Turns out these models are known to short due to the "overuse of the door" (that was from a GE tech that came out). Tech said dont bother repairing as he would charge more than it costs to buy new (hows that for quality and sustainability). So I went ahead and bought an open-box one that happened to be at the local Best Buy... Worked for 2 weeks. Guess I should be happy since it allowed me to return within the 15 day period. Well, on to another brand (Whirlpool) but i heard that there really are only a couple manufacturers of these microwaves, and they resell them under the different appliance brands. So who knows, just hoping this new Whirpool one lasts 3 years instead of 2 weeks...

It works well, and the 30 second timer is convenient. A nice new feature is that it will not allow you to accidentally start cooking if you wanted the timer, not the cooking time, without first opening the door.

Best buy helped us in a pinch - we needed a microwave fast - this was a floor model - they sold us and it has all the things our more expensive model didn't have - bigger turntable surface, continues to remind you on the timer (last one only dinged once). would recommend highly.

I love the surface lights and the fan. It was pretty easy to learn to use. I am not used to so much power though. It warmed up my baked chicken quite nicely without hot spots or drying it out.

The one I replaced had a few more features, but I rarely used them. The one thing that bothers me is the clock. The numbers are very close together and are are not legible from a distance.
