I would give it five stars except for the door latch is a hard push - tough for those with hand issues (arthritis, carpal tunnel etc). Otherwise, very pleased.

Posted .Starting April 1st, all countertop microwave ovens come equipped with a Child Resistant Oven Door. The use of child-resistant oven door latches by all manufacturers of microwave ovens helps to reduce the likelihood of young children handling hot foods and beverages items. This safety feature can be disabled if not needed. 1. Press and hold the “7” key for 3-5 seconds or until you hear a beep. Release. 2. Press the “9” key. Release. 3. Press the “0” key. Release. There will be two shorts beeps and the display will flash "UnLo" to confirm the default condition has been updated successfully. -Vikki@GEAppliances

Works though. Its important to use the suggested settings. As 4 min on a steam bag of frozen veggies will not work. However, the frozen vegi button amd weight worked well.

I thought well best buy may have better quality that why it’s pricier. Of course i didn’t buy the one from Sam’s club so i dont know how it is, but one I have been using it about 6 months now. So, here how it is. Loud, unnecessary unclock function, and nothing special! It is worth about $50!

The newest one is still working great, but this first one I got in 2023 was fine until it suddenly started thumping. After online search we are afraid to use it. I'm considering purchasing another one. Sad that this has happened.

Label on the front says to remove protective film before use -- hmmm can't even remove the yellow label! Have no idea what "protective film" is being referenced.

Posted .Thanks for your feedback. A protective film can often be found covering the control panel. Unplug your microwave and wipe the control panel with a soft, damp cloth. Then dry thoroughly. Doing so may cause the film to pull away from an edge enough for you to remove completely. If that doesn't work, take a small piece of cellophane tape and dab the sticky side around the edge of the controls. To remove the yellow label, rub a generous amount of liquid dishwashing detergent around the outer edges of the label and allow it to soak in. Then try removing the label using only a soft cloth. You must not use any type of chemicals or abrasive pads as they will damage the microwave door and panel. -Vikki@GEAppliances
