The screen is gorgeous and one of the best ever on a laptop. Performance is good. However, the machine lacks practicality unless it is used as a desktop replacement:
- Battery life is poor despite large Wh number.
- Machine is not silent
- Even if you settle for it as desktop replacement the port selection is weird.
- I was not able to use USB-C to charge the machine. Has its own charging brick.
Tried to love it so much but simply could not.

A lot of promise met with disappointment

I owned this for about a year before I sold it to someone else. I bought this thinking it was a steal. It had a 4K screen, an i7 processor, 16 gigs of ram, a great graphics card and 1TB of space. However as a college student, this was not a good laptop for me. It weighed around 5 pounds, which considering the hardware, is very good, but was tasking on my back and added a lot of weight to my backpack. I wouldn't consider this a gaming laptop however, as the graphics card is more built for video editing. The 4k screen is beautiful when watching movies and for doing general tasks, but for gaming, the screen would tear a lot. Turning down the graphics for it not to tear was a little disappointing. When not on battery saving mode, the battery lasts 2 1/2 hours, so this will have to be plugged in all the time if you want to get serious work done. The charger also weighs a lot since the battery on this is huge.
There were times I turned it on and the screen would simply not work at all. The backlight and the keyboard would light up but not the screen. I'd have to wait for hours for it to work, many times having to wait for the battery to die overnight for me to plug it in and have it work again.
The customer service from gigabyte was a MESS to find and get help with anything. It took a month for me to get my gigabyte control center app working through their customer support. When I tried to get my screen thing fixed they left me alone to find their repair site through 50 different other sites. I must've signed up for a thousand different sites trying to find which one would allow me to get my computer fixed. So if you want help with this device, good luck.
Overall, I feel as if this had a lot of promise, but failed to live up to my expectations when I bought it, even on sale.
To sum it up, here's some pros and cons.
Pros:
-Durable aluminum build
-Great 4k screen when not gaming
-Great for video editing
-Smooth work flow when working
-Good keyboard and track pad
-Dongle provided
Cons:
-Fans are loud as they can get when doing tasking work
-Customer service is horrible
-Heavy
-Horrible battery life
-Iffy if it'll turn on (probably only mine did that)
-Not a gaming laptop as advertised
-Good computer, but not for the price, even when on sale
-Only 3 usb-c ports
I think for a film student or professional this is a solid computer, but if you're looking for a gaming PC, something to use in college to do research and take notes, or both, I'd put my money elsewhere.

Excellent laptop spec-wise, but...

For the price I paid (sub-1400), it's definitely difficult to find a laptop spec'd out like this one. 12th gen Intel Core i7 processor, 105w 8GB Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Gen4 m.2 NVMe SSD with another slot to upgrade in the future...
However, this laptop is geared more for creators (how it's advertised to consumers) than gamers, or rather, it's more of a portable workstation that can handle light gaming. An example of this is the UHD/4K 60Hz screen, as it is great for video playback but not the best at playing games on FHD due to capping out at the refresh rate of the screen. Playing games on UHD/4K would be worse due to the lower FPS on that resolution.
I haven't run down the battery from 100% full to empty, but I would estimate that I can get a little over 3 hours with just browsing the Internet on 20% screen brightness with a balanced power plan. This laptop has sub-par battery life per charge/drain cycle, but since it is rated at 99 Wh, I could take this laptop with me on a plane.
Overall, this laptop is better suited for everything other than gaming. If you're looking for a dedicated gaming laptop, there are way better options out there. Otherwise, this is one of the best deals for what you can get in a laptop nowadays.

Overall, I'm very happy with this laptop. The screen is excellent, it's quick and Windows Hello works well on it. The keyboard and touch pad are both very good and the laptop is very well put together.
It's heavy, and the cooling fans can get loud, but it is a desktop replacement laptop!

This laptop checked off almost everything on my list for a new laptop with its decently powerful specs, sturdy aluminum body, high color accuracy 4k amoled screen, with upgradeable RAM and storage memory. And of course, the price is ridiculously low.
It does run really hot pretty fast, but that's to be expected. The fans are no too loud and can be controlled when needed in settings.
My biggest issue is how fast the battery depletes. Feels like every minute takes 2% of the total battery, I'd not trust it if out and about.
Would highly recommend if using it as a desktop replacement laptop

I'll start off the review by staying that this is a laptop through and through. Don't buy this expecting a desktop replacement, that's not what this is. Its got solid performance all around but i would definitely wait to pick this up on sale. It can be used for gaming, but you want to switch over from the studio drivers and make sure you're on the appropriate mode and power settings when gaming. Don't expect 4k gaming, it just isn't powerful enough. Does well with 2k gaming though. The OLED screen is the best aspect and gets really bright with vivid colors on all media. Biggest downside is that the fans are super loud even with a chilling pad and it gets very hot with the all aluminum chassis.

Pretty awful and no idea who it’s made for.
You can’t game on it because newer games or good graphical settings cause this thing to get very hot and loud. I know gaming laptops are all hot and loud but this one is just poorly designed. Air vents blow air on your arm.m, you can’t even touch thing thing without being burnt.
Games have stuttering. There is no gsync or free sync. If you think 60hz is fine for you, you’re wrong because it’ll keep dipping below60hz and stutter.
On a good side, if you only want to play lighter games or if you absolutely don’t care about stutter, it’ll be more than fine. I tested Dark Souls Remastered and it ran at consistent 60hz 4K.
I have also tested The Witcher 3 on various settings. 4K was at 40 fps (ultra settings, hair works off); 1440 and 1080p were relatively ok at 60hz but kept stuttering so it wasn’t pleasant to play.
Tested Battlefield V and it ran awful.
Tested Elden Ring and it was not playable at 4K (30 fps and stutter). More or less okay at 1440p (stutter but reaching 60) and kind of playable at 1080p. Max settings.
HDR makes no difference on this laptop.
The 4K resolution did not impress me. I’m typing this on a 720p phone and I’m about to play on my 480p handheld console. 4K means better clarity and text which all looks nice bjt the technology is way too early at this point and requires too much power even on desktops. 1440p is arguably a better balance but imo 1080p and 720p are still very fine.
The OLED display was nice. It’s not as good as I hoped it would be but that seems to be how I feel about these new technology overall. OLED And 4K are the future and they are superior but at the moment it’s way too taxing with minimal improvement.
OLED was nice. One thing to note is that my laptop had this weird jiggering? Screen tearing? The image would have wavy lines as if the laptop microstutters or perhaps it’s refreshing the lights on OLED in the wrong way. Not dead pixels, it’s just something else.
You also can’t be creative on this laptop, imo, because the heat and noise are awful. I turn it on and want to turn it off. Please get a desktop and think about your nervous system.
With so little ports and comfort issues, who is this made for ?
The laptop has good display that is pretty but honestly, the only major advantage this has over a GOOD IPS panel is “true blacks”. The true black is definitely important for contrast and better picture but not decisive. A good (!) IPS panel with proper response rate and colors will be almost as good and better in some ways because this display is GLOSSY and reflective as all oled are
You can’t game on this if you want new games. It’ll only run maybe PS4 generation games at best. anything else with stutter even on 1080p.
No g sync here
The laptop is heavy and the touchpad was awful.
If you need light creativity, get a tablet or MacBook, or some quiet (!) office laptop.
If you need gaming, get a console or desktop. Save your mental health

Really great laptop super fast, clean, very sturdy build. Amazing screen. Does get a little warm. Only has USB c ports. Thought that would be its biggest downfall. But all the newer devices are strictly using usb-c anyways and the expansion port is usable if needed with HDMI or internet cable. Turns out has not been an issue. Intel 12 gen chipset Highly recommended

Great laptop, which I got at a great price. It has some caveats at 60hz, lack of ports, low battery life, & underwatted GPU, but the pros & price definitely make up for it & make this a steal of a deal.

I really wanted to love this computer because this was the 4th computer I had to get from Best Buy after the first 2 HPs keep on over heating even though they were brand new. I bought this one and after a few months is started glitching and freezing with lines all over the screen. I had to get it replaced with another one. This computer is a brick. The power cord weighs a ton as well. All that weight and the battery drains so fast. I use this computer for designing and as it’s a gaming computer it was suggested because of its similar capabilities. Do not love this computer at all.

I bought this laptop to have something nice to do my work as a computer science student, as well as play the occasional game. First off the display is really nice, 4k oled looks great for the games and movies that I've had so far, not to mention everyday sites and apps. It is pretty snappy and responsive. Some of the issues I had with setting up programs for software development on my desktop were no issue on this laptop. Looks overall are nice and professional. As for cons, I think the surface gets easily marked up, track pad shows fingerprints, it might be a little plain for some, it's a little on the heavy/ bulky side if mobility is the goal, battery life is not fantastic. I would say, as a student, I sometimes wish I went for a smaller, cheaper laptop that I could take everywhere and not worry much about, but this one looks (display wise) and performs so great that I decided to stick with it.

Big screen and beautiful display, faster, works good. However, the keyboard is not the same as others so i need get used to it. The fond on the keyboard is strange and i cannot found the key easily. Lack of sound up and down and screen brightness up and down key so it is not convenience. The laptop is heavy and looks a little ugly but i am not care of this. Overall, bad looking but works fine.

Laptop looks and feels amazing! 3 Stars because the battery life does seem to be consumed within 2 hrs of use. Display and speed are amazing! Looking forward to seeing what all I can do on this laptop. I haven't tried running any games yet. But this pc was purchased for many reasons. Also recommend getting a cooler of some sort because some of other reviews have stated that this pc also tends to get warm. For the asking price of this pc battery life should be longer and should not run as warm in my opinion.
