Broke my Stove Installing the Microwave

The installers broke the top of my stove when they installed the microwave. I did not notice the cracks (the top is black ceramic) until cooking that evening. They had to know they broke it, as they vacuumed and cleaned the stove top before leaving.
I contacted Best Buy about it, but the most they would do is give me a $25 gift card. Which I found insulting and declined.
I am not shopping at Best Buy anymore. Which is sad, because their customer service is great (in the store), and I like their prices and their products.

It has now been a month since I purchased an over the range microwave from Best Buy, with delivery, installation, and haul-away included, but I am in the process of scheduling my fourth appointment, and still do not have my microwave installed. I have also been required to pay 2 outside handymen to uninstall the old microwave, and then to remove a plate from the concrete wall, for a total of 5 appointments, and still no working microwave. I have been a Geek Squad member and now TotalTech member for years and have until now always been very satisfied with their service, but I find their current service unacceptable.

Item was originally supposed to be delivered February 21st, then delayed until March 7th. Now delayed until March 16, if it arrives by then, we'll see. If we had known it would have been a month to get it, we would have shopped elsewhere.

We had no idea this new GEmicrowave would be so noisy when it’s running. We thought it would be quieter, like our own old GE microwave - which we had for about six years.

Replaced 10 year old microwave from GE looks almost identical.

Once again GE has not let us down. The microwave does exactly what we wanted it to do. We had an LG before this and it didn't work as well. The light was weak, the vent fan wasn't as strong and it took entirely too long for food to cook. So when we ordered this, we still had our concerns, but luckily those went away immediately. The stove light has two settings. The vent hood has 4 strength settings and most importantly, the cooking power cooks food really fast. So far no complaints!

Sales person sold me the wrong unit. After going over, at length, the space dimensions, microwave it was to replace, all the facts and specs and he got it wrong. Worst of all, the appliance manager at that particular store, Danvers, MA, was totally abrasive, confrontational and totally unprofessional. Never dealt with a total "tool bag" like this guy. Will NEVER purchase another appliance at BB, sorry, brutal experience. To be clear, unit is fine in its performance, just doesn't fit the space appropriately and no one would help remedy the situation.

I think it's fair to grant the microwave 1 star for every successful year of it's life. After a custom cabinet installation this microwave has lasted about 13 months. We are 2 people using it in a house that we spend 4 days a week at - so it's not like it's been overworked. I'm really disappointed in this.
