I looked over tons of reviews on tons of different GPS units and thought they were all a bit ridiculous. People were moaning that it would not update fast enough. MINE DID!!! It would not read out the turn by turn. MINE DID!!! It was hard to pick up a signal. MINE DID!!! And in the middle of nowhere America none the less. Bottom line, for the price I paid for this unit. It works perfect. We drove from one coast to the next and it did not let us down once. When it gives you an estimated time of arrival, it is spot on! It even let me know when a school zone was approaching in a town I did not know even existed. It is a great size as well. This is a great GPS. BUY IT!

I love how I can just search based on topic or specific thing. Works out perfect when we travel because it makes it that much easier to find things such as shopping, food & so on. Easy to use. For the price it is definitely worth it. The only thing I do not like is the cigarette charger. Those tend to break easier as opposed to a removable plug that you can just insert. So for this reason I purchased the extended warranty. I also love how it has lifetime maps.

At first I was having a problem with this unit. Not the fault of the unit. I had owned a previous model and thought I knew what I was doing. They have a slightly different method of searching on this model and I had to look it up in the help file which is in the units memory. I now use it every day. I even use it when I know where I am going just for the reminder of my exits. I like the larger screen than my previous model. They have also changed the mounting from the previous model but it still snaps onto the ball mount of my dash mounted garmin holder. I did not use the suction cup mount. Now the unit has a removable piece that has the spring loaded hole to snap onto the mount. The unit can very easily be removed from this piece without snapping it off of the ball mount. Very nice.

Bought this unit since I had been in need of a gps for quite some time. Had a previous Garmin but the touch screen was inaccurate over time. This Garmin has a large screen which I really love and I like that when I'm on the highway this shows me exactly which lanes I should be in. This Garmin also shows me different things in whatever area I'm in. Ex: can find coffee shops, theatres, bars, restaurants etc. I also bought this Garmin for $140 on sale which was an added bonus. I would recommend this Garmin to anyone in need of a gps system.

This GPS is packed with useful features, and is something I never leave home without taking it my car. Creating favorite locations is very easy, just press the car icon and name your location. The screen size is a bit larger that what I was used to, but it does allow the user to see details at a greater distance. I am using it with a mounted disk, which makes the GPS a little top heavy. So will try the friction- mounted holder available at Best Buy. Overall, this is the best GPS I have used so far.

I purchased this GPS so I could have the ability to update the maps. I had an old one that was out of date with new road construction.
Traveling from Virginia to Wisconsin, this Garmin routed me very nicely and even had some very remote gravel back roads available. It allows you easy marking of favorite spots and locations. Navigation is intuitive and quick and the screen is large, so you don't spend a lot of time messing with the GPS.
I recommend this product.

I helped my mother purchase this item. She did not need Bluetooth so this was perfect for her. The lifetime updates are great and as soon as we got home it was very easy to update via the computer. This is the 3rd GPS she has bought from this company. The larger size is great as she is getting older.

Great Screen Size & Easy To Use

I had read many reviews before purchasing this unit & found this is a very easy device to use. I chose this model because of its 6 inch screen which makes for easy viewing from the dash mount. I also had purchased the their top model dash mount which has more weight than the lesser cost model. The dash mount has a tacky bottom surface to help keep it in place, I prefer this over using the suction cup style mount that is included with this GPS unit. The included power cord has a longer length than most cords that are supplied with cell phones, so, you can place the GPS just about anywhere in your vehicle. I also bought the soft carry case to protect the screen from scratches when storing the unit. I've always wanted a GPS unit & had relied on a cell phone in the past. But with my Garmin unit, I am able to glance at its larger screen much easier than the cell phone, and seeing clearly how far away I am from my next turn. Plus, I like the fact of being connected directly to the GPS satellites & not worrying about being in a fringe cell phone reception area. The unit counts down in 0.1 mile increments as you're driving and displays your vehicle speed as well. Icons also will show up on the screen for various gas stations & restaurants you are nearing. I thought it was so cool to see their actual business logos popping up on the screen. This is an excellent unit & a great value for the price. I highly recommend this product.

This does everything it say's it does. Very easy to learn and use. It tells you the name of the street to turn on. I have regestered it and it was an easy thing to do and now I do know my maps are up to date.It is supposed to tell me if there is a traffic jam in my route. So far I have not had any traffic problems but as well as this works on the speed limit and small landmarks such as gas stations display, I'm sure the traffic feature will work just fine. There are no advertisements on this Garmin 55LMT at all. This unit only has maps of America and NO Canada at all. If you need Canada you need to get the Garmin 56LMT.

Nice, big screen, although the display could be a bit sharper. Very easy to use, with intuitive controls and settings. Updating the software and maps was also very easy, after plugging it into my lap top. Lots of points of interest, and fast method of getting to them. Very useful.

I love my new Garmin nevi 65. The maps were expired on my old Garmin and I liked the larger screen on this one plus it has free upgrades for the life of the device. It is easy to program and I feel confident on routes I am not familiar with when traveling.

Simple to set up for the initial use, this GPS unit has an excellent range of features and options for about any type of planned (or unplanned) trip: Basic quick routing for a short jaunt, detailed routing for previously untraveled areas, and easy-to-use options for fuel economy, most direct route, and shortest drive time. The recalculation time is very quick if you miss a turn or a suggested route is unusable. All in all, it's just what I needed: easy to use, a few frills, clear spoken directions and the ability to reroute on the fly.

After seeing aftermarket navigation systems ranging from $100-$800, I decided the best fit for my girlfriend would just be a basic one so she no longer had to use google maps on her phone. The initial software update took a little bit of time but the product works flawlessly and would def recommend it, especially for the price! Nice wide screen, voice guidance, everything you need in a basic navigation system with a great price.

This GPS was purchased for a second vehicle. My other Garmin GPS is ten years old and works great. This GPS is extremely easy to use with lots of great features, including a big easy to read screen. The split screen feature of multilane off-ramps gives a lifelike picture to show you exactly what lane you need to be in.

It works great with some customization. Occasionally takes you through a road with a bunch of lights rather than a main highway, but that can be tweaked in the settings. One minor issue I have not resolved yet, is that you can see your route clearly, but the roads or exits around it are not clearly defined. For example, if you see a gas station on the map while driving, the exit ramp may not be visible because it's not part of your current route. Overall, it's easy to use and accurate for the price.
