Posted .We'd like to address any issue you're having, and provide information about your microwave. We recommend opening the door by pressing the center of the release latch button. When you press in areas off center/further from the center, the latch can be harder to operate. Your feedback regarding the visibility of the buttons, the door and the overall microwave will be shared with our product team for future consideration.

For the same size, this was heavier, and the metal construction seem to be thicker. The only problem is the control panel is black on black and we couldn’t see the numbers. We wish the AC plug was an angled plug as it sits on a short shelf, which extends the unit out.

But after that you could use the microwave with no problem.

Posted .Starting April 1st, all countertop microwave ovens come equipped with a Child Resistant Oven Door. Opening the microwave door now requires a two-step process for enhanced child safety. The use of child-resistant oven door latches by all manufacturers of microwave ovens helps to reduce the likelihood of young children handling hot foods and beverages items. This safety feature can be disabled if not needed. 1. Press and hold the “7” key for 3-5 seconds or until you hear a beep. Release. 2. Press the “9” key. Release. 3. Press the “0” key. Release. There will be two shorts beeps and the display will flash "UnLo" to confirm the default condition has been updated successfully. -Vikki@GEAppliances
