We bought this to replace the exact same style of microwave. The one we were replacing was only about 4 years old, but it kept shorting out. We thought it would make it easier to just get the same one, but we were wrong. The newer model is a lower quality and the holes are in different spots, so we had to drill again. If you are in this situation, just get the microwave you want. This one isn’t that great, and it’s not any less work.

My original GE over the counter MW was a gift. It failed after only 2 years of service. Tried self repair to no avail. Did not want to repurchase same but did, because it was only the 1000 W unit in stock that would physically fit without complications. Also, the pushbutton controls are impossible to read unless the kitchen is brightly lit.

If the Microwave display is starting to only show partial characters, for example, segments of the numbers/letters are missing, or has started to dim or fade over time, try disconnecting power to the Microwave for a couple of minutes to reset the controls. If this does not help, service will be needed. You can schedule service online by visiting the GE Appliances website or by calling 833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) M-F 8AM-8PM ET, Sat-Sun: Closed.

Looks great! Cooks fast & even. Like having the turn table again, our last microwave just moved back & forth. This microwave is a great deal!
