you can swing the price, I'd go for it.

so please with the look, feel and ruggedness of this garmin watch. have yet to explore all the features but so far the battery life and apps and widgets downloaded from garmin connect are great. The 5X sapphire brings it to a whole other level. the wrist based heart rate monitor is so useful and really quite accurate. quick release watch band very useful feature but dont see myself needing it unless something unexpected occurs.

I’ve been Apple for I don’t know how long. I took a chance on this watch not knowing. I don’t think I will go back to the Apple Watch for tracking. This watch does it all plus some. Minus the notifications. But who needs that. Battery life on the thing is awesome

I bought this watch as an avid runner, cycling and it’s perfect for me. I can do everything from going to the tracks doing intervals to keeping track of my reps in the gym doing weight training. My favorite thing about this watch as a runner I can have it build me a route to run and I will never be lost. It works great for someone that travels a lot as myself that goes for run in areas you don’t know. It literally gives you turn by turn directions. Still haven’t used it yet to it full potential and looking forward to doing lots more with it

This watch has all the bells and whistles and looks great too. I was debating on Apple Watch or this one, much happier with this one. I use it daily and it is very durable, thought for sure I would have scratched it by now but the metal around the face takes more damage than the face itself. Pairs great with my iPhone 8, no issues at all. Google map feature built into watch is amazing along with all the available downloads you can add to it. Stop debating and just buy this watch you won’t be disappointed.

This watch is pretty great. Lots of gps functions, has many other functions like music control, notifications, you can use it to answer calls however you cannot talk on it. But I rarely even used my apple watch to talk. All in all it’s a fantastic watch. It’s ruggedized so it will last longer with outdoors people, military, cops, ems, etc.

It’s is an amazing watch. Right out of the box i went for a trail run and it performed outstanding. The whole Fenix series is durable and will put up with normal wear and tear of the daily use. Coming from the Fenix 2 it has held up to many marathons and Spartan race. With the new Fenix 5 i am sure it will out perform my Fenix 2 without letting the rugged toughness and durability slip. Definitely a watch for a any outdoor, hunter or military/first responder.

This watch is worth the price or more. I had a pathfinder that claimed to have some of the options this watch has, but it is not even close. When you team this up with the app, it becomes a health tool to help push you to do more. This dang thing keeps upping my steps and adding me to challenges with others in the Garmin ecosystem. Net of it is, this is the best I have felt in a long time. Thanks Garmin.

This is a great piece physically but the software on the device as well as the app need the help of people that have had success in wearable tech. But I love it and wear it everyday

Love this watch, upgraded from Fenix 3 HR for the mapping capability, garmin still has issues with initial release firmware but updates have come quickly and have addressed most of the glitches I've found.

By far, this is the best watch for the multi-sport and workout enthusiasts. I hesitated to buy this watch due to the price, but well worth the price. Packed with features and tracks almost everything you can do Fitness-wise. I had the Apple Watch for a year and really liked it, but NOT a serous sport watch (in my opinion) and terrible battery life! The Fenix 5X solves both of these issues and as far as a smart watch, it has enough of the features that I need or would want in the watch. Lastly, the watch is well made and tally feels great on my wrist. A bit heavier and is very large on the wrist, which I actually prefer. If this is an issue for you get the 5 or 5S, they are 42mm and 47mm instead of the 5X at 51mm. Overall, glad I bought this watch; I have not looked back!

I have had a number of GPS watches over the past 14 years-Timex with separate GPS pod, Suunto X9i, Motoactiv, and Fenix 2 (bought just before the 3 was announced). Each watch has been better than the previous (though the Motoactiv had maps which the Fenix 2 did not). I have had the 5X a month now and have hiked, run, and biked with it. I am getting about 8/9 days on a charge so far representing about 8 hours of GPS use in each charge span. Hiking is nice because trails (in National and State parks so far) show up on the map. I haven't used the function to generate predetermined courses based on desired distance yet, but will do so soon. I like the customizable face that allows me to show sunrise/sunset, steps, charge, date and moon-though I wish it showed the phase of the moon like my Fenix 2 does. It is nice having the built in HR though I still use the strap for running and biking. GPS capture is nice and fast-faster than my Fenix 2. Even though I have an older Garmin HR strap, the watch did a software update and captures more dynamics than were captured on my 2. If you have a Fenix 3 (especially the HR) this watch probably isn't worth upgrading for due to the cost. It is definitely a huge leap from my Fenix 2. I have yet to use the find restaurants, etc feature but will try it out the next time I travel. Overall a very solid product-expensive, but it is intuitive and a good every day watch.
