Great watch. Good battery life and light weight. The app and all the tracking features is just what I was looking for.

This watch is not my favorite of the Garmin brand but i like the smaller watch face along with the battery life. I also like the watch faces that you can get. It spices up the watch but it does burn the battery. I also do not care for the watch band. I wish they made a leather band for this watch. I chose this watch because of the name. Garmin is a great brand that I believe puts a great deal of effort into their product.

Bought it during during the thanksgiving week. Coming from an Apple Watch, I like how Garnin provides more information when it comes to fitness. I looks great and have no issues with the band. The only think I do not like are the buttons. They feel cheap.

I loved my Vivoactive 3, so when it stopped counting flights of stairs because its altimeter died, I naturally got a Vivoactive 5. Imagine my disappointment when I found that it couldn't count stairs right out of the box! Yes, they took away that very useful feature. I give it a 3, because it's a good watch in all other areas, but I returned it for a (more expensive!) Venu 3 because counting stairs is important to me.
Note: The salesman at Best Buy looked it up and told me the watch had that feature, and seemed genuinely surprised when I brought it back the next day.

Looks elegant but not what I had expected. You can’t even change faces, doesn’t have many features, and after 1 week and a half it kept disconnecting from my phone on its own. I had to return it.

It was a gift for my husband who is still getting accustomed to it but likes the features that he has used. He likes the normal watch face and size is just right.

I don't even have the watch and I can tell it is a downgrade from the 4. I have the 4 and NOTHING will beat the always on display. Garmin stands out as a company that produces some of the most accurate watches. The idea of needing apparently to compete with the likes of samsung by presenting a watch that has a colorful screen is ridiculous. I don't care for always needing to turn my wrist. I want to be able to take a glance over to the watch and see the time without ALWAYS having to twist my wrist to activate a screen. This latest release looks cheap. The 4 having been released in 2019 is bigger, more rugged, and refined looking. NOTHING beats the always on display.
The vivoactive 5 offers in the settings an option for 'Display On'. The settings on the device allow for each individual consumer to set up their watch for what works best for them.

The vivoactive 3 was much better unit. This is cheaply made small unit buttons hard to press programing next to impossible to setup very time consuming and will not stay as programming I would not recommend this unit to anyone.do not waste your time

Stay far far away from Garmin watches. They have a software flaw and files fail to sync after owning a while, ever increasing in frequency. You then have to jump through complex computer files hoops to try and fix. After a few try you may get it. Mine is now just a watch until I can afford something else.
