Great for my daily active exercise regime and to track my sleep patterns. My Vivosmart HR is not only accurate but waterproof and beside tracking a variety of activities I perform it also counts the number of times I am going up and down stairs. Best of all, if I haven’t been active enough it reminds me to get up and move. I especially like how it measures my daily deep and light sleeping patterns during the night.

It did what I was hoping for and a bit more. HR monitor seems quite accurate. Notifications from a phone are quite useful-even though you can't do much with them. It's not a full blown smartwatch. This model does not have GPS and I don't think it has an altimeter. However, this probably improves battery life. I charge every 3 days or so but it can probably go for 5. It looks like all Garmin watches use the same Connect app, which is pretty good. It logs and graphs HR, sleep, steps, and others.

I bought it for my father and he is happy using it. It tracks his steps, distance, heart rate and it also integrate very well with phone music, weather app etc. water proof makes it more favorable. Big screen is plus. There are many other activities can be tracked. App is also good for historical analysis. Garmin did a good job.

I had a Fitbit Charge HR before I owned this activity tracker and I like the Garmin much better. The only thing I liked more about the Fitbit was its app and it seemed to count stairs better. This Garmin does a terrible job at counting stairs climbed, it might give me 1 set of stairs climbed out of 4 so I dont rely on it for counting stairs climbed. I checked it against my old chest strap Heart rate monitor and it kept an almost perfect pace with my chest strap Heart rate monitor. It also has alot of user options on the tracker that are very helpful, but some of the options need to be changed with a PC usb link or bluetooth if your device supports bluetooth settings changes. I found that my battery lasted a great deal longer when I turned off the "Move" feature and the auto backlight feature. The "Move" feature just tells you move every hour or so if you have been sitting. The auto backlight feature is for when you flick your wrist upwards it lights up so you can see the face lit, it turns on alot when moving and lights up using alot of battery power. What I like most is that has so many more customizations on it when compared to the Fitbit and it also has a Constant heart rate monitor option for when your working out. Also it is waterproof.

Love my Garmin. Waterproof, great battery life, heart rate monitor and basic notifications. I really didn't want to get into the smart watch thing and this was a great middle ground. I can get text message notifications but also have the opportunity to turn them off. It's nice to not look at an LCD all the time and the e-ink looking display is very attractive. Battery lasts for about 2 weeks and the heart rate monitor is pretty darn accurate. The app is a bit...odd...but the beta testing within the app itself is much much better.

This is a great device, for a lot of reasons. The three most important reasons to me, though, are that it doesn't look like a space oddity like a fit bit, it tracks things pretty reliably under most situations, and you don't _have_ to log in to facebook, google, or any social media to sync your results online. You can do that from within their app, but it's an option, not a requirement. Yay for privacy!!
I wear the thing 24/7 almost all the time because it's comfortable enough to do so, and found that even when carrying my laptop case it still measures steps accurately (carrying the laptop minimizes arm movements). I bought the thing mainly for the heartrate tracking - to me it's brought me some peace of mind since heart disease runs in my family and it's about this age where problems have started to happen to other family members. Their problems included sudden jumps in heartrate and high resting heartrates, so you can see why the device is important to me. Looks like my activity choices over the years are paying off! No weird heartrate patterns so far. The device is just doing what it's designed to do but it's been helpful for me.
If the phone app were less battery consuming I would give this rating a 5 instead of a 4. My primary phone is a 2 year old Samsung that normally drops from 100 to 60% by end of day, even with bluetooth on and connection to my car or earpiece. With the app, though, I would need to recharge the phone after about 4 hours. Thinking this was the age of the battery I installed it to a brand new Samsung notes with no other long running apps in the background, but got the same basic results - instead of having to recharge in 4 hours I had to recharge in about 6 hours. For me, hitting the 30% battery level means it's time to recharge. This isn't that big of a deal, though, since you can sync when attached to a pc.
Overall, great job Garmin!

Keeps track of my steps, calories burned, and heart rate with accuracy. It's waterproof, so I could even use it in the pool or at least not worry if I forget to take it off when I hop in the shower after a workout.
It works well. I have to charge it about twice a week and it charges fully in a little over a half an hour. It's everything that I was looking for in a fitness band and I'm very happy with it.

I am loving this tracker. Easy to set up. Battery lasts many days. Tracks sleep, steps, heart, and makes a great watch. Great functionality for the price. I bought this model for my king sized son and he wears it every day. He's super tough on watches and it stands up to his rugged treatment.

The device is easy to setup and use. I like being able to control my music, read email, and check weather. The Connect app lets you see the progress of people with whom you are connected. Heart rate, steps, and time round out the essentials. It's waterproof where the competitors are water resistant.

Bought this for my hubby and I've been wearing it some too. Love that it's water proof-swam in it with no problem. And love that you get text & phone notifications. As for accuracy I think it's pretty good. I have noticed that not all my steps or stairs get counted if I'm carrying something but that's expected with no GPS. Overall I've been super pleased and am planning on buying myself one. And yes I did my research, chose this over other brands & would definitely still choose this one again.

Works very well. Love the app. I only wish that the band was replaceable. That's the only weak spot on it from what I've read on other reviews. I'm keeping it, I just bought the extended warranty to cover the band if it ever gives any problems. Too Good to let it go back because of a band. It feels very comfortable on my arm. It seems very accurate. I wear it snugly and it keeps contact well on my arm.

MY wife and i both had FITBIT Charge HR's, what a piecof junk they were., My wife wanted to try the HR2 and I needed something I didnt have to worry about getting wet and still monitor my Heart rate, I get alerts from Iphone and eveything else, what more could I ask for. I can get weather updates on my wrist, check calories eaten, steps taken, sleep from the ight before, (there is History available on the app) and Heart rate History. Glad I made the switch, never go back.

I use many Garmin products for cycling and have a Garmin scale. I took a long time before finally buying this product. What the Vivosmart gives me is a way to monitor my rest and recovery. I can check my resting heart rate to see if it is elevated and possibly indicating I need to take a rest day. By monitoring my sleep I have a way to concentrate on making sure I'm resting well at night. When I go to the Garmin Connect dashboard I can see a full measurement of exercise, diet, and rest/recovery. The battery seems to last for many days, though I wish there were an alarm of sorts to warn about low battery. I don't use it for steps and stairs, so I can minimize those activities. I also like to be able to easily have a glance at weather. Once in a while I actually look to see what time it is and date (I haven't worn a wrist watch in many decades). I was hesitant because of reviews I read. I still use a Garmin heart strap during exercise and don't rely on accuracy of the Vivosmart; haven't compared it. Wearing this all the time also is a reminder that I'm working on my health 24 hours a day and not just the hour or two I exercise during a day.

I researched all the options available and this product was the best for features and price. This is a great product for anyone who is starting any kind of diet / exercise program. It is comfortable to wear, and easy to use. The smart phone app associated with this product is a must as it really helps manage and record all activities, and is compatible with other diet apps to give you a complete picture of your diet and exercise efforts. The only improvement would be an easier charging system. It is sometimes not accurate in recording stair climbs.

Garmin has developed a solid product that does what it says it will. I like that it is waterproof, as accurate as any activity tracker, well made, and the screen is relatively scratch resistant. If it was a bit thinner than it would be closer to 5 stars.

It works great at doing what it was made to do. I love that it is water protected and I do not have to worry about taking it off when I shower. Also I cannot wait until I get to swim while wearing it to see how it tracks my swimming. I know how well it tracks my Steps, Heart Rate, Activities, and Sleeping very well.
