Customers are saying

Customers admire the 30" Built-In Electric Cooktop's ease of use and cleaning convenience, as well as its fast and even heating capabilities. Many appreciate its sleek appearance and the helpful integrated timer. However, some users find the controls challenging to operate. The cooktop's positive attributes outweigh this particular drawback for most customers.

I really loved this cooktop when it was first installed. Our previous GE cooktop was 20+ years old and still worked great, but we needed to replace our oven so we bought this cooktop to match. In retrospect, I wish we would have looked for one with manual controls instead of a touchpad, but this is what was readily available. It scratches easy, and has a finicky habit of accidentally turning on burners. Those issues are tolerable, but a month after it was installed, the touchpad stopped working completely. Just nothing. Dead. When we called GE around Nov 20th for service, they scheduled someone to come out and look at it on December 16. Thats almost 4 weeks without a working range for my large family. I couldn’t use my BRAND NEW cooktop to cook Thanksgiving dinner this year. It was rather disappointing. Overall, when it works, it works well, but the control panel is way too sensitive and fragile. There is no reason it should have stopped working after just a month, and it shouldn’t take GE 4 weeks to service a product still under warranty.

Works well with multiple burner choices and, particularly with synchronized burners for use with griddle which I love! What I dislike is how easily surface scratches. Despite frequent cleaning, daily cleaning is necessary to make it look clean.
