Love this little ice machine makes ice as fast as I can use it! It’s very easy to setup! Love the water tank on the side so as you use the ice it keeps making more ice.

I’ve been wanting a nugget ice maker for a while now. I was eyeballing this over anything on Amazon and I figured dropping 6x the cash would save me from any headaches… I was wrong. I unfortunately cannot attach videos here for this review but trust me, it’s not worth the price. The ice is AWESOME don’t get me wrong, but a good 50% of the time the machine is running, it’s noisy! Not like a simple “mmm” or anything you’d expect but it’s a super loud pitch “screech” and I can hear it on the other side of my house. Honestly, the first night after setting it up, I literally thought my wife was in the other room trying to scare me… we were both just as freaked out as the other! I really like this machine and think it would be worth every penny if they’d able to fix this noises it comes almost constantly. Till then, im not exactly satisfied with my $600+ purchase. Oh lastly, the side water reservoir is absolutely necessary and I’m glad I got it.

It costs much more than other ice makers. But as my grandfather told me growing up you get what you pay for. We have had the Opal 2.0 for about 6 weeks and we love it. Some people say it is too loud. However, I do not agree with that. We keep it in the kitchen and we have an open floor plan home. It does not bother us at all while in the living room. A HUGE PRO is you can connect it to wifi and create schedules for it to come on and off. Only con was s that it holds about 3 pounds of ice. I wish it could hold a little more. We bought a triple walled ice bucket. We put some in that when the Opal gets full.

I bought this ooen box excellent condition but i almost returned it it was kinda dirty well i cleaned it and ran a clean cycle with a teaspoon of clorox! Than ran a few more clean cycles with water only, well at the end of cleaning it and everything it looks beautiful and new! Great ice crunchy but soft and literally gives everything you drink a better taste but its funny because its the same water on my ice refrigerator or my other ice maker i have but it taste better with this 2.0 nugget maker! Its soft on your teeth too so no more hard chewing!

Wonderful ice maker, it’s countertop, an external water tank can be attached, pebble ice, chewable.. continuous ice making throughout the day, also connects via WiFi to your network and can be controlled from your phone or Google /alexa. Had the ice maker for over 6 months, this by far one of the best purchases.

So far so good!! I buy Sonic and Zaxby’s ice by the bag ... at least 2 a week. Read all of the instructions before you start. When I started making ice it ran water for a minute or so and I was a little concerned. Not to worry ice started falling shortly after. The kids could not wait, like a good mom, I let them have the first scoop. We started making ice about 5:30 pm yesterday and by 11:00 am today out ice bin in the freezer is full. Not to mention how much we have eaten. Straight out of the bin it is the perfect soft ice. Out of the freezer it is hard, (same as the bagged ice after you freeze it) my recommendation is to fill your cup and leave it for about 10-15 mins and it will soften up some.

Wife loves it first one had an issue but best buy swapped it with no problem. Second one world but does have a wired clicking noice trying it out hopefully it goes away other then that high quality machine that makes that good ice!

This machine is amazing if you love soft ice. It’s easy to operate and clean. It makes the ice in 20 minutes or less. The WiFi makes it easy to set up when you want ice for that ice coffee in the AM.

Lack of freezer space for ice trays is what prompted this purchase. 4/5 of my family struggles with hydration issues, so I searched long and hard for an ice maker to encourage everyone to drink more this summer. The GE Opal 2.0 did not did disappoint! It is quiet and easy to clean. The pull out drawer is kid friendly- my 5&7yo help themselves. The water recycles back into the machine as it melts, so I rarely have to refill the water. I would buy absolutely buy this item again.

Very pleased with the type of ice, features, and speed of ice production. Some reviews say it is loud but it is at least 50% quieter than the $99 countertop models available. Love this one also for the UV sterilizer and side tank cutting down refill time, especially for our family of 8 who love ice.

We love Sonic ice and this definitely produces the same consistency. We’ve had it for about 6 months now and absolutely love it! It is a bit noisy but we placed it in our walk-in pantry alongside the water cooler so it’s not a big deal. Speaking of water, be sure to use filtered water. If you plan on using this at parties you may be disappointed as it won’t produce enough. But it’s perfect for our family of 6. When we have parties we just pick up a bag of ice.

I have only had my opal 2.0 for about a month, so I can only speak for the short time I’ve had it, but this thing is great. I use it all day long. I noticed where some said it’s kinda loud, but I honestly barely notice it’s on and making ice. The ice is great, even better than the “drive-in” ice I was addicted to, a little softer so I imagine it’s not as hard on teeth and the size is perfect. If you are on the fence and have the extra dough, just buy it. You will not regret it.

Honestly this is best Ice machine you can buy under $1000.00 I am in the refrigeration business and commercial or under the counter Ice machines can be thousands of dollars. If you use ice every day like my family does and you don’t want spend more than $1k and have quality ice, don’t look else where. This is an elite Ice machine and works flawlessly and easy to maintenance.

We love this! We initially received one that was defective (aggressively loud for prolonged periods of time and stopped producing ice) but Best Buy exchanged it and so far the new one consistently keeps the ice container full and is much quieter :) It was an extravagant purchase for sure, but we love good ice in this house!

Pros, it makes the best ice ever. It can make 25 pounds or so a day. All of my friends are jealous of me. Cons, there is only one con. It is noisy. The best place for it is in a closet or in a cabinet that has power. Putting it on the floor if tile or hardwood just seems to amplify the problem. Counters are the same way. Even with the noise I just love the ice itself.

This item makes great ice and quickly. Its been amazing for that. Only complaint is this really loud squeaking, humming type noise when its been on for a while. Read up on it and it says its not defrosting enough or something. I paid $600+ for this machine and i have to unplug it half the time to prevent this noise in our house.

Love my ice machine! Sonic ice is a great snack and it’s great for my drinks! Fast ice production and it has a clean function not like my old one. Love the size and style of it.

My family and I love it. I have only a few drawbacks. I wish you could access the ice without opening and closing the unit each time. It's also a little noisier than I thought it would be. But it makes great ice in a matter of minutes.

I absolutely love my new icemaker! I'm so glad I made the purchase especially since I enjoy chewing ice as a snack. It makes the perfect sized ice and it's chewable too! I don't need to trek to the nearest popular fast food chains to get my ice fix (good to keep away from processed foods). I conveniently get my ice straight from home! Normally, I have this icemaker produce enough ice so I can place it in an ice bucket for my refrigerator freezer, that way I can turn the icemaker off and conserve energy costs. It's great for entertaining and attractive to look at (the light is a nice bonus to the look). The ice is great for smoothies too! Just a note, although it was a bit too tall to slide between my cabinets, I was able to place it on my bay window in my kitchen and it looks fine!

LOVE this ice maker! Super easy set up, cleaning and easy use. Oce is exactly how I wanted it. Best small kitchen appliance investment yet! If you've been debating on purchasing this machine- do it! I have zero negative things to say and highly recommend!
