I am usually all about the function and less about the form. I like almost everything about the Vivoactive HR, except the cheap plastic case. It dent around the face when you accidently hit something like a door facing. a little metal band around the face would make a great improvement. I previously had a Microsoft Band and loved it, only reason I did not upgrade to the MS Band 2 is that it's not waterproof. All in all the price of the Vivoactive HR is too high for the quality of the case, you can see the dents in the attached pic on the left side of the face.

I originally checked out several Android watches but the fact that most of them only last 1 day or two at most was a deal breaker for me. The VivoActive HR has alot of features i really wanted and some more that may prove useful. It has a 24 hour heart rate monitor, that can be turned off. I got about near 5 days with it on and have more battery left without it but i didn't really go more than 5 yet because i decided 5 days was ok if i wanted to keep using HR monitor. It is not the most attractive but i didn't care. The bands were replaceable, check ebay. The face can be changed, there are many selections for faces, app and widgets available on the garmin app store. It will keep track like any fitness tracker of daily steps, stair climbed, etc. When I selected an activity such as walk, run, bike, it turns on the GPS for tracking, you can also create your own watch faces and activities. I was able to link my treks bike cadence and speed sensor to the watch as well as a external HR monitor i had. I am able to see incoming calls, texts, and email. The reviews made me a little nervous about getting the watch with people having issues outside of warranty so i purchased the geek squad 2 year protection for the watch so if i have any problems geek squad would take care of them. I called Garmin tech support on a few issues because the manual is not that Great, but they were very good at helping me. The stairs they claim have to be at least 10 ft to pick it up, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't a few times it went off when i was driving, not sure sure about the altimeter on it. I put on my Samsung fit to compare heartrate readings and they were identical. People complain about the sleep monitoring, but i take off the watch at night so i basically puts what time i take it off and what time i put it on as sleep time, but it lets you put in your normal hours you sleep. All in all a good watch. It has it's quirks but i'm not hardcore thinking it has to be perfect. i'd say keep Garmins number handy if you need help with setup and get geeksquad just in case.

I purchased this to track my walking and bike rides but it can track just about any event. It has a built in GPS and 24 hour heart rate monitor. All kinds of apps are addable to it and there are alot of garmin accessories for purchase. I purchased a step counter that is far more accurate in counting steps and a speed and cadence sensor for my bike. It uses garmins os not android or anything like that and i love the battery i typically get about 5 days more / less between charges. The one think i whole heartily recommend is that you purchase geek squad.. I did on the first one after reading some of the reviews... my 1st one died after 10 months, so i was able to get a replacement with it... all in all its a great watch if you want to track your exercises or heartrate.

This smart watch does it all, very pleased with all the widgets and apps available for the Vivoactive HR on Garmin's Connect IQ. My only two complaints with the watch is that the XL size does not have the other color bands available for purchase like the standard size does. I also wish the screen resolution was a little more brilliant. Other than that, it is the best active watch for the money!! Very happy with it.

I bought this on a good discount deal for black friday and wanted to utilize this great tool for fitness. It really helps to inspire you to push for that extra XX calorie burn you didnt get during the day. I didnt trust the calorie burn counter too much, seemed way too easy to hit my goals, but I am no expert so I left it at that. But I did burn more by the mere fact it puts fitness in your face all the time, reminding you - so in that sense it really adds.
I didnt realize till after a week or so of wearing this, I dont like to wear watches all the time. And this is what you need to do with this thing. It was comfortable, but not to me having to waer it 24/7, even to bed to get your resting stats.
Recommend, but realize its a commitment to get the full picture.

I like the Vivioactive HR watch, but I don't own a smart phone and wanted to be able to download watch data to my Ipad. Unforntunately, attempts to do so haven't been successful. There seems to be a glitch in Garmin's programming to be able to accomplish it. Contacts to Garmin for advice about the issue have not answered the issue.

Having gone through 3 Fitbit charge watches by accidentally wearing them in the pool or hot tub I decided to find a waterproof fitness tracker. This one is great for me.... it tracks every activity I do... even swimming.... and with its GPS I feel it is very accurate with distances even if your stride length varies. Can link with Stava or Fitbit or my fitness pal. I really enjoy it.

I am really happy to use the capabilities on the vivoactive. it monitors my pulse rate as I work out and gives me information on the fly for heart monitoring. I haven't been in the pool yet, so we'll see.

The device itself seems great so far. Step tracking works...though i sometimes wonder if it overcounts. I like the calories burned feature, and have been losing weight so far. There's even a weightlifting app. There is every second heart rate tracking, and this can be used with an ant+ band if you want to be extra sure when exercising. That said, for me, the rubber strap didn't play well with my skin and I had to get a much more comfortable and better looking steel band. One other down side is the backlight isn't very smart and you often have to tap the face to get it to turn on even after playing with the settings.

I like the ability to track my activities (steps, runs, abd bike rides) for both outdoor and indoor as well as my heart rate and sleep. So far, I've used it for almost three weeks and it has been on point. I also like that it keeps the charge for 7-8 days. There are other features that I haven't used, but have available for the future. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking to track their daily activities and to training.

Ton of great features. Really like the additional IQ Apps that can be installed. It does fit weird on my wrist, but it maybe I'm still use to my old fitness band. I do have it connected to a non-Garmin HR strap and bike speed/cadence sensors. Works great!
The only issue I've noticed is the accuracy of the stair count, but that is not a deal breaker for me.

This tracker offers lots of data displays and information. A little overwhelming at first, but very detailed and has so many options to track different exercises. The battery life is FANTASTIC. I charged it once in 7 days with 5 workout days and still had 20% left. Better than Fitbit's 4-5 day max. The My Fitness Pal app that it works with is so much better than Fitbit's. If you like data and details, get this. The only thing I do not like is that it is a lot bulkier than the Charge HR that I had. Other than that. It is awesome!

I am 61 and over the course of my lifetime have never been in the habit of wearing a watch as I am very active and do not like having something on my wrist. I put the Vivoactive HR on the day after I purchased it and have only removed it for recharging. It has been several weeks now and I find the data helps me with keeping my weight in check and the golf function has been much better than I ever imagined. The Vivoactive has proven to be a great piece of equipment to enhance my activities and provide the added level of data interpretation for use with my workouts. Tracking my activities has helped me see just where and when my shortcomings arise.
