Indian couple needs high heat for some dishes she prepares. Spent $1,800 bucks and now looking to junk it and put in an older unit or convert to gas. The sensi-temp feature is I know there to prevent fires. But frequent calls from an unhappy tenant is awful..just like the cutoff feature soon they will make cars that cut off or reduce speed when you speed. They are protecting us to death!

This certainly isn't the owner experience we would want for you and your tenant and we apologize for any inconvenience. Starting in 2018, UL regulation requires all coil top ranges to have temperature limiting capabilities to reduce the risk of cooktop oil and grease fires.
