The ice maker that comes with the French door fridge is low capacity, so if you use much ice, this is a must have. It makes the standard ice in the standard amount. Installation was no problem- just follow the online video. Also, buy from Best Buy. I made the mistake of ordering first from Home D. They screwed up the order so bad that I had to spend 2 hours on the phone just trying to cancel the order, which they unfortunately sent anyway weeks later, requiring an extended return process at my local store. Plus, Best Buy was $10 cheaper.

The in-door icemaker is nice, but we need ice for a cooler on the weekends, which the in-door unit won't produce. This icemaker is our "bulk" ice maker, and for this purpose it is an excellent addition to the fridge. It takes up the left half of the pull-out internal freezer drawer. That's not a lot of space. It makes sufficient ice, and we are well pleased with the performance.

If you need more ice than the factory door ice-maker, get this to add lots more capability

The installation was delayed. Nice to have a second ice maker.

This is going to come in really handy in the summer! the ice maker in the door of the fridge holds a limited amount of ice and runs out. takes quite awhile for it to build back up. adding this additional ice maker will make sure i never run out of ice!

We’ve had it for two weeks - plentiful ice so far. The cubes are a good size and doesn’t take up too much of the freezer space

Honestly, this has been the install from hell! It has taken four teams of installers and two ice makers to get the maker in the refrigerator. It still has produced NO ice. This looking more and more like a defective refrigerator. We are very close to having BB come and pick it up.

I purchased in May and it wasn’t delivered until Third week of July. I was very impressed with the installers professionalism. However I can’t comment on if this ice maker or how it performs since we had a water pipe burst. I have half my kitchen torn apart and no running water or sink. Until repaired I can’t comment.

Icemaker installed incorrectly. Water fills up and spills into the freezer creating an sheet. Called for service three times and each time Best Buy sent a delivery person who knew nothing about ice makers. At this point still trying to get the repaired or replaced.

Having an extra ice maker is great ! Never run out of ice! Easy installation, too!

Does not work. Best Buy is trying for fourth time to install it. Should be a buying option and installed at manufacturer. If I had known, I would have bought another fridge.

In stalled on Saturday and still has not made ice. Had to pay to have it installed even though I had my purchased and had my fridge installed by best buy. Now it hasn't worked. 4 days no ice?
