Except for syncing, this is a great tracker. Not sure why, but it takes 6-8+ attempts to get it to sync. I bought it mostly for the sleep tracker, but it easily tracks everything else, too. Heart rate would be nice, but you'd need another monitor and that's just a pain. Easy to wear and waterproof, so you can wear it in the shower/pool. Also works in conjunction with myfitnesspal to track food intake etc. Bought the XL band, but will need the regular size if I lose much weight as I only have 3 holes to go.

Just wanted something to track steps and sleep. This does both...and a couple of other things. The app is easy to use and it syncs easily (for the most part) with my phone. My tablet often requires 8-10 tries to get it to sync, which was a pain. The clasp on the band also gave out after about a year. I bought some elsewhere and they have a regular buckle clasp which has worked out better than the twist lock thing on the original. It is also compatible with my fitness app where I track my food, etc.

I love my vivofit3. It fits comfortably on my wrist with no problem, time and stats are clearly visible and it's waterproof! I never have to worry about taking it off to charge, because the battery last for the year! I'm so glad I switched from a Fitbit, because I was tired of charging it all the time. The only thing I miss is a heartbeat tracker, but it does account for calories burned, so that's good!

I am in my 60s and selected this tracker because of the one year battery life. It is hard enough to keep my smartphone charged. The app has worked and never locked up like the cheap trackers apps did. I also like the red line that reminds me to move and walk. This has helped me lose weight by keeping me active. The band also has a lock on it so it doesn't pop open. I have had it on in the shower with no problems. I will test it in the pool when summer comes. The only negative for me is I wish the display was bigger. I can read it without my glasses, but bigger would be better. I will buy this again as a gift for my wife soon.

I've worn a Garmin vivofit 2 since 2013. At the time I didn't need anything fancy, just something to count my steps. My previous step counters were given to me as part of my company's wellness program and they were cheap pedometers that hooked on my waistband of my pants. While it was somewhat effective, I wanted something that wouldn't get in the way of my seatbelts and somewhat waterproof.
The Garmin vivofit line does that and more. They are waterproof up to 50 meters so showering and swimming are no problem. The greatest consideration was battery life. The vivofit line battery life is rated for year. It has a user replaceable battery so when it does run out, you can swap it out yourself or take it to any watch place for a battery replacement. This is huge because I knew that if I got my wife a Fitbit and she had to take it off to recharge it, it wouldn't go back on her wrist.
We've enjoyed our vivofit 2 so much that we got the kids vivofit jr. activity trackers for them to track towards their activity goal. They enjoy getting their goals so they can sync to the Garmin vivofit jr. app. It has an adventure trail where they get animal facts.
However, over time the vivofit 2 bands have cracked and those bands are unique to the vivofit 2 device. Fortunately, the vivofit 3 band is much easier to obtain since it is physically identical to the vivofit jr activity trackers.
While the vivofit 4 is available at the time of the purchase of the vivofit 3, the vivofit 3 is at a good price and still has compatibility to connect to a heart rate monitor if I choose to purchase one at a later date.

I replaced my other vivoft with this product. It is somewhat big for my wrist and i know the medium would be too small. But the did not have a large in this color. However you can adjust it and secure it. It has quite a few things i really love like displaying my steps, the time and date etc. It states its waterproof. It synchs very well with the Garmin app.

I purchased this as a replacement to my original vivofit which broke (after 2 1/2 years of use and no battery replacement) I originally thought that just needed a batter but one of the tabs inside the battery compartment was breaking off. But enough with the original on with the new. It is an improvement over the old one in that it illuminates. Otherwise functionality is pretty similar overall. The connect app works for the most part and it does have an "auto-sync" feature similar to the vivofit 2 which my wife has. (she also had the vivofit 1 and upgraded, her original vivofit is still going strong on one of my daughters). These are similar to alot of other fitness bands in what they do. I like the simplicity of them as well. the big selling feature for me is the not having to charge it. As long as I get a good battery life out of it and it does not break I will be fully satisfied with it. Only time will tell. :)

Vivofit 3 Tracks Everything Important to Me!

This new Vivofit 3 is a great tool to track my activities while encouraging, motivating, and challenging me! Besides all that, it keeps me on time as well. It really is light and comfortable. Once more, it is easy to lock the band in place so I don't catch it on something and lose it somewhere. A battery that does not need recharging is icing on the cake.

I purchased this as a gift for my mother. It's easy to use, she set everything up in about 10-15 minutes, been wearing it regularly and said it is comfortable on her wrist. Accurate activity tracking thus far. Liked the fact that it had a replaceable versus rechargeable battery.
