    Works but so many software shortfalls for new 2025

    This ac is a pain in the butt. if you use the remote and hit the power button once to turn it on, or any button, it will audibly beep like it received the command. But nothing will happen. Every time I need to do something, I have to double tap each button - two beeps - for it to actually register. There is a quiet mode button on the AC and remote, but NO quiet button on the phone app. This ac loves to revert to Auto or ECO at random times when turned on by remote or phone, modes i'll NEVER use. Why can't I have it just default to low or quiet every time it's turned on? Completely backwards programming team. The app is horrendous. Wheels that makes selecting your setting sluggish, and it's in a 3-way dial between temp mode fan. So if you only want to adjust one, you get sent to the screen with the 3-way scroll wheel and can only adjust one at a time. Want to change temp to 74? scroll, hit set. What if you want to change mode to cool and fan speed to low? You have to hit cool, set, re-enter menu, scroll down Fan, scroll down to Low, hit set. You can't change two or three settings at once, but they send you to a giant menu all the same. Just give us buttons that we can tap. There's also a schedule mode, which works fine, but there's no auto shutoff after X minutes or hours. So if I want it to run on fan mode for half an hour before it shuts off, I cant set that unless i manually add a shut down at a certain time and day of the week in the schedule. Cooling is fair and efficiency is supposed to be good as a heat pump, but definitely weaker than an LG or Midea at 8k BTU. Could be due to the blower fans they use. I just wish they had a mode between quiet and low, since quiet should be closer to how the AC should generally sound compared to competitor dB offerings. LOW is still fairly loud, but it's the lowest you can get for good room cooling on a hot day. Quiet or low mode that reaches target temperature will get quieter but still have occasional AC noises while any temperature that far exceeds the target temp will force the unit into AUTO mode even if you have it set to QUIET. If i set it to quiet, it shouldn't be speeding up out of nowhere to full speed which negates the purpose of a Quiet mode. Bought this after the Midea U mold recall money so will be watching for any buildup of mold on the internal fan blower. The blade vents are encased in white closed cell foam for insulation. I've only had it for this summer so we'll see how it holds up to the winter, but there's no heater on the outside coils so when I use the heat pump function in the winter, it'll likely freeze up and affect performance in sub 32F temperatures. Heat pumps are less efficient as it gets colder, so i dont have high expectations there. But for an AC which should have a good UI UX design in 2025, this one is absolutely archaic for a well known brand. I also would have gone with their GE window u shaped ac, except for the fact that model has a water pump for the condensation drain, which is a component that many people have reported having problems over the years. This AC is a traditional box window heat pump, first on the market and affordable, but with many, many shortcomings.

    Poor Best Buy support and return team

    This is the review for Best Buy's poor exchange handling. I had a clear confirmation to return this item for exchnage due to defective WIFI feature. See BB exchange confirmation below. Few days later when I contracted BB support team for the exchange item, they told me that it was return for refund. And reorder it if I need it. OMG! such a miscommunication between BB support team and return team! I was without AC nearly a week in such hot weather here in NY around 90 degree. Best Buy such poor people in their support and return team. I am very disappointed.

    Really unsure of this models reliability

    For ge awgp08wwf air conditioner with heat pump i bought 2 of these back to back the 1st one did not work out of the box cycled on and then back off i returned it for a replacement the second unit worked for 5 days then i heard a loud popping sound and it did the same as the first unit returned it as well i was only buying this so i could have the heat pump in the winter now i am afraid to get anothet one so i just kept my old ac the reason i gave 2 stars instead of 1 was because of the easy return to best buy
