Basic, inexpensive, and does the job
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this washing machine on recommendation from my parents because they have a larger version of this machine that they like and because it was the closest thing I could find to my old machine which lasted 18 years. This machine does the job it is supposed to do, but it is very loud. The wash cycle makes a unsettling whirring noise. The machine does not seem to fill with enough water in the Precise Fill mode, so I tend to use the High water level setting for almost everything. Additionally the lid locks during the spin cycle so if the items inside get off balance you cannot open the lid to adjust things and restart the spin cycle. The spin cycle spins clothing almost to the point of being dry, so that may be good or bad depending on your point of view. This results in very wrinkled clothing. If you are looking for a basic, inexpensive machine that does what it is supposed to do, this is it. Just don't expect much more than that. On a different note, the guys who delivered and installed this machine and hauled away the old one were fantastic!

Still considering-Hope to reach for that 4th star
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1st and 2nd wash were accompanied by a horrific sound, like someone banging on a metal pan! Lady at the GE Help Line told me that's how it is supposed to sound. (Really?!) She Was very nice, though. But how can a company feel good about rolling a new machine off the assembly line that sounds like that! You could fall asleep hearing my former, Yes--45 YR. OLD Maytag's gentle surging. (Of course, had to be serviced a couple of times. And later on, no parts avail.) If this new GE were in a multi-complex, we would be told to get rid of it. Didn't Think to look up noise factor beforehand. That info was not in what I had researched. Many others pointed out the noise. OK. Have done a couple of other bigger loads. And am not sure I hear that. SO the noise problem is still on hold. How does it wash? It seems to do a good job. One thing for sure, it spins them very well! Ask me in a couple of months how it's going. During Covid, and there are only 2 of us, am not doing a lot of wash. I have to laugh when I read in the paperwork, how I should enjoy a good 10 years out of this washer! I Had looked at the Maytag for a little more money. I wanted a low-key, simple washer, and those 2 were similar.

Overall Nice Washing Machine...I hate the lid lock
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the space inside my GE washing machine. I can now wash my son's twin comforter with ease. However, I cannot get used to the lid lock mechanism. I do not LIKE IT AT ALL! I realize there is a small center cup explicitly made for the fabric softener...I just have a personal preference to add my softener myself during the rinse cycle. I have hit the pause button to unlock the lid so I can add my fabric softener, however, it will not release the lock. I waited a couple of minutes for it to release and it never did. After reading a little more about the purpose of the lid lock I understand it's for child safety. I would just like the option to add my fabric softener when I like to, as well as, have the option to turn the lid lock option on or off. Next time I may need to spend more money to get everything I want from a washing machine. Other than my personal issue with the lid lock, it’s a nice washing machine so far.

Good washer, but noisy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It cleans well. I've only had it a year, so I don't know how long it'll last. Has basic settings and a good size to fit up to one large blanket that's queen size. My only complaint about this washer is that it is VERY loud. If you have it in your garage you may not hear it. I have it in my laundry room which is by my living room.

Posted .Hello Christina - Congratulations on the new washer. We're happy to hear it is cleaning well for you. To help with the noise issue, we recommend making sure it is properly leveled on solid flooring. This will help reduce the vibration. ||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The washer itself is nice on the outside but when it comes to washing clothes it can be loud. That has taken some time to get used to for us. I also experienced it leaking out a pretty good amount of water after a load was done washing and I was in the process of taking out the clothes to put in the dryer. I thought it turned back on but not exactly sure what happened there. I gave it 3 stars b/c at this point I'm not too crazy about it just yet.

Very noisy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You couldn't make a washing machine sound any more ridiculous, I have to believe the noise is by design. Possibly as a way to let you know it's working hard to scrub the dirt out. Ridiculous, like buying a muscle car that intentionally leaves off the muffler. BestBuy did a solid job of delivering and installing. The appliance is attractive and easy to use. However the noise it makes is a deal breaker. I wish I had simply searched for the model on youtube, various appliance vendors have full length videos (yes videos of a washing machine going through a cycle the full 45 minutes - who knew) of these machines and the noise is obvious. I've owned it for a week and have washed a lighter queen sized duvet as well as jackets and heavy pants and the washing is solid.

Washer issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Washer makes a noise during Wash Cycle when on Colors or Casual settings. Also, had an incident with Bathroom Mat making a loud noise in the Drum of the Washer while in the Drain/Spin mode moving the Washer because it was moving around during the Cycle. Also, when Washer completed the cycle there was still water and suds in the Drum and I could not squeeze the water out of it because it was soaked yet. I tried to run the Drain/Spin mode again thinking it would drain the water out of the mat and spin to complete but it did not . I landed up throwing the mat out. I have not had a problem with the Drain/Spin mode since. Keeping an eye on this Washer.

New tech challenged
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First washer I’ve bought in 30 years. Sounds different than my old one. Gets clothes clean. Does a good job. Is a lot bigger than my last one. May need to upgrade my dryer next. Overall I’m happy with it. Just hope it lasts like my last one

Okay but not anywhere near as good as my previous
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did my research and made sure when I had to quickly get this washer to get a top-load with an agitator. But all of these washers want to use less water and so the size of the Bin is deceiving it only will fill up halfway on a Maximum level load. When I mentioned this after going back into the store to the sales rep they explained that they're all like that. I don't like it that they give this Big Bin like my previous washer had that had a ferocious agitator and these new washers the agitator barely moves it's very mild. And again I don't like the fact that it'll only fill up with water halfway so you can't do anywhere near the size low that the inside Bin indicates. So far this is what progress has given us and I'm disappointed in the fact that it's almost impossible to even find a top load agitator washing machine. We all know that those front load machines have a lot of problems with contamination and mold and all these other products that they want you to buy to sanitize your machine. How ridiculous to have to worry about sanitizing a washing machine when the point of using one is to have clean clothes! I purchased one of the best of The Limited stock in this new type of washing machines that again I'm not pleased with in general. It is what it is.

Works great but tub not balanced!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great! Tub is big and perfect for big loads (easily fits queen comforter) which is what I wanted. Only issue spin cycle is loud and gets off balance with tub rubbing inside of machine (since we got it and yes i've made sure items are balanced inside during this cycle).

no frills but good price
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our 12 year old whirlpool died and it was going to cost more to fix the electronic panel than it was worth. We went with this model because i really don't like front load and i feel like you need an agitator to get your clothes clean. This is a very no frills, no digital display or anything. Very old school but i like it so far.

Having problems already and I have only had it for
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Washer worked fine for a couple of weeks. This weekend July 5, the washer stopped cycling through a complete wash. The washer was not draining or spinning. I unplugged the washer for about a minute and seems to be working fine now. Just dont think I should be having any problems with it since it's about a month old.

Not terrible but needs work
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the dryer and washer April of last year. After 6 months of having the washer it started spinning loud and so hard it literally moves forward. I've noticed lately that I'm having to wash all my clothes on delicate because the washer is so rough. Seams on clothing are started to come apart. To add the detergent doesn't get washed out all the way. I sometimes have to turn it back on for a rinse and spin to get these white residue out. The washer doesn't seem to be going out anytime soon but overall the overly spinning/jumping part is concerning. I will be back with an update in a year because I'm curious to see if spending the 500+ was worth it! Not sure I'd recommend to a friend.

It wasn't the best washer I ever had.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking for a washer because we needed one right away. I believe if we had more time and funds we would have went with something else. But overall I need my clothes washed and it does wash my clothes. My husband brought this washer, I would have brought some other washer.

Different!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only when I'm putting a small load in does the water level reach where it should. Too many unnecessary options. Other load levels don't reach the proper water capacity, different! However I like that no lights remain on after the wash is completed.
