Another classic Gears game. Graphically top notch playing on the S. Game with the season pass, along with the copper mug & coaster was a great deal. Also instead of receiving 4 days early, Best Buy delivered 6 days early. Beat it once, now to move to a higher difficulty. What a blast.

This game is loads of fun, AWESOME graphics, AWESOME story line and at the end of playing in Campaign the end of the story line leaves you wondering what will Gears Of War 5 be like, it can only get better if thats even possible but it leaves you wanting to play more. I played until my headphones and controller died..Playing along with other players definitely is alot of fun and actually makes you work hard at defending your home base. Its easy to get lost in the world Of Gears Of War 4 and having the soldiers from GOW 3 is a plus and alot more better weapons to chose from. If your a Gears Of War fan and have GOW 3, You NEED to buy GOW 4 Special Edition for extra items. Have Fun and Enjoy!!!

    Great return to GoW

All I gotta say is that this game is amazing. The story is more personal than it ever has been so don't expect a huge war of some sort. It's more a family story but still very good. Returning characters like Marcus really make the game for me as it shows how The Coalition doesn't want to forget about the past games. Gears Of War 4 is a great continuation of the series and I'm happy it's finally out. The multiplayer is so crisp and feels like GoW 3 multiplayer. If you were worried that it'd be like the GoW Judgment then don't be. It's nothing like it and it goes back to GoW's roots. Horse 3.0 is fantastic for people that loved the previous versions. Now we have a class system that makes the experience much more interesting as we level up our classes and unlock upgrades to become stronger when fighting the Swarm or Deebees. The only complaint I have is that the unlock system and progression rely on RNG based packages. It's not like GoW 3 where you unlock characters, weapon skins, and etc. just by playing and completing certain tasks. In GoW 4 you earn a currency called Credits and this is used to buy RNG based packs that will give you cosmetics, boosters, bounties, and class skills for horde. Unfortunately, the rate at which we earn credits is not very good and when rewarded it's very little and in order to buy enough packs to make a difference you have to either spend real money or play for HOURS. This leaves people feeling that they have to pay in order to get anything they want. So that's the only negative in my opinion. Micro transactions should stay out of GoW. Other than that this game is such a refreshment and is a must buy if you are a gears fan. Buy it even if you've never played a gears before because it will explain what has happened in the past for players that are new.

Play anywhere feature is awesome at 1st I had some issues downloading for PC but finally figured out it has to be downloaded from the actual windows store within Windows 10, can't be downloaded from browsers, this is the 1st time I've ever played the his game on PC and man the graphics are amazing the story line so far is great , game looks good on Xbox one s too but I think I might stick to PC, switching back and forth can be challenging because controls are different may have to try the Xbox controller on PC which well probably feel weird, either way the game is outstanding should keep me busy for a while, other games I'll be playing well be mafia 3 and bf 1

I really love the the Gears games. This one is no exception. They continue to bring new items and mechanics to the game, while also bringing back some of the stuff we really liked in previous versions. I won't spoil the game by discussing it, but it is well worth the purchase. My friends and i have had a ton of fun playing the new maps and horde mode. The one and only thing i don't like about it is that I ordered the deluxe edition which comes with the season pass. You would think you get everything the game has to offer, but you don't. They now have in-game purchase content for 'Playing Cards', which give you quests to level faster. You get a bunch when you buy the season pass, but it's not enough to give you a big jump. The cards are random, so you get a lot of cards you probably won't be able to use. You have two choices; buy card packs (they are expensive) or play a LOT to earn a small amount of credits so you can buy card packs. They need to close this gap quite a bit. It seems very unreasonable to pay $100 for a game and then have to pay even more, but I'll let you decide. GREAT game though.

Good For Fans and Newcomers Alike

Gears 4 offers plenty of nostalgia for longtime fans of the series and enough new material that first timers won't feel lost. The campaign is fun, if a little frustrating at times, and the story manages to have some emotional depth without ever taking itself too seriously. Multiplayer is fast and frantic, and there is plenty of variety in game types. The real star, in my opinion, is Horde 3.0, where you and up to four friends face off against 50 waves of increasingly aggressive enemies. There's a tower defense element in that you can build fortifications and weapons to help you survive. There's also a new class system and unlockable skills so that players can choose the most effective role for their play style. However, if there is a negative here, it's the card pack system. Let's face it, in modern gaming, micro transactions are here to stay. But systems like the one in Gears 4 have been better implemented in other shooters (cough, Halo 5, cough). While it's true that the Versus and Elite packs offer only cosmetic options and experience bounties to help the player level up, and confer no advantages in multiplayer, the Horde packs are virtually essential to succeed in Horde 3.0, particularly on higher difficulty levels. And while players can earn credits to spend on packs by simply playing the game, Gears 4 feels rather stingy with how many credits it doles out when compared to other games. The ability to scrap unwanted cards in order to craft desired cards helps, but I'd like to see some daily or weekly bounties that offer the opportunity to earn credits or card packs. All in all, Gears of War 4 is a worthy entry, both celebrating the legacy of the franchise and carving out a new direction. Can't wait to see where The Coalition takes the series next, and what updates and expansions they introduce for this title in the coming months.

Great start for a rebooted series! The gameplay is new with new weapons, modes, and melee animations and abilities. The campaign (though not as focused on as much as multiplayer,) a fresh start for a new trilogy... possibly. However, people are more used to Marcus Fenix and probably like him as a better character than JD, but you can only do your first character once. Multiplayer is great, with all of the things I mentioned in the second sentence. Horde 3.0 mode is great, though not as simple as the previous gears Horde with the classes (I liked it with the same abilities, guns, and ammo,) but it does keep the game moving, new, and interesting. The only thing that I would not give it a 10 out of 10 for is the format. I specifically bought this game to support Gamestop. If my disc gets scratched, I am out of the game. That is no one's fault, but it is nice to be able to redownload it on the Xbox One and Windows 10

I am so glad Gears of War has finally made its debut on the Xbox One. The graphics and the narrative of the game are superb. You play as Marcus Phoniex's son this time around and his team but it still plays and feels like the original Gears. If you're considering of returning to the story, this is a great place to start. Not to mention, the fifth game is on its way.

Gears of War was already one of my favorite franchises and Gears 4 adds to that. Since Gears 2, with the introduction of Horde Mode, the games have three aspects. The campaign is well written and fun. I like the characters and their chemistry. The gameplay never gets old. There are new enemy types within the forces of the Swarm to deal with. And the ending has raised questions about the lore and if you're into it, you'll love it. If you're new to the franchise, you'll want to play the others. Multi-player is still fun and addictive as ever. Nice looking and we'll designed maps as well as classics, including my favorite, Gridlock. With the class system and other upgrades, Horde Mode is bigger and better. That and the way new weapons can be brought into the game can change up how you play. You can put hours into all three aspects of the game and get lost in it. Highly recommended.

If your interested in the series and like the online your enjoy this. To me I ran a quick run through the storyline and I finished it in six hours on solo. The real draw point to this edition of the game is the steel book case and season pass, if the steel book case is something you like than neat for you or your hate it or heck you might not even care. The season pass gives you some extra season pass only bonuses like weapon skins and character skins. It also gives you 24 new maps as they are added over time. Sadly I think this isn't enough to cover the cost thankfully I got it 20%off with my membership to best buy but the season pass doesn't add much right now and the game is questionable with micro transactions that give horde mode a pay to win feel. Wish the season pass also gave you a boost to credits after each month or something to counter balance that but overall if your a big enough gears fan you'll enjoy this as its more of the same just looks better.

All the Gears games are awesome and the next is just as good. Gears of War 1, 2, 3, Judgement and now 4. I like these games for their story and how they are different. Horde mode is an awesome feature. Reminds me of Call of Duty zombies. It's sad how this game will get less players than Battlefield or Call of Duty. Cards in the game are useful. Games now-a-days don't include everything, you have to pay more to complete compared to getting it all. The campaign is awesome and really fun like the previous. I would recommend trying and getting the preorder bonus IF you have a MyGamersClub, getting the coaster mug set. I felt the deluxe edition was the best deal, as long as you use the season pass. I already had the previous versions, so it was pointless having the codes. It came with previous digital downloads, season pass, and some other in game content. Good game and would recommend.

The original Gears Of war was my very first Xbox 360 game purchase and I fell in love with the series since. It was what Halo did for the original Xbox. After what was thought to be the finale, Gears Of War 3, the story came to a close albeit a mediocre story in my opinion. When Gears 4 was announced, I was hesitant and thought Microsoft was milking the franchise. I was wrong. This installment is fresh but still feels familiar in gameplay. The story is FANTASTIC! And that ending! The graphics are brilliant and the game mechanics are smooth. The multiplayer is a lot of fun and addictive and plays 60 frames per second which is nice. I just wished that the campaign played in 60fps too. If you're new to Xbox then this game is a MUST! And what's better is that Microsoft sends you digital codes for Gears of War 1,2,3 and the prequel Judgement.

The game had a great story line; but the difficulty of play through, even on insane (the hardest difficulty) was pretty low. As an avid gears fan, this was a must have. I love the online multiplayer and am eager for all the new maps to come.

This game lives up to the franchises high standards of a great story and fun multiplayer. Fans of the franchise will love this game and those who haven't experienced I've if Xbox's top franchises can pick this game up and get all the previously released gears of war games for free via Xbox 360 backwards compatibility! So if you've never tried the Gears franchise this is the best way to start because you get all 5 games in one package deal.

Yeah that's what I think of gears 4 multiplayer. Gaming gold. One of the best multiplayer available for a gamer. The campaign was original yet short. 8 hours worth but definitely different than the predecessors. Bottom line is, I am still playing and will not sell it. This version came with all the former gears as well. The selling point was the sweet $30 less than anywhere else. Thanks best buy
