  • GE, bad idea to change the light bulb type

    The prior unit of same model lasted 8 years which was disappointing, but we used it a lot. When we turned the light in to see the stove top we noticed the microwave metal got very hot. They changed from the simple plug in appliance bulb to a halogen bulb that is very hot. Why not LED???? We complained to GE, but as with a GE refrigerator that dies in 8 years, they don’t respond indicating they don’t care. GE (and Maytag) used to be the best, they are garbage now.

    This was a satisfying purchase in every sense of the experience. All the features arrived as advertised by the salesman in the Best Buy store. The black slate color works well with the kitchen appliances which are black. The tech team who installed the microwave were on time, courteous , knowledgeable and helpful with the set up. I am a very satisfied Best Buy customer.

    Not a fan of the inside color which looks like the inside of the oven and also seems to not be very sound or sturdy when opening and closing door. Sounds cheap not solid.like the one I replaced. Functional but needs attention in the mfg department. Also the most used buttons should be located in easier spot instead if in middle of panel.

    I wish GE had some standard mounting hardware. Looked similar in photos but appears it was changed and now totally different. Had to drill all new holes in wall and cabinets only like 1 inch from each prior hole. Install went well tho. Microwave works well. My old microwave was similar power but seemed to cook faster somehow. Seems solid. Popcorn function works well!

    Product is 5 star. Best Buy customer service is abysmal. Making my wife load this in her vehicle by herself. You should be ashamed of yourself.

    Good looking product. Really like the sensory feature. Does a great job reheating food, coffee etc. It has the steam clean feature which will be nice for splatter removal. The control panel is black and hard to see without turning on lights on cloudy days.
