Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I am pleased with the purchased made. The main reason that we choose a top load washer was because the previous washer that we had which was Frigidaire Affinity front load washer, had a malfunction with the door sensor and had to be restarted many times the sensor would cost about 200 dollars. So, my wife and I decided to get a washer that’s not front load washer, because of the maintenance and the bad smell it leaves if you leave the doors closed. My in-laws have a Samsung front load and they have a similar issue, so we opted out of front load washers and got this type of washer. I’ve read some of the reviews for this washer and saw that it sounds like a duck when its being used, it does sound like a duck but since the washer is on the garage we can’t hear anything. The clothes come out clean and almost dry, once the clothes are placed on the dryer it will be done in less than 20 minutes depending on the type of fabric. Easy to manage and the price is great. I recommend to get the warranty just in case anything happens.

Great Washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were considering a few different brands and decided on this washer specifically because of its larger capacity and because it was not one of the high-efficiency styles that seem to have so many issues. We've done several loads and it does a great job at washing and spinning to leave clothes as close to dry as possible.

Good buy for the money spent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted washer with a regular agitator, did not want new spray water type agitation method, so not many to pick from in a good price range that had some good selector controls on it. Have used it several times and it is pretty noisy, much more than the other one I had. One complaint I have is if clothes get off center as jean denim and other pants or towels get partially to one side it goes nuts, much noise, jumping around, etc. on spin cycle, you have to readjust clothes or I think it would destroy the wall and dryer and maybe walk out of the house, very bad. You can't just set it and leave it as if it does the above you could have some damage so you have to be there while it is running to stop it and rearrange the clothes and then the spin cycle works just fine. Seems to clean clothes fine with the proper detergent.

Good machine, kind of noisy.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The machine is noisy but gets clothes as clean as my old LG which was only four years old when it quit in a bad way. I hope this machine is able to last longer but so far no complaints other than the noise. Not a bad machine for approximately half the price as my old LG. I used the free best buy delivery too. The delivery people were very professional and did an outstanding job.

Happy so far...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical after reading reviews, mainly about the washer being noisy. I don’t think I have ever owned a quiet washer. This one is great. It spins clothes until they’re almost dry. And I use 1/2 the detergent I used to. Clothes are clean and soft, and unless you have it overloaded it’s really not that noisy at all. I wanted a basic washer, no digital stuff, no wifi, no steamer function... just a washer. This is it, and I recommend it. If I had it to do over I would make the same purchase. It does sound strange at first (see video) but you’ll get accustomed to it.

Sure bet for the cost.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tall for a washer. Easy to use, don't get confused about all the buttons. It has the center agitator which I was looking for.

Functional and down-to-earth
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's practically impossible to find an older-style top-loading agitating tub washer anymore, but this model is about as close as you can get. It has an actual load size knob (far left) in addition to the now-standard "auto-size" functionality in most newer washers. The water comes in from the top, so you don't have to stack clothes like a brickmason to get it to work, like many new top-loaders where the water comes in from the bottom. So far it's done a great job washing clothes, towels, and sheets, and I didn't personally find it to be all that loud - it's probably louder than a front-loader, but it's no louder than the old-style top-loader I had before. It occasionally gets unbalanced and vibrates when spinning, but I think this is an issue with any of the newer top-loading HE machines that spin very fast. Best Buy delivery was also good - they made sure the water hoses weren't leaking etc., before they left.

Great washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Washer works great & has options to not lock lid to add items to wash. I wanted precise fill HE & agitator in order to felt wool, so it's perfect for both. Cleans great & is fairly quiet. a typical washer.

Finally, a washing machine I love!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine is wonderful! I highly recomnend it to anyone that wants some control over their own laundry process. I labored over this purchase for quite some time and read hundreds of online product reviews before making my decision. My previous machine, a well known brand, lasted only three years and was completely automated. I battled with the locking mechanism every time I washed clothes. It locked upon start and I had no idea what was going on in that tub. I could only hope the clothes were clean when it stopped. However, this new GE machine allows me to select my preferred water level, open the lid as it is filling and add more clothes, whitners, etc. It does lock eventually but not immediately. The tub is large enough for towels and bedding. The agitator is taking a little getting used to but I believe the clothes are cleaner. I am enjoying it so much I'm tempted to buy another one as a back-up plan just in case they discontinue this one. I dont want to be without it - ever! If you want to do laundry your way, this is the machine for you! Buy it!

Good at washing - but weird design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A few weeks in on this machine, and good so far. Cleans well and has many interesting settings. Got it for a modest price and the agitator, which is becoming very rare it seems. However, the overall design and number of selections is truly bizarre. For example, its not clear on what controls the water level - size of load, or the setting? Also, many rude and loud agitation noises. Forgot to put something in? Sorry, the lid is locked until you figure out the stop sequence....why?...and then how to restart where you left off? Forget it. About 20 choices from four buttons and three knobs worth of controls - for what? Overall, good results, but many needless features to just wash clothes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from GE Answers
Posted .Hello Edna - Thank you very much for purchasing a new GE Appliances Washer. We truly appreciate you choosing our product over other options. Typically the load size knob controls the water level. However, you can add water the the tub using the Deep Fill (http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=22718) and the Deep Rinse (http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16829) options. In order to pause a wash cycle, you can press the "Start/Pause" button once, and then press it again to start the cycle back where it left off. Our hope is that this appliance will serve you and your family well for many years to come. TREY@GEA

Great deep wash bin
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this new machine, its deep fill option, it takes my blankets and pillows very well, and the extra spin cycle makes my drying time a lot less, I’m saving on my electric bill because of this. Excellent washing machine, it’s ease of use and self-explanatory dials, an option for anything but not overwhelming, and good, fast washing times. For the price of repairing our old machine (not a G.E. product) instead I was able to purchase a brand new BIGGER wash basin. We used our old hand-me-down for a very long time until it started flooding our wash room. We did try to do home repair before giving up but there was no getting around it: we were over due for a new one. Thank you G.E. for making a realiable good product, I hope to see as much mileage out of this one as the last.

Best traditional washer out there
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely washes your clothes and gets it clean. It’s a little louder then newer machines but that’s just the strong motor you hear washing your clothes. Deep fill submerges your clothes and gets them clean

Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer does an excellent job cleaning clothes. My old washing machine was a 2001 model, so i was very apprehensive about diving into the world of HE machines. However, I have been pleased with this purchase. Pros about this washer is it has the center agitator, it has an option to choose the fill level as well as add additional water after filling is complete, it has a lot of cycle options, and the auto-fill feature seems to work pretty well if you choose to go that route. Cons: It is a little noisy, but not a big issue for me. It also vibrates during spin cycle, but i think this is to be expected due to the high RPMs.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cleans clothes very well love the speed wash & bulky wash settings will fit a full size bed comforter barely. Salesman said it would not. Glad I got the one with adjutator

I like it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this washer. I've had many years of experience doing laundry and did not want a washer that made decisions for me. This machine lets me choose how much water to use (OR I can let the machine do it), has mechanical turn knobs instead of just touch sensitive, offers many choices for temperature and type of load, has an agitator - all the things I liked about my previous 18 year old machine. The clothes come out really clean. The only disappointment is, like all new appliances these days, I'm told it will probably only last 7-10 years.

Cleans great, but loud machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would have been 5 stars, but this washer is very LOUD. I have to close the door to my laundry room when we use it. Surprised it wasn’t quieter. Can hear it many rooms away. However, I love how efficiently it cleans. Very capable machine for large loads. Spin cycle really gets the water out. I would still recommend this washer.

Biggest washer ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Big ole machine. I do one less load of linens, towels &c because it is huge. Old fashioned knobs are easy to figure out and price makes it great deal compared to all the fancy nonsense it was lined up next to. 5 stars

Terrific!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this machine - easy to use and does a terrific job on whites, colors, sheets and towels! Can do a small load with less water or a very large load with plenty of water. Without a center agitator (like my old machine had), I can wash comforters and bed spreads easily and completely. Plus, it has plenty of bells and whistles, while still having the features like being able to stop it to add what I have forgotten (which I loved in my old machine!)
